Good to know because I thought we needed to register it as well. Do you think I'll need to have it translated to English??? Getting married in the DR so my marriage certificate will be in Spanish.

I'm having the same issue. We only have 18 people attending. We intentionally wanted to keep it small with immediate family only. I know we will do the cocktail hour and the reception at one of the restaurants at the hotel but I'm stuck as to what to do after that. Let me know what you decide.

Thanks Norma! My mom actually got in touch with a travel agent she knew. I had no idea she even knew a travel agent lol Anyway the TA my mom called managed to get us a great deal. Instead of $1365 we're now paying $1148 YAY!!!!!! Only issue is we have to pay in full by December 20th

So when I joined this forum I decided to read through the whole thread. I'm proud to day I'm on page 94. Woohoo!! I'm getting there and I'm taking notes. Talk about informative. I'm feeling very discouraged at the moment because I've fallen in love with a hotel that is out of our price range I'm really in love with Majestic Colonial. But for our June wedding the best price I can find is $1365 and we're trying to stay as close as possible to $1200. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I win the lottery but I don't think it's going to happen. Time for a reality check. Don't you just hate those. So....For all of you who have already picked your hotel. Which hotel did you pick and why?

I'm almost positive I've seen these molds at Shopper's and Walmart right next to the Strips but I'm not sure which is better.

Never heard of it but it sound like a great idea to me...Thanks for suggesting it Allie2012: I've tried contacting SellOffVacations, Escapes and RedTag and the price per person they quote me with a group rate is the same as online without a group rate. What on earth!! I mean I know we aren't the biggest group (20-30ppl) but still... I'm getting pretty frustrated. Any suggestions for travel agents (Toronto or area) or comments as to what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Ladies, So excited to join you. Getting married in June 2012 in the Dominican Republic Haven't decided on a resort yet but I've narrowed it down to 4 (I think). I've found picking the resort to be the most difficult part. You want everyone to have a good time. And you have to find a resort that will fit into everyone's budgets. I love Majestic Colonial but at around $1300 it might be a stretch so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the price will drop. I got my dress at David's Bridal and am really in love with it. But I'm having trouble deciding if I should switch into another dress for the reception. How hot does it get in a wedding dress??? Ok now I need some opinions on this: I'm 4'11" and my FH is 6'2" so I really can't wear flip flops all day...I was thinking maybe bare foot on the beach to the ceremony and then a pair of high wedges once I get off the sand.
