I am wearing a Jcrew dress for my friends upcoming wedding (i'm MOH) and it was $300 with shipping/taxes/duty etc. I thought that was a little much! It's a cute enough dress but its chocolate brown, not something you can really wear again without looking like you are part of a bridal party!

For your invites I definitely think you should put the real wedding date. We had this all confirmed by our hotel and TA. I don't think I would be comfortable knowing it is up in the air!

We are going to stay in separate rooms the night before, I think FI will just stay with his Best Man (and brother). There is only one thing that he has been very adamant about and that was no "first look" or picture before the actual wedding. He wants the first time he sees me to be when I am walking down the aisle and I think that its really sweet. For that reason we'll stay apart. We too have lived together for over 4 years so we aren't exactly traditional but this will be our nod to tradition. The morning of I believe he is going to go golf with his GM and some friends so that will be easy for us not to see each other!

Great thread, we have been going back and fourth about this and still have not made a decision. I have been looking at dresses under $100... some under $50 even because I want to keep costs as low as possible. Whether they buy them or we buy them hopefully we can make it affordable! Not sure about the GMs outfits but probably a similar philosophy!

Great thread, made me realize how "un-original" the OOT bags items we were thinking are. I just keep reminding myself our guests aren't on BDW all the time and probably have never even heard of an OOT bag!!!! Keep the unique idea coming

Where are you getting married? I would say to just let your guests have "free time" they would probably appreciate not having the entire day from 11am- late night planned for them. If youre at an all inclusive there is lots for them to do and then they could just meet you at dinner!!

Wow, there really are some horror stories out there! We are covering all our wedding costs and travel ourselves. We didn't feel comfortable asking either of our parents for money towards it. FIs parents paid for our stamps for our invites and RSVP cards! They're great though!
