  1. Well the slump was slowly being broken as my chair sashes and shoes popped up but I have sort of been thrown back into it. We are considering moving our wedding offsite because we are hearing prices changes are occurring with the resorts packages etc. Not 100% sure but that had me looking into other options. OH then out computer died I honestly felt like carrie bradshaw when she wrapped up her mac in a pashmina and took it in! ALL the wedding planning is on here!!!!!! Newais it is fixed now and FI made sure they recovered everything from the fried harddrive (havent had the heart to check if we lost anything!) Big news today is we are having some photographer issues SO with nearly 3 months to go we are now on the hunt for another photographer! I should be taking some time I have to get everything finished u but the slump persists... I am sort of ready to throw in the towel and forget about the wedding all together!!! Still love coming on to check with all you ladies!!!!! How's everyone else doing?!
  2. Kat those red heels are smoking hot!!!! Great choice Thank you so much!!!! I have been looking forever and with the fitting quickly approaching I had to decide. I am not sure about hemming so I will inquire at my fitting as to what they say but I'm thinking heels if it requires any hemming at all because I am already pretty tall!
  3. I get married in February so will post a planning thread once I get back!
  4. Great idea! I never thought to check a thrift shop! Then I can leave the suitcase behind!!!!
  5. Chelsea, Anudrm's dress is inspired by that exact real housewives dress!
  6. Need your feedback ladies. Do you think these shoes are ok or should I keep searching? Pressure was on with my first dress fitting on Thursday so I picked these up but am looking for some feedback!!!! I am likely just wearing these for a few pictures and doing a flat sandal for the majority of the day!
  7. I believe on the facebook group another bride said they charge $20 each hook and they are only the tall ones. I am bringing my own (not sure if it was be you heard say this before) mine are 3-3.5 ft tall each, I will be hanging shell pomanders from them
  8. I have my first dress fitting on Thursday so the pressure was on to get some shoes! I had been scouring the internet for months and just could not make a decision. I am planning to likely wear flat sandals for most of the day but I LOVE shoes and heels and just had to have a great pair for pictures! That being said I was having trouble justifying $200 + on a pair of navy heels for pictures sooooooo I ended up picking up these.... I am looking for HONEST opinions on what you think.... I can still return these so I am hoping for some feedback before I make the final decision!!!!
  9. I feel your pain! We made our RSVP date November 4th exactly 3 months before the wedding but now I am wishing we had made it a little sooner! Our group rate closed end of August so the November RSVP was mainly for people who couldn't commit that early on but we have had more than expect jump on over the last few weeks!!!! Our small intimate DW has turned into my big fat stressful day! I am also considering moving the wedding and reception from the resort to a private restaurant and beach since every time I turn around the resort has decided to up a price or start charging for something else!!!! I am hoping to get this all sorted out over the next week because to be perfectly honest I am so over wedding planning! Ahhhhh a vent always makes you feel a little better!!!!!
  10. We will be packing everything and bringing it with us. We have 2 bags allowed each so will be counting on that to get it there... we will see how we do!
  11. For my best friends wedding in july we wore jcrew dresses. I got a panicked call from my best friend and then bride saying that one of the bridesmaids hadn't ordered her dress and now they were out of stock in the colour (chocolate brown). I went on ebay and actually found the dress in her size for significantly cheaper! Mine was $300 with shipping and I believe hers came in around $200 or under! The only thing with ebay is take a look and act fast, if you want all the same style and colour you may have a tough time but always worth checking out!
  12. My mom fell in love with these for her!!!! I think she is going to order them in the grey or pink to go with her dress!!!!! I have other badgleys and I find they are a little hard on the ball or your foot but they're so gorgeous I just suck it up!!! There will look amazing, I love the idea of wedges but think these are a little tall for me, I don't want to be a giant over all my guests! Peach - zappos has them, I believe heels.com, piperlime and dswshoes.com also sold them! They aren't too hard to find!
  13. I much prefer the first one too!!!! Great choices! Have your girls decided which they like best?!
  14. Have you tried dollarama? I know in ontario we have the tylenol and advil 10 ct tubes for $2! I bought pepto chewables (48 packs) that come in sheets of 6 and put 2 in each dollar store craft bag and made my own bag topper. Thought this was the best option! Walmart also has the rolls of tums or the mini containers!
  15. Loved the back on this dress the first time I saw it!! I too could not pull it off but DiamondGirl you sure do it justice!!! You look amazing!!!
  16. Where are you located? Do you want someone close by or just in Canada? Choosing your travel agent is VERY important as you need someone you are comfortable with and can work with for the next several months!
  17. Nope!!! I think they usually send things as a "gift" but I could be wrong. Whatever they do what you are charged on your credit card through paypal is the only payment!!!! NO TAX EITHER!!!!!! I looked there originally but if I recall shipping was a little pricey? Mine worked out to $0.59 a piece so it is the same price but would depend on shipping costs from weddinglinens direct!
  18. Hi Ladies, Whenever I find a great deal I just have to share and today my 100 organza chair sashes arrived and I am so pleased with them that I wanted to share with future brides who may be looking to bring their sashes with them! I ordered my chair sashes from ebay seller http://stores.ebay.ca/vlovelife and could not be happier. I ordered 100 chair sashes for under $60 and they shipped to Canada for FREE (I am sure it is the same for the US). They are based out of Hong Kong which sometimes makes me nervous but they arrived in 10 days and packed in cellobags of 25 per pack so they will be very easy for me to pack and transport to the Dominican! They offer a wide selection of wedding decor items but I can only speak to the sashes! If you are looking for chair sashes for a reasonable price and a reputable seller I would highly recommend checking them out!!! Here is a picture sorry it is sideways but you get the idea, they are nice a long so there is no worry that they wont work on different chairs, I even think we will be able to use some to decorate the chuppah!
  19. I have to share this with all my fellow Canadian brides as it is something we were debating for a long time (FI and I) and finally came to a decision. CHAIR SASHES - FI actually made this decision after seeing pictures of the ceremony site with and without (as well as reception site) that he wanted them for the added colour and to be honest I was avoiding them but I did agree they were necessary. Well our resort rents them for $5 a piece (YIKES!) so that was not going to happen as we near 80 people SOOOOO I went to searching and found an ebay seller that sells a variety of wedding items. I believe I discussed this on the thread before because I was going to split with another brides but because our numbers kept growing it really didnt work out. Well I went ahead and ordered my chair sashes and they are AWESOME!!!!! I ordered from http://stores.ebay.ca/vlovelife they are based out of hong kong but offer FREE shipping to Canada, gotta love that! For 100 chair sashes came in just under $60 and they arrived in less than 10 days (TOTAL, not business days!) I wasn't expecting them for a month!!!!! I almost went to post this without a picture but realized I would hate me for it soooooo here is a picture of one of the sashes on one of our dining room chairs! They are nice and long so there is no worry that they wont fit the chairs! sorry it's sideways... don't know how to fix that! and for those of you worried about transport here is how they came packaged. They are very lightweight and packaged so well that I am just going to toss them into the suitcase! They have satin sashes as well, they are a bit more expensive! I am just so pleased with this purchase that I had to share! Can you imagine if I'd paid $5 a sash! Robbery!!!!
  20. Norma - when I went back to get more gatorade singles they were SOLD OUT! We ended up doing the rest of the bags with propel (gatorades version of vitamin water basically) I am a little disappointed we didnt get enough gatorade singles to start with but what can you do? Numbers increased drastically and I wasn't prepared for it!
  21. Are these real touch? Where did you find your flowers? they look great!
  22. Its a simply amazing "look" altogether! I have to ask, has fi heard about or seen the dress?! guests? I think this is going to be such a WOW piece at your wedding I cannot even wait to hear about the reactions!!!! I am so jealous, you can wear your dress again!!!!!!!!!!! I would wear it everywhere lol
  23. These are so fun!!! Great to see them "for real" maybe I should go this route... so confused so confused!!!!!
