Thank you! I definitely did that. I did that multiple times actually (CC'ed them both as well as my TA) and they still don't seem to get on the same page. It's very frustrating. My TA actually has tried putting in calls to them for me but then I told her I wanted to handle it and I just CC'ed her on the e-mails as well. They really are all over the place! Hopefully the headaches will be worth it?

I wasnt planning on doing a registry either because like a lot of you stated, people who are nice enough to take their vacation time and money to come to the wedding is a gift in itself, but I do understand there are going to be people who are not able to come but still would like to send a gift so I'm not sure how to go about that...Maybe register somewhere easy like Target or Amazon and place it on the website but state that the presence at the wedding is a gift enough so please do not feel a gift is necessary?

Love it! Looks gorgeous! -
I just heard back from Donnalee who stated that she made a mistake and confirmed my original date without checking with Chandlyn who apparently booked it at the same time as she did for me...whether that's the truth or not, who knows, but she disregarded the rest of my multiple e-mails that stated I will take the date before or after at 4 PM because Chandlyn stated both of these are free. So hopefully I will get a confirmation back that June 21 at 4 PM is still available since it was yesterday when Chandlyn responded. Fleetmac: I am in the same boat as you. Some of my guests will only be staying 4 nights so they will be leaving the next day after the wedding. Like I said to you, I really can't worry about that because they should hopefully still want to have a good time despite having to leave the day after the wedding. If not, I can't worry about them!

Well honestly, if they do that because someone who is paying for their wedding instead of the free one wants that date, that's completely unfair and ridiculous. You are still a customer who deserves to receive similar treatment and in the end, you are still paying a lot of money, as well as bringing guests and business to their resort. Try to breathe and take a step back and hopefully they will get back to you soon and you can clear this all up.

Weight Watchers for 2012 Brides
greatbritain replied to DeeBrideToBe's topic in Weight Watchers Forum
Definitely! I have heard that from many people, that if I am able to breastfeed it will help lose a lot of the weight, but since I put on such a large amount, I want to be able to at least assist that weight loss. I am nervous to breastfeed after reading so many potential horrors but I am pretty laid back and I am hoping that although I know it won't be easy, I will continue with it. I look at it like this...it's like an exercise/weight loss regime. They are hard to follow sometimes but they are worth it! I love Jillian's 30 day shred and I have yet to try Zumba. I was always a big fan of yoga and last year my FI and I did P90X together and we really enjoyed the experience of working out together. Some of the programs in P90x aren't ones I was using (there is a lean program and a program to get "buff") so some we didn't get to do together but those we did provided a really nice bonding/work out experience although very tough...and long. That was the only real issue was that dedicating an hour+ a day to a workout isn't always feasible. -
Weight Watchers for 2012 Brides
greatbritain replied to DeeBrideToBe's topic in Weight Watchers Forum
Hi ladies, I stumbled upon here for some motivation and support. I actually am due with my FI and my first child in the next week or so...but I am already anticipating (or should I say DREADING) the weight loss process for our June 2012 wedding! I put on 45 lbs with my pregnancy and I am hoping to be around my pre baby weight in time for the wedding and I know the only sure fire way other than exercise is WW. I am going to sign up online (I hear they have a new program specifically for breast feeding moms and I am HOPING to be able to follow through with breast feeding for a majority of the baby's first year) but I figured since I am on this site almost every day I would look around to see if there were any forums and sure enough... Here I am! I definitely just bookmarked skinnytastes (great site!) and I am not sure if any of you are a fan but http://www.hungry-girl.com was always great for me to (even when not doing WW...I love her healthier "swaps". -
I am so sorry! I am having/had a similar issue in regards to the date thanks to Donnalee and Chandlyn and their apparent lack of communication between the two of them. I received an e-mail response to my work e-mail (I am not there until September due to summer break) and on there I have that if there is any need for something important, please contact our school prinicipal. Well apparently Donnalee chose to use that email despite me e-mailing her from my personal gmail (I forgot I had a signature at the bottom that also gave my work e-mail) and responded saying the date and time I wanted (June 20 at 4PM) is fine and to fill out the info. I guess she got my auto reply and then proceeded to e-mail my boss (so embarrassing and unprofessional) and ask that I respond to her immediately. Meanwhile I hadn't heard from her, forwarded my request email again, and got an email from Chandlyn on Sunday saying that time is not available on that date. My boss went back into the office today and forwarded me the email sent by Donnalee on Saturday. Today I forwarded ALL of the e-mails to both Donnalee and Chandlyn asking for some sort of communication to take place. Is the original time and date I want available or not? I received a reply back from Chandlyn answering my response to her e-mail Sunday but disregarding the e-mail trying to resolve the miscommunication today. I definitely understand your frustrations, my TA even tried to call them a few times today to verbally clear up this cluster of miscommunication but didn't get a response. I still have no idea what date it is, but now I'm extra wary that they will not have the date I select despite confirming it. I am going to have to confirm it periodically throughout the time prior to the wedding. People will want to party and celebrate, trust me. It will be their last night of "vacation" plus a wedding and it will be even more of a reason to live it up before having to return to boring, not tropical life! Try not to stress too much, you will end up having a great time despite the obvious lack of communication skills and organization skills that Donnalee and Chandlyn seem to display.

I used them initially and didn't have any problems with them. I only selected to use a local TA because it was just easier because we were on the same time zone and it was just a lot easier to get into consistent contact with her. I didn't have any major complaints about the TA I was working with with destinationweddings.com. She was helpful enough but I only worked with her for a few weeks.

Thank you so much for this little tip! I'm going to call soon. Is there a limit to the amount you can get?

I'm with the other ladies in sending out the STDs as soon as I secure a date but it's about a year in advance (June 2012). I will probably send out invitations in January which will be about 6 months in advance from the date. I assume though that anyone who is already interested in attending would have looked into it and made their decision prior to then but you never know. There are always the stragglers!

Great Site for Cheap "Jamaica" Stuff!!
greatbritain replied to QueenDiva's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
awesome! we will keep in touch -
Ugh and of course, I have to switch the date. I really want the ceremony later in the day, preferably the 4 PM slot and we are having issues securing that. They told my TA that they had it available and I e-mailed them in hopes of securing it and then after a week and a half of finally getting a response...the time was taken. Argh! If I have to have it at 1 PM or something, I will but I know in June at 1 PM it will be pretty hot and I wanted it later so then it would be a more seamless transition to the reception dinner. If I have to take an earlier time, any suggestions for what to do after the ceremony and between the reception dinner? I'm definitely sending out my save the dates as soon as possible (or rather as soon as I can actually nail down the exact date??) It's so much more helpful to give everyone a longer time with a destination wedding so they can begin to plan/save if necessary!

I am so sorry to hear that, but I don't think just you and your wedding party would be stupid, it's intimate but I definitely understand you have to respect your FI's feelings and wishes. I am very sorry to hear it didn't work but no matter WHAT you are going to have a wonderful, perfect wedding day that is going to be exactly what you want. Good luck with everything and stay on the message boards and keep us updated with everything.
