  1. I am getting married in Runaway Bay at the Gran Bahia Principe. I am really happy thus far with the prices, the reviews on this forum and Tripadvisor, as well as my TA's opinion. I am sure if you look around this forum you can find reviews of brides who have had weddings at resorts in Ocho Rios! Good luck
  2. Hi Kristen! I am sending out both save-the-dates (I made 200 smaller sized magnets for around $40 on Vistaprint) and invitations but I know a lot of brides on this forum have used electronic save the dates or evites instead. Vistaprint is very affordable, especially with some of the specials they run when you sign up for their e-mails but I am getting my invitations from a seller on Etsy who I found makes really cute invites and they are much more affordable than most of the invites I've seen! You just need to look around Good luck!!
  3. They came out pretty cute and now I am just struggling to find inexpensive smaller size envelopes to send them out! I ordered some off a website and had wanted a fuschia color and they just came today and ended up looking neon pink instead. Now I have 150 neon pink envelopes to get rid of somehow!!
  4. I am definitely doing a donation on behalf of the guests to two charitable organizations (two local non-profits that we adopted each of our dogs from) that mean a lot to my fiancee and I and I contacted them and they will be sending me little cards with their logos thanking the guests. As someone who has been to many weddings, showers, etc...I have found most people could care less about the favors so I wanted to do something that meant something not only to my fiancee and I and make a difference but would also include our guests in on something important to us. Good luck in deciding!
  5. I would e-mail Donnalee back and CC Chandlyn inquiring about the price and saying that other brides had been told $250. I have been in touch with Donnalee before and she has misquoted and I CC'ed Chandlyn and she replied with corrections so it might have just been a typo or a mistake. It doesn't hurt to ask!
  6. From what I have gathered from Chandlyn, you need to bring your own iPod speaker system like a BOSE home system or something similar!
  7. Ugh that is awful all around, I'm sorry...but you are totally right...in the end, you will be married and the wedding is still going to be amazing!! Try to stay positive
  8. Thank you! I ended up going with Gran Bahia Principe instead and I am really happy thus far with my decision from the reviews from other ladies on this forum.
  9. I know this is semi off subject, but is anyone or has anyone flown on Air Jamaica? I am trying to figure out if I should book through them or US Air. My TA is semi hesitant about Air Jamaica because they just got bought out but she said they don't charge or your first checked bag and US Air charges for each checked bag and is a little more expensive than the Air Jamaica flight. I'm just curious if anyone else has any opinion or suggestions. Thanks ladies
  10. Gorgeous!! Oh man thank you SO much for this review. It just made me really excited and feel even more secure about my decision!! Congrats
  11. Agreed...most people who post reviews typically only post negatives ones (people are more likely to take time out to complain than to compliment) more often than positive ones so the fact that GBP got that many positive reviews is a really good sign!
  12. The back details are really pretty and different, it looks great on you!!
  13. Ah! So exciting!! Have the best time and cannot wait to hear your review and see all of your pictures when you return! Have the best time and CONGRATULATIONS
  14. I'm just seeing this thread so I figured I'd post! User Name: greatbritain Name: Brittany and Brett Location: Gran Bahia Principe Wedding: June 21, 2012 Travel Dates: 06/18/12 - 06/25/12 Just received my STD magnets I made on Vistaprint today so getting excited to move forward!
  15. I e-mailed the Jamaica tourism board and requested brochures and they said they'd send some right out! I'll let you know how many I get and how they are
  16. The towels are adorable! I favorited the shop on etsy because I think they are a really cute bridesmaid gift Thanks for sharing!!
  17. I've seen the bouquets of buttons and they are really cute. I am not entirely sure that I am crafty enough to make my own, that's my only worry! The parasols are very cute. I also found some mini pinwheels on etsy where she does custom orders and I thought that may be cute, a little "bouquet" of mini pinwheels? http://www.etsy.com/shop/aubabi78?ref=seller_info Not sure if that link works...any thoughts on that idea? I've seen people do the paper fans as well which I don't think is a bad idea, but I like the parasols or the pinwheels better.
  18. LOVE IT!!! Exactly what I'm looking for. You look gorgeous and ethereal!
  19. Congrats! 20. Thank you and YES I CAN'T WAIT! He is still not here. They don't let you go longer than a week without inducing you so I know he will be here by Saturday but man he must be very comfy in there I meant to ask you, did you decide on parasols for your bridesmaids? I am still thinking/looking for alternatives to flowers for the bridesmaids that don't cost an arm and a leg. I saw somewhere on here a really adorable seashell bouquet for the bride from etsy and I loved that as an alternative to flowers for myself by I am still trying to figure something cute and more unique out for the bridesmaids!
