I am having my wedding 11-18-11 and I was also never told that there was damage either and mine is planned for the terrace. I think I am on the Rooftop Terrace...which is Albatross. I'll have to double check! I wish we would have known we'd be there the same time so we could have planned with each other!

Hello all! My FI is taking care of the church paperwork since he is Catholic and I am not. His priest sent all of the paperwork to the church directly but said he would make copies. Is this the wrong way to do it? Did you guys also get married at the court house before you went or how did that go?

Hi SSantos...you mentioned that the waiters brought out balloons for your reception? I was just told by my WC Claudy that balloons are not allowed as decorations. I wanted to decorate the terrace with perfectly round balloons. That seems very odd. Thanks for your input!

I so wish I could do this. My resort (GCR) stated that it would be an additional $300 fee to release these. I was thinking that we could avoid the fee and do it on the beach, not on resort grounds. Thoughts?

Hi Daphne! Thanks for the review. What menu choices did you have? I am thinking of doing the shrimp with jambalaya and then trying to choose a beef dish. We were wanting filet but I'm only finding beef tournedos. Did you have a beef dish? If so, what sauce did you have? Also, what kind of cake did you have? Were you also charged the $350 vendor fee for the DJ?

He honored the 5% discount after we signed the contract! He has been great to work with thus far. We are getting married in November 2011 so will let you know how it goes after!

Do you think the fee is bogus then and how do I go about negotiating the fee?

Hello all! This is something that I've always wanted to do. I am getting married at the Gran Caribe this November and my WC stated that it would be ok but we have to incur a $300 FEE!!! She indicated it was the fee they have to pay to city hall for fire? Has anyone heard about this?

Darhyl - I am also interested in learning more about the spa amenities and getting hair/makeup done with the resort as I am booked for Nov 18, 2011. Del Sol is not the resort photographers.

Thank you for the review! Our wedding is Nov 18, 2011 and we are doing the Royal Catholic package with cocktail reception in atrium & reception on terrace with green carpet. Since you can't post pics, are you able to PM me some pics? How would you rate the resort overall for guests and yourself? I'm also interested in the dinner options that you chose! If you also don't mind me asking....what was your cost to GCR? I'm so nervous about additional fees that they will tack on! We are hiring Octavio as our photographer and want to avoid any vendor fees but have already budgeted for that. Thanks again!

Also attaching another picture of actual dress! The size is 10 and I'm a 4-6 dress size. It was slightly cinched to see better fit. Belt is not included as that is what the store had me try on for looks.
