Post Groom and GM attire
torilynnsmith replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thanks Leigh, that's what I think too and since I have the white dress I think it would be nice for him to stand out from his guys too!! It was actually Patrick's idea so that was fun! I didn't mind the Le Chateau pants but found them pricey. I still remember le chateau as disposable clothing and find it hard to wrap my head around paying almost $100 for a le chateau pants. We have another BIG problem when buying pants for Patrick.... he's a hockey player so has quite muscular legs particularly through the thighs (hed prolly kill me for posting this but I am sure there are other Brides with Hockey FIs that have the same problem!) so I knew the le chateau pants owuldnt fit him... he can't wear a slim fit leg for sure!!! Worth checking out though Leigh!!! I just think we can find cheaper pants.... -
February 2012 Brides!!!!!!

There are ways around this, like if you are bringing a photographer from home and they are coming for the week technically theyre just a guest with a fancy camera and the resort cant restrict them from taking pictures. Personally I think it is ludacris the money grab that most of these resorts do. We have to pay $400 for our photographer and her assistant to come on the day of our wedding, which is just nuts. I get they want you to use their photographer but still. I am sick of all the EXTRAS with a DW at an AI I think it is so stupid and frustrating!!!! AI should be AI but hey at this point we just have to suck it up and deal with it, it seems standard across the board!!! -
Weight Loss/Fitness Support for 2012 Brides!

I was really liking the yoga so I cut the gym out completely. FI had created a "workout" program for me last summer that was fantastic and actually increased my bust lol I am thinking I may get back to that. It was some push ups, and other arm/chest work outs that I think did it. I am AWFUL at push ups and find the high plank to low plank push up at yoga doesn't do my chest and rather work my arms so I may need to do some other pushup type things at home!!!! I am very glad I am not alone!!!!!! -

For FI we went with a long sleeved linen shirt but it has the tabs to roll up the sleeves if that makes sense? I think it is such a great look, casual but still dressy! Not sure for the GM if we are going to go with long, short or the same sleeves. We are thinking doing navy shirts to match the girls dresses... what do you think or should we stick with the white and khaki look? -

Hey ladies, So I am at the end of my 30 day moksha yoga challenge - my girlfriend and I modified it but we managed to get there 4-5 times a week which we were happy with!!!! I don't have a scale so I have no clue about pounds lost and I like it that way but what I have noticed is my flat stomach is BACK!!!!!! This makes me so so so happy, now onto the thunder thighs lol I feel a whole lot better having been back to exercising and drinking my daily "Green Monster" check out ohsheglows.com Now.... on a slightly not so exciting note.... my boobs are GONE!!!!!! I have always been fairly high busted so my boobs have also always been perky... well now theyre AWFUL!!!! I don't know what to do!!!! Any tips and tricks to "firm" and "perk" the girls?! Last night when I got home from my hot yoga class I pointed out my shrinking chest to FI and he just laughed. He wouldn't agree but he wouldn't disagree. He is loving the firmer more toned me but the no boobs... don't think that is something he is used to as he has always known me as a big C cup!!!!!! -

I think a Tiffany's ring is every girls dream so congrats to you!!! I think it is so true to have the "legacy" of a family stone, it really adds so much meaning to the ring and the engagement. Hopefully our future generations will be wearing our rings! -
Trying to write your new last name
torilynnsmith replied to FleetMac bride's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
My maiden name is SMITH...... I have ALWAYS wanted to get rid of it!!! Well over the last year of our engagement I think I must have embraced my generic last name and have become super attached to it!!!! I like how it sounds better than FIs name and how it flows with my first (probably because I am used to it). I am lucky because FIs last name also starts with S so I don't have to come up with a new way to flow my signature just have to change the last part of the letters lol.... his is so loopy I always add extra letters or drop something along the way!!!!!! Anyone having trouble with the idea of being called MRS. FI's last name??? Every time I hear it I think of my MIL and just can't get my head around being called that. I know some brides love the idea of becoming MRS______ I am not sure I like it so much lol -

I have a red head too!!!! Two red heads is unheard of lol no pink for you!!!!!!! Leigh I think the peacock theme will look great! I have heard of a few other brides doing the same, some using purple instead of blue etc. and I really think it'll come out nice!!!! -
First Aid Kit Templates :)
torilynnsmith replied to luvmoo's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I never saw the full page labels at walmart!!! BOO As for my chapstick labels I peeled one of the blistex labels off ( I actually peeled them all off to put the labels on) and measured it. Not sure what the measurements are but I will post it here. With the full page labels they are made to fit perfectly. For my friends bachelorette I did personalized lip balms but the aquafina long skinny ones and did the labels the same way, just measured them! Thats a great idea, I never even thought of that, was it hard to work with? I feel like Id get spray everywhere especially working with the small lip chap labels and stuff! How much does a bottle cost and how many did you need?! Here are some of my templates to share with other brides!!!!! Definitely do bouts, why not!!! Lots of grooms and GM dont do full suits and still do bouts!!!!!! They come as separate, jacket is like $175 and pants are about $80 I think... I went to check them out yesterday (Le Chateau Suits), the prices are online too if I am wrong!!!!! Picked up FIs white linen shirt while I was in the states, now we just need his suit. I got a Michael Kors shirt exactly what he wanted for $22!!!!!!! It was a great deal and MK is one of my fav designers!!!!! -

Looks great Bride 2012! The DIY is so worth it once your guests receive it!!!! -
Thanks ladies, it all just sort of came together which was nice. Now we need confirmed numbers!!! Our hold expires end of August so I will have a more accurate idea then. We went off 36 bags, 1 for every couple 1 for every single. We think we will get different bags for single guys (the draw string back packs maybe) so I am still keeping my eye out for those. I hope we wont need to pick up a lot more once we have confirmed numbers but I also hope lots of our guests are able to come so who knows!!!!!!!

It is only $20 for an extra bag for us (each way) so I think we will just do a duffle or two and then we only pay the one way because we'll throw the duffles in our bags on the way home to save there!!!! I am in Peterborough so Bowmanville isn't too far, was this at dollarama? I have seen the SPF 30 hawaiian tropics here too!!! Not sure I saw the aloe though, do you mind posting a picture?!

First Aid Kit Templates :)
torilynnsmith replied to luvmoo's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Sharon, staples wont print on sticker paper (unless you get a man you can sweet talk). I purchased "shipping labels" full page 8.5x11 sticker sheets and printed on those. It worked out really well because I was able to use them for a variety of different labels; chap stick, hand sanitizer, first aid kits, sewing kits etc. that are all different sizes but the label sheets work perfectly and also no waste!!!! I originally bought avery label sheets it was a 10 pack for $14 approx. I needed more and went back and staples brand, same thing was 25 pack for $12 or $13 so I got that pack this time. I was so mad I didn't see it before!!!! Hope this helps!!!! -
February 2012 Brides!!!!!!
torilynnsmith replied to torilynnsmith's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Thanks luvmoo.... I just don't see some of our groups wearing something like that on their wrist or around their neck. Either way I have bought them so we will include them, I am just afraid our guests might be confused almost lol! I have heard so many brides say what a "hit" they were in their OOT bags so I was all about them... now I am not so sure!!! -
I have always wanted to do Black Friday shopping but the thought of it terrifies me. I have heard it is absolutely chaotic and nuts but like you said, the deals are amazing!!!!! I forgot about my first aid kit, that is outside of my survival kit too!!! I just have to keep telling myself, my guests don't even know what an OOT bag is and I think they will be pleased to get whatever is inside!!!!!!!! I like the beach ball idea though, I mentioned it to FI and he said that would be fun. Another option would be inexpensive float rafts, I know we have a lazy river type pool and I always love to lay on something in the pool. I believe we got them at Walmart for like $3 last year but I think dollarama may have some too right now, that would definitely fill them up! I am worried about weight at this point. We only are allowed 1 suitcase each (thought it was 2) so I really don't want to add anything that weighs a ton!!!!

Congrats and Welcome!!! I am getting married at the Majestic Colonial February 4th 2012 and am very excited. Not sure if you know about the facebook group but it is also a great place for answers to your questions with that resort in particular. Check out "Majestic Colonial Brides" on facebook. Good luck and happy planning, I look forward to hearing what you decide!!!!

Jay Kay - it looks like we have the same ring or at least very similar. I have had no problems with my ring (aside from having to get it dipped more often than expected) and feel that you should have no problems as well. Something is very strange that the same thing keeps happening. I never take my ring off I wear to to work, yoga, clean just about anything. I think it would likely break my finger before I could bend the ring or any prongs to be honest (took awhile as the high setting gets caught on a lot). FI got my ring at Peoples, not sure if yours did the same but I would definitely get in touch with head office if it is a chain as they will be better to help you!
