  1. Thank you! I'm still waiting to hear back from when I e-mailed asking about what time the reception dinner will be after the ceremony so when I finally hear back about that, I will remind them about the free package/symbolic wedding. I am really trying to stick to a low budget and am really proud at how I'm doing so far (thanks in large part to ideas from here!!) but also because I have been so easy going and the Gran Bahia really offers the biggest bang for your buck.
  2. Go Coco!! That's when you know what you are doing works, when someone comments on it. You can see the scale all the time and not notice that much of a difference but when someone feels compelled to tell you that you look great...it's working! Congrats
  3. I very well could have mixed it up, I'm 9 months pregnant (today is my due date) and I am a little out of sorts...but you get the idea! My question is still the same
  4. April, did you let the planners know you are just interested in a civil ceremony as you will be already legally married prior to arrival? I let them know but they didn't make any mention of it so I wasn't sure if they understood or were ok with it! I selected the free package and am just adding additional things and I mentioned that but they didn't confirm or make mention of it in my response. Just curious if they addressed it at all with you!
  5. I'm considering renting the gazebo just to have the "first dance" and all that sort of jazz. That's about the most traditional element of my wedding and I haven't decided if I am ready to get rid of it yet but I really don't see anything wrong with just having everyone go to the one of the bars afterwards and then on to the disco for those who are interested. I am still on the fence with that one, especially since I don't want to pay additionally for bartenders to be there so it might just be easier to meet at the bar and enjoy ourselves there! I am also getting married here, I just think it would be easier!
  6. Thank you! They made no mention of anything for dinner so I am going to definitely email them today to inquire more about it!
  7. THANK YOU! New fav site! 8. Your story is wonderful and I cracked up about the "ugly cry". We allllllllll know how that looks! Congratulations on all your hard work so far, it's so creative and beautiful and it really makes me nervous that I need to step up my game (and really try harder with my creativity).
  9. I love how creative you are. You and some other brides on here are seriously inspiring me!! Thank you for all you share with us
  10. I'd like to see a pic, Choeft201. I may be interested in buying it from you if you still have it!
  11. I'm so happy it finally worked out for you!! Donnalee is the assistant wedding planner and Chandlyn is the wedding planner and I am guessing that she is trying to give Donnalee more to do or more responsibility because they seem to have split up the work but it doesn't make it get done any quicker or more efficiently, that's for sure! I'm happy it all worked out for you!
  12. When should I lock down a time for the reception after the ceremony? Do they have a time frame they usually suggest to secure the time of your reception dinner. Also, when do you let them know you are interested in renting out the gazebo as well?
  13. That's so funny, I am considering parasols as well! I really want the bridesmaids to hold something other than flowers. I've never been a huge flower person (I hate how expensive they are and then they just die and get thrown away. Very depressing to me!) and I would love to cut off a big chunk of money if I could think of an alternative for them to use other than flowers. I love the parasol idea and have been toying with it
  14. I'm so happy it ended up working out for you and it is definitely for the best. Even if it is just you and your future husband, it is going to be beautiful and romantic and perfect! Sometimes I think it may just be easier if that's what I did. Looking forward to pictures!
  15. They look great, Tori! You really are an impressively crafty DIYer!
  16. It'd be great if he came on July 14! I'm due on July 16 though...I'll let you know if he ends up sharing your birthday
  17. I did research and definitely utilized the forums here. I picked what would be most affordable for both my guests and for us as well as offered a decent wedding package! Good luck, but definitely use all of the ladies here on this site to your advantage, they have really been a huge help!
