  1. We live in Sicklerville right now but will hopefully be moving to Washington Township soon! I know, I'm sad we won't be there at the same time!
  2. We're pretty casual...Jcrew Khakis, and a Jcrew washed linen button down. Sleeves rolled up & barefoot.
  3. So excited for you!!! I leave in 96 days! I am jealous! Post tons of pics. Best of luck!
  4. Looks like a wedding is about to happen at the gazebo!! http://dreamsresorts.com/drerc/webcam.html
  5. Just the one we stayed at. Dreams was our first appointment and we fell in love. We had both been to Sandals before and agreed that it blows Sandals out of the water. No contest. Dreams is new and updated and the staff is extremely hospitable. The taxi driver said Dreams was so new and the other resorts were older. He drives to all of them so he thought Dreams would be our best bet and it was! Have you seen my videos? Youtube: BelCantoRagazza
  6. I wanted to look at Azul, but my fiance and I stayed down in Mexico in June 2011 to look for venues. We took a cab from hotel to wander around and the random cab guy said Dreams is as good as it gets. I mentioned The Royal, The Grand Caribe Real, Azul Sensatori, and several others and he said Dreams would be it once we saw it. Hope that helps. Also, I have youtube videos of our tour... check out my channel: BelCantoRagazza
  7. Hi Brianne, It's hard to speculate what flights may be like in 2013 but I will tell you what my guests are paying in July. We recommended travel from July 18-22 but we left it open for guests to choose their dates. Because of this, prices were flexible. Our agent at Liberty Travel told us and our guests they could stay 4 nights for $544 if they booked within the month. They have what is called price guarantee so if it goes lower, they get the lower price. It only took $50 to reserve their room at that rate. Many people booked but a lot of people didn't and are paying as much as $675-725 for those four nights. Some people extended as well. Non stop air to Cancun in July is $668 right now from NJ. Many people chose 1 stop flights for a lower rate. In all, I think our guests are paying about $1100-1200 for four nights stay and hotel. Many people are staying longer though, so naturally their price will go up. Hope I helped! Lindsey
  8. I have an aversion to mushrooms so we chose off the gold menu and mixed and matched. I asked if it was allowed and Yamina said yes. I ordered menu cards and everything off etsy so I hope that she doesn't go back on her word!
  9. I ordered fake flowers from Etsy also! I love love love them but I'm concerned about customs and packing them. How did you get them down there? Thanks so much for your blog and all your reviews!!
  10. You look so gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing!! Did the spa use good quality make up? That's my biggest concern!
  11. Our ceremony is on the beach but the reception is on the deck. The deck is in the sand on the beach so it works nicely. Have you seen my youtube videos? It's a bunch of videos 1-11 of our tour of the resort. It might help you.. www.youtube.com/belcantoragazza
  12. Ummm...we're getting on the beach and I've been down there... I saw no such things! No fire ants. If anything, bring some bug spray for before the ceremony??
  13. Past brides who had their hair and make up done at the spa... What kind of make up do they use? Did you bring your own? Is it air brushed? I am concerned about using crappy make up. I use really good stuff at home but I'd hate to bring my own make up when I am getting it done for my wedding!! It's kind of making me want to bring in someone from the outside...but I already made all of our spa appointments. Thoughts on this?
  14. When my fiance and I were down there we used Traffic Tours... It might be spelled Trafic Tours. In the hotel lobby there are plenty of tour groups to help you book excursions.
  15. Keep your ceremony at North beach. It is much more private and less people around to water. Also, south beach has a bar right in the sand and a child's play area. I was there and definitely, definitely you want north beach!
  16. Don't worry so much! Most of the dangerous parts of Mexico are near Alcapolco... on the other side. Cancun is very safe, provided that you don't do anything stupid. We planned on doing a snorkeling trip but it doesn't seem like too many people would want to. We wanted to charter a boat but it worked out to be between 60-70 a person and most thought that was too pricy I think. Check with the spa and see if there is a barber there. I would think there would be.
  17. When I visited the resort last June I saw a master suite, which is slightly bigger than the honeymoon suite. The presidential suite is huge and walks right down onto the beach where you would marry...if you chose the north beach. When it's not booked, they often let brides walk down from there for the ceremony. It was my understanding from Jorge that it is very very big and not that necessary. We're in the honeymoon suite.
  18. Davids Bridal sells under the gown things...corsets, fancy spanx, etc. I think you can buy online.
  19. You looked so beautiful!!! I am just curious, with all of the wedding stuff you brought down, how many extra suitcases did that take? I am really not interested in shipping and potentially losing things at customs. Thanks!!
