Hi Camy I noticed in one of your photos your guests had bubbles. Was wondering how that went over as I'm thinking of doing the bubbles at our ceremony. Norma

Thanks canadiangirl...I'm going to have to look into ebay. I am unable to find any draw string bags under $15 here at home. I can't see spending over $5/bag. Keep me posted tori on how you fair out. Hey Ladies.... Would any of you know where to purchase "reasonable" priced drawstring sports packs? I have a few single male guests that I need to make OOT bags for and I just don't think the jute tote bags will cut it. Looking for 6-8 This is what I was thinking of, but not looking to have them personalized.

Hello Brides!!! Been a very busy and productive few days for me. Found a beautiful dress for my MOH in my area. Purchased it from a Bridal Outlet location...regular $200 for $99. Minimal alterations required and its the exact colour I was looking for!!! We even found shoes!!! So the money we saved from not having to travel to Southern Ontario to find a dress, went to a Victory Lunch that afternoon...LOL Great find on Linen Pants for my teen son's at Target Apparel. Suggested Retail...$85....their price...$59.99...reduced to $20. My invitations arrived on Monday as well. So pleased with how they turned out. Today I concentrated on assembling the invites, addressing & getting them to the post office. Well, I wasn't concentrating as much as I should have...after SEALING the ones to be mailed to addresses in Canada I realized I had forgotten to include the Vellum insert. I was so determined to get them all mailed today I skipped a step. Not easy for a perfectionist like myself to accept. BUT, I took a deep breath....and I'm trying to figure out how to some way incorporate them into the ceremony or reception...perhaps tying them into a ceremony program. So off to the post office I went. Pleased I had accomplished what I set out to do. Then...don't know what I was thinking....I didn't take into consideration the extra postage required for these bulky invites!!! I had personalized stamps made from a photo of my FI & I at Canada Post....it looked really sharp, but then the post lady wanted to slap on 4 extra stamps onto each envelope...NOOOOOOOOO!!!! I had extra Will & Kate wedding stamps at the house that would look alot classier...I didn't care if I was then over in postage. Back home I went with my invites.... I figure if that is all that does wrong in the next six months...I'll be a very happy bride. Cheers Norma

Torilynn: I love Le Cateau outlet!! I found one in Southern Ontario this spring that carried only party dresses and gowns, but when I returned a couple weeks ago, they converted it into a regular Le Chateau. I was devastated!!! Will definately check out Victoria's Secret. I am now searching for Gatorade singles, I see you purchased some at Big Lots in the US. Found a site online...CANADIAN...but I'd have to purchase a case of 64 for $52. FI & I are runners so the extras would eventaully get used but it would sure be nice to find these singles in smaller quantities!! You must be so excited that your Big Day is fast approaching, my fellow Majestic Bride!! Looking at some of your posts, it is so evident how organized and so well prepared you are for your wedding. Thank you for sharing all that you have with us Brides. Amjohnson: I've been creeping the Sears site for months now, There is a pretty Jolie Chiffon gown that caught my eye..unfortunately they no longer have the strapless version, and another gown has only 1 of the three colour choices available..purple. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Sears Spring & Summer catalogue 2012 to see whats new!!! Camy47: I'm in Northern Ontario (Sudbury area) . I took a look at Venus Bridals and dropped by the bridal shop in my city. They didn't have one aqua gown in the store??? I was shown the swatches of colours but was firmly told that once the dress ordered and a down payment was made...the dress was mine...no returning!!! Sorry...not going to order a dress I've never seen. I understand where they are coming from, but I want my MOH to love & feel good in her dress. This is the aqua blue shade I'm trying to find. I hope all Brides are having a good week!!!! Norma

Well, it took me a few days but I was able to read all 101 pages and take notes from this fabulous thread!! Thank you so much torilynnsmith for starting up... "Canadian Brides!!!!!!!!!" luvmoo: I ordered the same starfish with bow & tags last week for our wedding. I am so anxious for them to arrive. camy47: Struggling to find a dress for my one and only attendant (my beautiful 18 year old daughter). Unfortunately, this time of year is not a good time to shop for aqua blue. Le Chateau and the other shops only seems to have the darker colours out for Christmas & New Years Eve parties. The Venus link you shared had a gown that caught my eye and even have a store in my area that carries their line...lets just hope my MOH approves. capecodder.... for the welcome greeting! Hope to get to know you ladies better in the next few months. Norma

How did this gem of a thread slip by by me???? I have alot of reading to catch up on..only made it to page 24...lol 205 days till our big day and I've been going crazy searching the internet for ideas for favors, OOT bag contents, table setting and all thats inbetween. I was able to get my hands on some very cute natural jute tote bags at Dollarama ($2) for my OOT bags, burlap pouches for my "Wedding Week Survival Kits", as well as some mini heart palm fans & beach starfish favors for table decorations. Thank you all for your input...I look forward to returning to this thread again & again!!!

Hi Jenna326 Our wedding is at 1pm and dinner at 6:30. I did look into a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres but after seeing the menu and its prices we decided against it. When I asked our WC what our guests would do in between she said they could go for a late lunch, hang out at the pool....lol She was not pushy at all about selling me on the cocktail hour. Keep in mind you will be busy...after your ceremony you will have your champagne toast and photos I'm sure. The in between time could be used to head back to their rooms to freshen up and relax before your reception. Norma

Recieved pricing and contract...just wondering if I should also add the service they offer for the ceremony. Any Brides thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. -
After endless hours of looking at gowns online I have fallen in love with with a Maggie Sottero. Its from the Destinations collection, style SD5230...sadly it doesn't have a pretty style name like many of the others. I contacted the bridal boutique in my area and they do not have that style in the store but said they had gowns that fitted similiar. They also mentioned they could look into the company sending a loaner for me to try on...and I would have to pay the shipping. I planned on dress shopping this September and I'm not a 100% sure I would even look good in this style. Have any other brides faced this dilemma?

Hello Islandbride8 Congrats on your upcoming nuptuals. Our wedding date is May 7 2012, and I too have the early 1pm Gazebo ceremony with a dinner at the steakhouse. My FI and I were talking about a cocktail hour between the ceremony and dinner at the bar lobby. Would you happen to have the info in regards to appetizers & their prices?? originally Posted by islandbride8 Getting married June 29 at ME and we have 12 people including bride and groom. Our ceremony is at the gazebo at 1pm (boo, wish i could have a later time), cocktail hour at lobby bar at 2:30, dinner at steakhouse at 6:30. those are the only "planned" events we have. after the cocktail hour i want us to get some group pictures, so that'll prob take some time. oh, i almost forgot... after dinner we are going to go back to the gazebo with our Ipod and speakers for our first dance and father/daughter dance. not sure where the night will lead us at that point. i'm just going to go with the flow i'm pretty sure the only "dance" club is the disco and it opens at 11pm. you could go to the piano bar or somewhere else where they play music. i'll let you know when we get back how it all turned out
