  1. wow you did amazing! My letters looked silly so I ordered mine off etsy from buttonzandbloomz http://www.etsy.com/shop/buttonzandbloomz?ref=ss_profile she was day to work with and has a variety of coloured wire that she uses heres mine:
  2. hey lades what are you (or did you) do with your rings before the ceremony? did you wear them, carry them with you, leave them in the room safe? Did you/do you trust the security of the rooms and safe to leave those super important and expensive rings there? confused about this!
  3. I arrive at my resort 5 nights before the wedding and don't know what to do with my e-ring, wedding band and fiancés wedding band. My e-ring is platinum and marks easily, i end it out recently to get buffed/polished and cleaned and its so pretty, the diamond is so much more clean then it comes with an at home jewelry cleaner, it looks like super sparkly ice! I don't want to ruin that gorgeous shine by swimming with it or what not. I'm a little unsure about leaving all that bling in a safe at the hotel (5 star resort). My sister and a few guests aren't arriving until two nights before the wedding, I could ask them to bring it, but then there is the chance of forgetting them and me having a melt down that we don't have our rings at our wedding. What are you doing with your sparkly rings? any advice?
  4. taryn - they put a bar out there? is that extra? I honestly didn't even think of asking about that!! nice call! yeah I thought it might be better to have a bit more space also!
  5. i think everyone goes through it, but like you, I'd love it if people would say no sorry i can't come, I don't even need excuses! the crummiest thing we have dealt with that you may also see is people who say no sorry can't make, no extra money. then about a month before the wedding we had my fiancés best friend who we gave an opportunity to have $400 off his trip (we had someone cancel for health reasons and the deposit was non refundable but it was transferrable) say no sorry still can't come. then we find out he just came back from the dominican...wtf serious? don't tell me its a money thing then. that was insulting. but my cousin did the same thing except he went 15 mins from our resort after giving the whole, I can't take a holiday this year, have no money. I think people forget about Facebook or something. I just wish people would tell the truth, or just say no flat out. I would have been less offended! good luck and don't let it bother you. All that matters is that you and your fiancé are there, which is one of the biggest things I think we all learn while planning a destination wedding
  6. well sorry ladies its not letting me upload but just don't pick pandero unless they fix the roof or something....
  7. Pandero terrace Spa terrace: piano terrace: we have 22 people including us and photographers, which do you prefer? spa holds 70 for buffet and Piano terrace holds 30. we may just decide when we get there! I want rectangular tables so I'll have to see which one we can set that up in!
  8. I leave in six days! I haven't got a clue where the time went! So I heard back from the lady who does the tours/spa booking (or at least has been for me) and she said they no longer offer ziplining for sure and from the rest of the email maybe no coba or wet and wild park either....it's going to be fun explaining this to my guests... Maybe we will have to treat them to xplor for ziplining. Also my wedding planner sent me cake flavor choices: vanilla, strawberry, fruit, lemon cheese.  Subject to availability: dutch cheese cake, white chocolate mousse cake with mint, blueberry cake, carrot, dark chocolate mousse cake with raspberry. Also don't ever pick pandero terrace, we had her take a pic of it to show what it looks like now and it's so desolate and depressing looking (I'm on my phone right now and it won't let me post pics) I will post them after. We are deciding between the piano terrace and the spa terrace (thoughts?) for dinner. We have chosen the Italian buffet. And are still debating a cocktail hour. No DJ, we are just bringing our iPhones and MacBook for the music (bringing speakers for reception, apparently they have a sound system for ceremony that I can hook our iPhones to) Cake we haven't decided on, I'm going to go with my bouquet I really wanted ($120 upgrade for white roses with blue dendrobium orchids). We are also getting a quote to see how much it would cost to rent paper lanterns and have them at either gazebo (spa or terrace). I guess you can plan a wedding in less then a month...but they should tell you that the major planning won't be done until 30 or so days out. At least me on site planner has been nice and easy to work with (minus scaring me about our photographer but not her fault).
  9. What are you ladies doing in regards to your wedding dress on the plane? I was planning on carrying mine on in the plastic dress bag inside the fabric garment bag given to me by the salon. I have heard of girls using the space bag and vaccuuming their dress - not an option for me as I have lots of details on my dress I'd think it would ruin it. I have also come across boxed to put the dresses in as well as heavy duty garment bags (like vinyl or something) Any thoughts?
  10. Once we forwarded the email she said fine and she's honouring the guest pass price from last year too ($2 savings woohoo!! lol!) I so wish they were a bit more organized, oh well!
  11. Also the confirmation emails say we only need to buy day passes for them just to clarify Has anyone else encountered this sort of crazy yet?
  12. SO...we gave our guest list to the wedding planner (we included del sol) and she just emailed me back saying that outside photographers must stay minimum of two nights. OMG WTF is wrong with them? We have confirmation emails from Yesenia regarding then being allowed back in September and then again in November when we payed our first installment. I may flip out real bad if they say no, which I can't imagine they would since soapy people here have used and are using del sol. Sorry had to vent! But on the plus side I got my e-ring back from being buffed today (been gone for three weeks) and my wedding shoes came in (both my heels and high wedge flip flops for later) and my swim suits I ordered from VS. oh and my bridal hanger with it reading mrs. X in aqua wire - so cute! I will post all my goodies when I make a planning thread - my goal is next week!
  13. J-me, are we allowed to use the credit towards extras for the ceremony? I'm thinking horsedrawn carriage maybe fireworks or harpist? What about for like cocktail hour? If this is possible I'm so excited!
  14. AlmostMrsMcD - there is a link where girls have posted their centerpieces check it out: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/9012/post-your-centerpieces-here If it doesn't work click on the forums tab at the top, select BDW general and the click on wedding flowers decoration cake etc and it's halfway down the page and says post your centerpieces here. There are tons of ideas! I'm bringing gel beads (they are tiny and dry in a packet but grow to the size of a marble almost) with a submersible LED light at the bottom with a silk orchid or a real white rose in a cylindrical vase. I'm going to buy the vases in Mexico because I'm not going to have room in my luggage! Keep it simple is the easiest way to go! SxcT's centerpieces were my inspiration! Check out her planning link it's one of my favorites!
  15. For the tours there was also a zip lining excursion called extreme kingdom zip line for 80$ a person, I sent an email asking about that so if I heard anything I'll let you know. I will be so disappointed because I know a lot of our guests including us really wanted to go. Also here is the tour info i got from a contact at the resort (Ana Karen Cruz) that I got told when the excursions are available: Excursion with Resort Credits: Tulum Express - Tue/Thur/Sat *$100 PP - Tour visit guide - Stop for Shopping -Pick up 9:05, Return 1:30 PM Chichen Itza - Mon/Wed/Fri   *$120 PP - Lunch- Tour visit guide  -Pick up 8:40 AM, Return 7:00 PM Isla Mujeres - Mon/Wed/Fri    *$75 PP - Shopping tour around the Island, Lunch Buffet included- Tequila Party at the Return to Marina Chac Chi- -Pick up 8:40, Return 6:30 PM Dolphin Premium Swim  - Everyday* $129 PP - 30 Minutes Swimming with Dolphins- Does not included transportation Golf Rounds Cost $200 and only at Moon Golf Course cost $240 Transportation included if the reservation is made  24 hrs in advance. 16. Chase, so exciting about your dress fitting! I had my final one on Thursday and it made me so happy about what it looked like (my dress was way too big on me) they still had to do a few things to it and I pick it up the day before we leave! Did you bring your dress home with you? I also had a nightmare after the fitting about my dress being too short because I bought a new pair of heels lol, I'm a nerd!
  17. Sorry sxcT I don't know why I thought that! chase thanks for the info on the maracas! I was just hoping they weren't going to be like $15 a piece! I haven't gotten that price list yet about rentals. And we leave two days before you!! It's coming up so quickly! I have asked for blue dendrobium orchids in my white rose bouquet and it costs $120 lol oh well it's the flowers I always wanted!
  18. Congrats! Your wedding was just stunning! The starfish chair hangers are amazing! I'm doing these also, did you just glue the starfish directly to the raffia? That's what I'm doing but I just wanted to know if that's the best way! Your party looked like a blast! Great thread!
  19. J-me - Wow you are so close!! I'm going to be there on the 26th maybe we can meet up before you leave to let me know if it cost you anything? could you also email me that price list you posted ([email protected] - cant download things yet), what was the price to rent the vases? we were planning on buying them from the walmart in playa del carmen. What location did you choose for ceremony and reception? Our WC is Karime Perez, she seems so much more helpful then the other ones! i think she is my fourth or fifth WC so far!! I'm so excited for you! when do you leave? we leave in 17 days! Oh and sxcT - What prices were the maracas you bought in Mexico - just asking because we haven't got a clue what they will cost and just dont want to get ripped off! Thanks! This board has been fantastic!! You ladies rock!
  20. hey we were starting to look into djs. and it sounds like you really liked doremixx, do you have a price list or anything? Your wedding was stunning!!!
  21. hanks so much jessica for the information!! LOVE your wedding photos!!
  22. i think we like the Chichen Gazebo for the ceremony. thanks for the help! We are still deciding on the reception locations though. Jszy10, do you have any photos of your reception? did you need to add any lighting? Also would you mind if I used your name to tell my WP that i know other ladies that have previously gotten married at ASP haven't had to pay the $300 for set up. Honestly its not much, the ceremony i made raffia and starfish chair hangers for the chairs on the aisle. the reception all we have is table runners, chair sashes napkins and our centrepieces (only 5). I agree that it is WAY to much to pay for set up!
  23. Hi ladies! just trying to pick ceremony and reception locations at ASP, and wanted to know which places you ladies have chosen and why? We only have 20 guests (plus photographer) so we don't need anything huge. Also they want to charge us $200 for reception decor set up fee (bringing our own stuff) and $100 for ceremony decor, is this normal? i have half a mind to go have my mom do it or something!
  24. hey was your reception a private function (did you pay the $50 per person)? or was that just a dinner on the terrace? I really liked the set up that you had!
