  1. Hey ladies, Does anyone happen to have the template for the Pashmina tags? i seen some on here before that said " To have an to hold and to keep you warm in the cold" or something like that... but i haven't had any luck making one... does anyone have one???
  2. Hey Ladies!! So i know it was amjohnson who i was telling about the pasmina store downtown calgary... but for all those ladies in the calgary area... i went there today.. and they have all different colors... and they are 70% cashmere, and 30% silk. they have others too that are other fabric types too. they were priced at 15.00 per pahmina but i got them for 10.00 a piece.. then the deal was if i bought 10 of them, they would give me the 11th for free.. so for 105.00 including tax, i got 11 pasmina's. and there are soo many colors and styles! and no shipping costs! amjohnson, if you want me to take a picture i can..
  3. Yes i would like to know this too!!! as i also plan to take ALOT of things.. with the OOT bags, attendant gifts, and decorations etc.. so this is a very good thing to know!! Thanks for asking it!

Haha no worries!!! and i apologise for all of the spelling errors on my last post ( just saw them now) haha The most challenging part for us was the fact that our original Birth Certificates did not have our Father's names on them.. and they require those for the license. So we have to go to the gov't and order new Bert certificates, which takes some time.. then i had to find a notaries place.. after that it is easy sailin!! i am glad i could give ya the heads up! So i got a response from mty TA. she has contacted the ACV group rep that she deals with and is still waiting for a response,. but she did say to me that those promotions are for only select hotels! for example she said the Gran Bahia in Jamaica has that promotion.. but other hotels don't. She doesnt think my resort is one of them but she is going to double check for me anyway.. my view is, if it is a no go, then i am still okay.. if it is a go then that is a big nonus!! sure doesn't hurt to askl! As for the executive upgrade Tori, we had no minimum number. we got the executive class upgrade for free just for booking the group rate and what not through them. then after 25 people booked, we got 2 more exec class upgrades ( which we gave to my parents).
  6. OKAY!!!! OOT bag intervention is soo not even a joke at this point... I really DO need an intervention!!!! lol or i need to stop reading these boards!!!!!! hahahahah ( however i am addicted to that too so i would then need a BDW board intervention too!) lol So i went on my lunch hour today and ran to the mall.. and went and got 35 of those La Vive en rose bathing suit bags. They are PERFECT!! cheap and great fillers for the bags!!!! Yayyy!

Just to add to my previous post also, I know ti takes a long time to get the actual license.. but the resprt we are going to gives us the option to get a certified copy of the marriage documents while you are there, so that tyou can start changing your name and doing that sort of thing as soon as you come back.. so that is what we are going to do.
  8. We are choosing NOT to do a local leagl wedding or ceremony here before the wedding. we will be legally married in Jamaica... We also heard of the delays but i am getting my documents notarized this week, and sebnding them to the WC with LOTS of time! i am also sending them via DHL, or UPS or someone like that to ensure they get there in a timely fashion. all our wc said was that she needed them a minimum of 30 days before the wedding.. so to be safe, i will be getting them to her 60 days before the wedding!
  9. I think that it would actually look very sharp if your wedding is in two colors.. and the bridesmaids are in one color and the Groomsman are in the accenting color.. I say that is perfectly okay! as it just ties in the colors nicely..
  10. Hahahah Very proud!! and wlecome to the vistaprint bandwagon!! I have gotten my welcome booklet covers(brochure) made from there,welcome letter ( rack card) and my room key holder cards( business card) all made from there for free and i love it!!!! I am still confused though as to how the ladies got enough free things ordered to fill thier OOT bags with.. as you only get one for free... maybe i just missed the post explaining that.. heheheh I haven't seen the round stickers etc.. however everything i have ever gotten from there has been awesome!! good quality and great printing.. looks professionally done and awesome!! so i would think those would be the same.. and if they are free.. you really can't go wrong!
  11. I will check them out this weekend for sure and i will keep you posted! I was thinking of getting myself a white one and a black one, and then get my bridesmaids a turquoise one to match thier dresses.. and my mom a silver one etc... I was thinking of just for the wedding night as we are having our dance/reception on the beach, so in case it is chilly with the breeze from the ocean etc... I am not too sure if i will get one for all of the ladies, as i was thinking just the Mother of the bride and groom, the bridesmaids and the bride.. Mind you i will wait and see what kind of a deal they have and we can go from there hahah
  12. FYI to the Brides in Calgary! I was doing a search for Pashmina's as i wouldn't mind buying some for the girls... but i didn't want to pay shipping charges, as honestly.. by then you aren't saving much... In my research.. i found a place right downtown... called Pashmina Group. they sell scarves and pashmina's etc.. i haven't been thee yet but i am going to go maybe this weekend and check it out! i will keep you posted as to if it is worth it.. but i thought i would pass it along anyway!

I know!! just to add to this vent.. i received a PM from someone asking me for my welcome book template and for my other OOT bag templates.. and they have had ZERO posts!!!! i am not even going to respond!!! so i feel you on this vent... we all had to work for it... and what exactly are they doing with these templates... if they have had ZERO posts.. but want every template they can get.... ??? hmm fishy...

Hmmm... i have 29 people booked thus far. we got the free executive class upgrade.. already booked and confirmed... but no free trips! we did get a 2nd couple upgrade for executive class.. but i have emailed my TA again asking about the free trip for x amount of booking.. i am going to look into that and make her look into it also.. to see if we get that too!!! we are going for two weeks and have an upgraded room so i am not too sure how that would work, or even if it will work at all.. but it certainly doesn't hurt to ask! That is what she is gettin paid for
  15. I have only tried a berry one.. which i used with water but i have mostly drank the orange one.. i actually mix it with orange juice.. and it just tastes like a carbonated orange juice.. it is tasty! but i can't speak for the others...

Lord knows i have borrowed enough ideas off of all you wonderful ladies!! i am just payin it forward!! ahahahah on a second note.. i was looking at my reciept from my lanterns i bought a long time ago.. from weddinglantern.com and i thought i would let you all know... that i bought 45 lanterns.. on my own not in bulk... and it cost me 106.00 Canadian Including delivery.... so they are very resonable and i love them!!!! just food for though as when i was doing my research i checkled several websites for lanterns and for Canadian brides anyway... this was the cheapest i found includng shipping... and they claim on thier website that they are 100% biodegradable... so just something for you to look into should you be inclined
  17. No you don't have to rent out the restaurant.. you just have to have the bonfire package with the DJ, or i am sure you could also just get the DJ to set up on the beach and go from there... In our case, we are having a semi private dinner, and then we are going out to have a bonfire on the beach, with a DJ for the remainder of the reception and dance. So we are paying the 250.00 USD for the bonfire, and then 150.00 USD for the DJ ( all based on one hour, although i am thinking of renting it for two to be safe) and then for the bonfire, you pay for anyone in addition to the 15 people included... They charge you over 15 people, what they would charge for the open bar.. so either 7$ per hour per person, for a open bar national, or 10$ per person per head for intenrational open bar, it still works out cheaper to do this, then it does to rent the private dinner in the restraunt,, if you add a DJ and bar... so i am happy!
  18. Nice find!!! I love emergen-c!!!! it works like a gem when you are feeling sick with a head cold or what not... My mom has been using it for years and everytime my FI or I gets sick she brings us a few packs hahah... it is great stuff!!! I was lucky.. my mom loves it so much she actually bought a couple boxes of it to put in my OOT bags heheheh

Okay i just have to say I LOVE YOU LADIES!!!!! it is so comforting to know i am not the only one going mental over these bags!! and i love the fact that we can talk and laugh about it all together!!! you guys are so good!!!! keeping receipts and making a spreadsheet!! HAHAHAHA.. My visa and bank account are also bleeding... and i just Dont look at the receipts.. it is sooo less scary that way!!! hahahah.. infact.. i can tell you.. i purposely LOSE the receipts.. in the garbage... in my purse.. in the recycle bin.. yadda yadda.. allll good!!!! *sigh* only 6 more months of this madness before my big day... i am just hoping i can get some control over myself... i am like a fat kid on a smartie!!! you just cant keep me away from the dollerama... and any other place that would give me some cool OOT bag ideas..

I emailed the WC at the beach to inquire about dance floors on the beach and about providing things to light the sky lanterns..And also asked about the DJ.. but i just wanted to share the response with you.. and hopefully it can put you a bit at ease on the confirmation as to if we are allowed lanterns Hello Jennifer, Definitely you can have a DJ for the bonfire but we cannot set up a dance floor on the beach, it will be just the sand. We provide the lights, do not worry but it will be a charge for the DJ of $150usd per hour. About the sky lanterns do not worry, we can provide the tikki torches and lighters.   22. Hahahah That's a great Idea!! I am getting my Mom and possibly my sister ( MOH) to help me distribute them.. I will have sticky notes on the cover with everyone's name.. so i can keep track of who i gave them to and who i haven't.. So you could do that with your MIL to make it easier for her... she just has to give the book to the person whos name is stuck to the front of it! easy peasy lemon squeezy!! that way they have 5 hours on the flight ( in our case anyway) to look through and read the book... and play games.. and it doesnt cut out of the beach or drinkin time!

I am not sending a pre travel brochure... but i will be handing out a welcome book/Activity book at the airport as people come, as 95% of the people are traveling with us ( my book has a part one and part two) first half is info and details etc.. about the upcoming week.. and the 2nd part is puzzles, games and fun stuff for the plane to keep people occupied if they so choose.

I got those in July... i don't think it is still going on unfortunately.. but i know they have other 1$ deals.. i am like amjohnson heheheh i wanna keep going but i can't stop thinking about the 8 bags of luggage.. and how i will get all this.. plus my decorations etc.. to jamaica.. if i keep it up.. lol i am trying to learn self control!! eiiikkkk... it isn't working.. but i am sure trying!
  25. We have decided that in my welcome book that i made... we put in there for everyone to meet us at the lobby bar the evening we get in.. ( we get in at 5, asked to meet up for 8:30) and we would give everyone the bags then.. and sit and have a few hellos and thank you's to each person as we give them the bags. That way they get a one on one greeting, but everyone is in the same room, so it makes it easier at the same time.. I didn't want to do it at the airport because of the fluids and such in the kits, but i didn't want the extra cost of relying on strangers to deliver them either...
