First Aid Kit for OOT Bags!
torilynnsmith replied to JayKay's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Are they $3.67 a piece or am I looking at the wrong price? You can also get travel first aid kits at the dollar store. If you prefer the brand name, I have heard walmart has the johnson and johnson for under $2 AND if you head the the johnson and johnson website you can get a coupon for $2 off 2 so you get them for about $1 a piece!!!! I love the free shipping concept though!!!! -

Ahhhh Janine you are the BEST!!!!! Not only did you report back but with pictures, my favourite!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you thank you! What a great kind. I thought it was kind of silly everyone was saying we'd have to buy online!! Another bonus with walmart, we will buy them now and can always return extras -
Ooooo this is exciting Janet!!!! Popping babies out ASAP eh? I will look forward to hearing about that! One of my BMs who is getting married at the end of July has said they will be starting in Punta Cana on vacation for my wedding! That's kind of exciting to me!!

OMG! How annoying, I would have lost it!!! So what was the final decision? Is she back in the wedding?! It sounds like she is a little selfish, maybe she doesn't realize that it being your wedding doesn't only mean you pay for things but its also YOUR WEDDING!!!! I think we are lucky so far with our bridal party but I am sure our own issues will come up!!

Hi Tammy, I had emailed with Photo Souvenir a bit as well. I am not staying at your resort but I believe they may be the resort photographer for the Excellence in which case they are in fact always available. Not sure if you have a WC at the resort but I would suggest emailing them to see how you go about confirming. I agree with what you're saying so I would follow up about securing your date and package etc. Better safe than sorry. Ps. Their pictures look beautiful I am sure you will be really happy!!!

I know!!!!! I have gotten my mom on board with the "excess baggage" thing. I figure if each family member can take an extra suitcase we're covered lol You only need 1 suitcase for your personal stuff haha I do remember seeing somone mention saving all your receipts so that you can have them when you go through customs if you need them. I think someone else mentioned they wrote, wedding decorations, not for resale on some of their bags of stuff inside or something.... definitely something I will be looking into further closer to the date!

torilynnsmith replied to torilynnsmith's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Hey Robyn, So glad you heard back about the hooks, I can't wait to tell my dad and FI because they thought my mom and I were nuts!!! I was thinking I could probably leave mine for you if you wanted to share them or you can't fin them! We actually ended up going with a different photographer... shhhhh!!!! I think Phil does great work but we had fallen in love with another photographers work and decided we should go with what we love or else we would be disappointed later. -

Hi Jacki, Don't know how much help I will be but I will definitely give you my opinion and 2 cents. Regarding question 1) - last summer we attend a wedding for my FIs cousin, it was NOT assigned seating just seat yourself. It was AWFUL! We arrived probably 15-20 minutes early for the reception there was a group of about 10 of us but we were willing to split up, we could not even get 2s at any of the tables. It was extremely awkward and uncomfortable my FI and myself along with my FBIL ended up sitting at a table with all the brides older aunts and uncles and it was a very uncomfortable dinner to say the least. Some of the family even ate off their laps because they couldn't get a seat. We are convinced there weren't enough tables but I said at that moment I would NEVER leave seating un assigned. As much as it seems more easy going and laid back the only way I think it works is if there is an excess of tables OR if you have your bridal party seating people as they come in later to ensure couples aren't split up etc. That being said I would definitely recommend doing a assigned seating or assigned tables. You could do a nice seating chart up with table numbers and then people could decide who they sit beside etc. but at least that way you know your guests will all get their butts in seats and at least be with SOMEONE they know. I think it would be much worse to be split up from your partner/wife/husband etc. than to be sat at the "boring" table LOL Mixing of the groups is normal at weddings, keep people with similar interests or backgrounds together my suggestion would be FIs college friends FIs Coworkers Your Coworkers Your college friends When all else fails and you can't fill a table seat people who are there "for you" together and people who are there "for him" together as at least they have that in common. Regarding question 2) In my opinion there is nothing worse for the husband or wife not in the bridal party to be split up at a wedding, but the facts are it happens and that life. The nice thing about a destination wedding is that a lot of your group will have seen each other throughout the week and also it lends itself to a more comfortable and laid back environment. That being said, with the off numbers of your group and table sizes I would suggest maybe doing a sweetheart table for you and your husband! Just the two of you at one table and then your bridal party could just be dispersed throughout the rest of the tables with the groups whom they "most belong to" that way they can all be with their husband or wife or whomever they are travelling with annnnnd no one is cut out of the "head table". Another option to off set the "boring table" would to be to have you and your husband sit with your immediate family, ie. you mom and his parents. This is a nice way for them to feel special and involved and also to figure out your seating problems. After all, the dinner is just a small part of the whole day and once the meal portion is over most people move around anyways so this would just get you through this first little part and then it would be time to party!!!!! Sorry for such a long post, my FI and I have been talking about this a lot lately too because it is tough!!! Best of luck!!!!

Wealth of knowledge! Never thought of free shipping before!!!! I can't wait to see your OOTs!!!!! -
Another option for us Canadians is the dollar store. Depending what you are looking to put in your OOTs and what dollar stores are around you they do have "travel" sections. A few things that I have seen Body lotion Hand lotion Shampoo Conditioner Mouth Wash Deoderant (men and women) Wet one individual pack wipes (usually 24 in a pack) Kleenex (8-10 in a pack for $1) Hand Sanitizer (variety of packs, individuals, doubles, triples) Make-up wipes Bubble Bath Soap Mini Toothbrushes There is lots more, unfortunately I haven't come across any medication at our local dollar stores like some in the states have but for those things I think I will opt for Amazon or Ebay!

Hey Jenna, Have you checked out Katya Nova? She is AMAZING, I absolutely adore her work and her and her fiance Rob photograph together so I love the idea of having 2 photographers!! I know she is moving down to Punta Cana so she will be around for your date. Definitely check her out both FI and I fell in love with her work and decided it was worth it as her photographs are more our style and we know she will capture our day the way we picture it!!! http://www.katyanovablog.com/

This may be a stupid question but what section did you find them? I haven't seen them before but I know sometimes things aren't where you'd expect. Also if you don't mind sharing, how much were they?! -
