February 2012 Brides!!!!!!
torilynnsmith replied to torilynnsmith's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
krsmith - you must weigh NOTHING now with all that exercise!!!!! It is so hard because as a kid I was "skinny" and VERY active with soccer and dance I think I maybe had 1 day off a week if that so weight gain and watching what I eat was never an issue. I never realized how spoiled I was until my metabolism slowed down as did my activity level and now I actually have to WORK HARD to keep my weight in check. 15 lbs would make me HAPPY, I will settle for 10 lol Fired up B2B - I will attach a picture of Galante below, not my dress but similar, mine is strapless sweetheart and there are so other differences but it gives you an idea! I did the same thing to start of Moksha and it was great, I just yesterday bought my 2 months for $199 (also a great deal, not as good as the $40) ohhhh and Wagjag has a 10 pass for $39 right now but it expires today, check it out as it is a good deal too!!!! I think I will stay away from flip flops for that "flip flop" sound exactly and go with more of a sandal with a strap if I do end up going with those. I have looked online and when I was in the states at Marshalls and TJ maxx they had TONS of sandals like I was looking for. I am actually kicking myself for not picking up the shoes for my BMs because I saw the Steve Madden Sandals I was looking for!!!!! I'm glad you like my OOTs, I am way ahead of schedule but it is nice to have those crossed off my list. Now we are just afraid more people are going to come than expected lol! Pronovias Galante (not my dress but very similar) -

AHHHHH good for you girl!!!! you will be so happy and so will your guests!!! This is exactly what our dinning room table looked like when I got home lol!!!!! The purple for girls and black fro guys will be awesome!!!!!!!! We are taking one suitcase with our bubbas and hopefully other OOT stuff. Some things can go inside the bubbas to take up less space too! lol Did the people at Canadian Tire think you were crazy? How many did you have to go to?! At Walmart the girl just did not understand what I was doing lol -
OMG you got a TON of stuff from OT for so cheap!!!! i will have to check out the starfish you got for your placecards, I am looking for some but they are all so expensive!!!!!! I never saw navy bags on OT just royal blue! Can you post the link for the navy ones?! PS. I will do your doorhangers today, sorry I'm a bad friend lol I have been away for the last little while and just didn't have the time

Any one work with Pastor Rick York??
torilynnsmith replied to mrullo's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
They are great!!!!!! I think if you were going to be married by the judge earlier in the day it would make sense to simply get married at home and alleviate all the stress of having to translate documents etc. Just my opinion! -
Dress Budget???
torilynnsmith replied to Bride2012's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
OMG that is SO exciting!!!! I hope that happens with mine too!!!!!! Love your choice, I am wearing a Pronovias gown as well!!!!! I would love to see the Tory Burch slides you are considering. I love love love love love my Tory Burch flats and I have a wedge as well, they are definitely pricey but worth it!!! If you'll wear them again go for it!!! (if you can afford it!) -

Another bride mentioned you can check online to see if they are in stock, this didn't work for me in the area I was but I am not sure why. When I got mine they were in the seasonal dishware section so with all the outdoor plastic dishes, trays and glassware. It would have been really easy to pass them by since they are bright colours. Also they were at the end of aisles around the other insulated mugs. Maybe try calling a few walmarts around you, maybe they could tell you if they have them?! -
Ohhhhh I love your reserved signs, definitely taking this idea. We wanted to do something for our parents to be used at both the ceremony and dinner for their chairs (an added something special) so this is a great idea!!!!! Are you planning on having them hang over the back of the chair?! Would love to see you vision!!!! Great work as always!

Luvmoo - so jealous of your 2 weeks, we are starting to think we should have done the same but know we just can't take the time off or do we have the money right now!!! I am sure it will be so nice to have that extra week once all the guests are gone!!!! Bride2012 do I feel your pain, the budget seems to slowly inflate with every little step, I keep trying to cut things and thankfully so because secret extras keep popping up, I am scared to see any other resort extras that come into play!!!! I am thinking we are around $12000 now from an original 10k budget, hopefully we can keep it there.

Dress Budget???
torilynnsmith replied to Bride2012's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Also try googling "dress name and designer" for sale, you may come across it on a kijiji or craigslist type thing in another city but willing to ship to you!!! Worth a try as well!!!!!! I would love to see the dress you are hoping to wear!!! GORGEOUS dress!!!!!!! I am glad price wise it worked out for you!!!! You will look absolutely stunning in it!!! So nice to hear such a great story about you are your FIs daughter (your future daughter!) it is so nice that you are able to enjoy this time with her and bond over the wedding, I am sure it will mean the world to her to have been a part of your special day and so included!!!!!! I think leave the sash ivory for sure, but like Bride2012 said that is just my opinion. I think the dress is stunning, this is similar to what my good friend is looking for so I am going to share it with her!!! I think the chocolate brown would take away from the beautiful lace and everything!!! You only get to be the bride once, embrace the white (or ivory in my case too!!!) WOW those are amazingly generous parents!!!!!! I love your shoes, I had looked at them over and over again because I think they are so perfect!!!!! -
Was at dollarama today and saw that they had advil travel size (10ct) for $2. This is a great deal, I picked mine up in the states for $1.97 each so you save the gas and the duty!!!! Also check the expiry date, the store I was at was all 2013 expiry but just a reminder!!! Also went to michaels, not sure if you know but it is Michaels "Dollar Days" so there is lots on clearance items and inexpensive items. The travel sewing kits I picked up in the US were at this michaels for $1.50 each (still a great deal for all the items in them and the handy travel size and collapsable case. I also picked up these nail files that are in the shape of a flower, will post a picture tomorrow for you. They are 2 flowers in each pack (made up of 5 or 6 files) for $1.50 as well. I picked up my ribbon today to wrap my bouquet and for some other decor things and the nice ribbon regular $5.99 is on for $3 Lots of great vases and other items on super cheap at michaels so worth checking out and don't forget your 40% off coupon (from online) in case you find a regular priced item... even if you save $1 it is still $1!!!!!!!!!

Bubba Kegs
torilynnsmith replied to hommer's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
They are both Bubba kegs so that is great, I will share my mental conversation with you and you can make your own decision lol The Walmart ones: -Colours are Black, Turquoise, Green (lime) and Red -prices are really great (but when you add in gas and the possible duty they pretty much even out when on sale at CT) -they do not have the 20oz bubba mugs with handles -tumblers have no handle but can fit in a cup holder The Canadian Tire ones: -colours are brown, grey blue, purple, and black -prices are good on sale, $5.99 for 20oz, $7.99 for 34oz -they had the 18oz tumblers we got (different colours) but they were $7.99 for some reason and they had way less -20oz mugs have a handle but would not fit in any cup holder So that is basically my pros and cons list. I personally prefer the colours of the walmart ones, they are more tropical and bright (check out my OOT thread for a picture) but the CT ones you could do black for the guys and purple for the ladies and it would work just fine if you aren't picky with colours. The handles are a nice thing, FI was really wanting handles but when I found the ones at walmart I couldn't pass up the price and colours. I also like the idea that if we are spending $5+ on a thermal insulated mug that our guests are able to use them again so the tumblers from walmart are nice as they can fit in the cupholder in the car etc. Hopefully those details will help you to make a decision that works for you and your group, the $5.99 20oz mugs at CT are definitely nice and I love the idea of the handles to be honest. The nice thing about CT is you could buy them and then return them if you choose to, not sure on their return policy but check that out first. If you aren't planning to go over the border for anything else I would say go for the CT ones as the gas and duty etc basically equal out the price when they are on sale here!!!! Good luck and let me know what you decide.... who ever thought we would be so confused about Bubba Mugs lol
