Our colours are Navy and Green. I would like to do navy dresses. We found a bunch of cute ones on a website one of the other brides recommended but I couldn't commit! Then I realized I am in love with the multi way or convertible dresses! So tonight I decided to make one! LOL I am diving into DIY full force! It turned out pretty well but I don't know if my girls might not be too impressed with the idea. My biggest fear is that they are too clingy. Anyways I am going to take it to show my Mom this weekend and see her thoughts. If they don't want to do those I have a nice new navy convertible dress!!! Cost... oh about $15!!!!!!

Thanks!!! I did design that as well. I designed probably 20 monograms for us (that wasn't one) and could not decide or be sold on any of them so I just did that for the invite (simple but works) well I have kind of fallen in love with it so I think I may use it more throughout our wedding! It was very hard to find a starfish I liked. That one is not even one I love but it does the job!!! If you'd like me to send you anything let me know! T

I was really excited to help Leigh design her monograms for her wedding. Her colour are so fun, bright and colourful that I just loved working with them. I ended up doing multiple versions of each because I couldn't decide on which of her great colours to choose from! Not sure which one she is going to use but thought I would share some of them to inspire other brides to DIY!!!!!

Love these! Where did you find them?! -
Oh! The black and white ones?! Have you already ordered? What are they like?!?! This might work for us, we have Black "His and White "Hers" leather passport covers, luggage tags and key rings for all our guests so blk and white mugs could "fit" I am sure I could give up the navy and green theme for a bit!

Key Card Holders
torilynnsmith replied to J and G 2012's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
If you so a search you can find information on people's OOT bag threads etc. I know a lot have been ordering from amazon and ebay. The resealable name badges (key card holders) can also be purchased at office stores. Good luck! -
Our hotel charges a $300 fee for "outside" vendor (photography). We are thinking about booking a room for our Photographer for the day of our wedding that way they are a "guest" with a fancy camera. That way we avoid the fee and I'd rather put the money towards a room for my photog than give it to the hotel for nothing! Has anyone had any experience with this? Does it work? Any idea where I would book this? The hotel does not have "availabilities" on the website right now but I am told closer to the date they will. Any information would help!!!

I am confused on the length too!!! Anyone who ordered the VS dress that can give advice?! I saw you were in Toronto, what store carries them?! I may go check it out! Another option is American Apparel. The length is pretty good but they aren't the "shiny" jersey material so they may be a little too casual for some. This is the other one we are debating on and only $40!!!!!

That would be my biggest fear for sure! Are you planning on securing a rate and inviting your guests to take advantage of it or are they all on their own? Since your wedding is in July of last year I would take a look at what rates are right now... know that next year they will be slightly higher but it is a great comparison to satisfy that "Will I get a better deal one month before". We did this in December and January (Feb wedding 2012) and our rate is comparable to what we saw last minute. Also you have the piece of mind that you are getting on a plane and to your hotel and not worry 2 months before that your trip isn't booked!

Hi Sabrina! Welcome!!! Your wedding is just around the corner, how exciting!!! What did you do for invites? We sent ours out last week. They were a lot of work but I was happy with the end product and am pleased the response we are getting. I am getting married in the DR as well at Majestic Colonial. I found this site back when we first got engaged (almost a year ago) but found it overwhelming and intimidating. I wish I would have gotten involved earlier because it has been a GREAT tool for me! I look forward to hearing about your planning process and seeing pictures!!! All the best tori

Jamie, Travel agents have access to the rates before the general public and the discount sites. The hotel websites often are not update and though the "online" booking is there will say not available, if you were to call the hotel I am sure you could book but because many if not all All Inclusive's are sold through Tour Operators the hotels don't do much booking independently. Online the rates for Canadian departures are not available until anywhere from 10months to 1 year before. Do your research and get a GOOD travel agent. This was the hardest part about our experience. Finding a travel agent you trust, who responds to you and who is knowledgeable is key!!! Also, someone who specializes in Destination weddings is a good way to go as they have more experience working with brides and large groups of guests. The first few TAs we dealt with had our guests from different departure cities flying out at all different days some of them only being there for a day or two while we were. This was so frustrating and they did not understand where I was coming from requesting that we all be there around the same time. Now in regard to pricing. There are many many many tour operators providing flights and packages to your destination and hotel. Find out who the different providers are (your TA can help with this for sure!) and look into the policies etc. Not sure where you are located but in Canada, Nolitours (not sure if they service the US) does a 1 time price match guarantee. This should give you piece of mind knowing that if the rate goes lower you are safe. Be sure to look into what rules and regulations surround these price guarantees. So many brides are opting for destination weddings these days that it truly is a business for TAs to specifically specialize in them. You have over a year until your wedding but now is a good time to get a great idea of what different tour operators offer and finding a TA that works for you. I know with our "group rate" we had to put our deposits down in order to "hold" an additional 30 seats for 90 days. Remember booking 5 months or less out does not give your guests much time to save or plan. Also I would be nervous of the risk of not getting the space in the hotel (I have heard horror stories) with DW being so popular this is a reality! Sorry the post is so long, I know this was one of my big issues when determining everything and I wish I had found a resource like this forum earlier on. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!!!
