  1. Hi Ladies! Just got my order from plumeriasweddingflowerboutique.com and I had to post a quick review to say how fantastic it worked out. Roberta was super enthusiastic and easy to work with. She communicated quickly and for under $300 she executed what I was picturing to a tee. I got a 10" bouquet for myself, 2 6" bouquets for my bridesmaids, 3 bouts and a dozen loose flowers to decorate the cake. I HIGHLY recommend her for those considering real touch flowers (and yes they feel and look very real) especially if you love frangipani which are super expensive to get outside of Hawaii or the southern U.S.
  2. Experiencing mild shortness of breathe when I look at the countdown lately but I am taking comfort over the fact that we all seem to be stressing over the same things, makes me feel like I haven't forgotten anything. I FINALLY go for my first fitting on Sunday and my flowers (fake obviously) arrived yesterday and they are perfect, phew! I just need jwellery and a new suitcase and I'm all taken care of. 80% done my centrepieces too. I might actually get to relax and enjoy christmas after all!
  3. Hey BusyBee! I was at a wedding at your resort last spring and from what I remember it's not a super long walk from the gazebo to the lobby bar. If you don't get a bartender it would be less than a ten minute walk there and back for people to grab their own drinsk (although there is a serious stairway along the way) Are you doing oot bags? If you give everyohne one of those huge travel mugs and tell them to bring it to the reception they'll only need one drink
  4. Our group is about the same size as yours. We decided with the casual feel of our wedding and the tiny group that formal invites weren't necessary so we made a really nice evite that we set to our wedding song with lots of pictures of us and Jamaica. Everyone loved it, it was free, you don't have to mail them and you can pack so much more info into them.
  5. Need to post a tiny rant here ladies. So I ordered my dress the end of July. Apparently it would normally take this designer until January to get the dress in but the rep at the trunk show made a big deal about how he liked me and would personally ensure that it was rushed and delivered by the second week of November to leave plenty of time for alterations. So the bridal shop called yesterday to tell me it was in and when would I like to come for my first fitting? I suggested next Friday and then they told me that their seamstress is booked until the first week of December so I can't come til the fourth. Here's hoping I don't need much in the way of alterations as that's 6 weeks before the wedding and there's two holidays in between! What was the point of the rush order? Okay I've ranted... thanks for listening
  6. Lol, I just got stressed out for you reading this. Pack those bags and worry about the bouquets when you get there! Don't forget your sunscreen! They charge a fortune for it in Jamaica
  7. I KNOW! I am beside myself I'm so excited. My dress FINALLY comes next week so of course I'm working out like a fiend. We just sent our legal stuff out and have our final details sheet ready for the coordinator at the Beach. Just my little arts and crafts projects to do and maybe a little online shopping for sundresses lol. I wonder if we'll be able to see eachother's bonfires down the beach! Still planning to hit the disco after your reception? Let's do a group shot if so k? Woohoo! Party!
  8. http://www.save-on-crafts.com/greencalla.html Is that the colour you're looking for? I almost ordered these ones myself, that's how I knew where to find them
  9. I have! Go to www.save-on-crafts.com. The only catch is that they don't ship to Canada so you can either have them sent to a UPS store at your nearest US border crossing (for example I am a 40 min. drive from Augdensburg NY so I use the address of that UPS store and go pick it up when my order arrives, it costs like 5 bucks) or if you have some American friend who can receive them for you and arrange to get them the rest of the way privately. Those are really high quality real touch flowers, if you want some fake and cheap ones believe it or not I saw some at Dollarama once.
  10. There's a few photos of the bonfire from both the Suites AND the Beach (they do them exactly the same) in the reviews section. We are doing the bonfire but our whole wedding is going to have a very casual feel. It sounds like you want something a bit more formal? Have you thought of doing the private rental of the disco for your cocktail?
  11. Question for those who have visited the resort before. I'm getting dangerously close to the allowed weight limit for my luggage (and this is with all members of the wedding party helping out by bringing something in each of their bags) and still haven't bought favours. I wanted to do something edible so guests don't have to cart something home with them. Has anyone seen something at the gift shops at the resort that will work? Candy of some sort? Salt water taffy? I have little pails with their names on them to serve as both a place card and to hold the favours so anything that will fit in the palm of your hand would work. If all else fails I'll just fill them each with a rum shot, lol.
  12. And I never thought my fiancee would be so picky! I picked mine out in 2o minutes, he had to look in 3 stores and then go back a second time on his own because apparently I was being "too helpful". Seriously!
  13. Finally ordered our wedding bands yesterday. Feeling uber productive at the momentand will probably even do place cards this week.
  14. There's a woman on Etsy who makes them for crazy low prices. I think they start at $25. I forget her name but if you search wedding veil I'm sure you'll find her pretty quick.
  15. I was there for a wedding in February and it was a great resort. I think the best part of it was the location, you can walk right into the water there and the snorkelling is fantastic, so many beautiful fish, clear water for swimming, pretty jungle all around. And the food was a bit better than other all-inclusives we've been which is really important to us
  16. Ok so I just logged into theknot.com and saw the little countdown in the top right corner which suddenly states that there's less than 100 days til my wedding! 96 to be exact. Anybody else having a mini panic attack right now? It doesn't matter how many checklists I use I'm still sure there must be something I'm forgetting. And here I've been bragging to all my friends about what a relaxed bride I am. There goes that theory :s
  17. Your colours are gorgeous Ashaun! Even tho it was cloudy your setup on the beach brings some sunshine to it. Thanks for the warning on the dj. It made my mind up to just bring an ipod for our reception.
  18. Holy smokes that's ridiculous! My only question with express post is can you still track it once it's out of the country? Do they hand it over to the local postal system once it lands in Jamaica? And if so how reliable is the mail there?
  19. Congrats and Welcome! A V-Day wedding eh? Very cute!
  20. Beautiful! Your tables looked so pretty and beachy. And that dress is perfect! So unique.
  21. Congratulations!!! Good job on "going with the flow", I think that's the best advice I've gotten from everyone's reviews. Enjoy the honeymoon mon
  22. That's hilarious! I wonder if I can find a Jamaican flag one at a gift shop....
  23. Never been a fan of the whole garter thing myself the last few weddings we went to they skipped this and the last time I saw someone do it I think the entire room rolled their eyes. Also not throwing my bouquet, every time I got herded up there with all the other single girls for that I swore to myself that I would never do that to my friends. Don't I sound cynical this morning? Must need more coffee lol.
