  1. Coco fill us in on your upcoming wedding! Where? When? What's booked?! Would love to know all about it!!!!
  2. THANKS Do your research 10 month list.docx MusicPlayDontPlayList.pdf
  3. This is my friends sisters wedding song.... she is engaged or even dating anyone but she is dead set on this song!!! I love it and think it is great!!!!!
  4. Thanks!! I think I am going to go ahead and do them! I like how they are a little different from the norm and still give me the height I am looking for on my table! I think I will throw some tea light candles around them too just for extra light! I will set up a tablescape in the next few weeks to show the finished vision! It's about time you showed up!
  5. hahaha I feel like that had a big *sigh* with it! Get someone else take it for you!!! That's a great idea!!!!!
  6. I would just make sure your resort accepts shipments, I know a few brides had talked about shipping their decor down but the resort would not receive it as they have too many weddings going on they do not have enough space to store everything (which I understand, some brides get carried away!). I would still be too nervous to ship my dress because even insured say it goes missing or doesn't make it, well ok you have the money but you are getting married without a dress! How many stop overs do you have? Do you change planes every time? I don't plan on having a ton of other carry on (I usually only fly with my purse so the dress bag will not be the end of the world for me, but I am also on a direct flight......
  7. This was the look I wanted for FI but he is not certain about it! I think it is a great way to infuse the casual in the "casual elegance" vibe of our wedding. FI will be the only one wearing a jacket so I think the flip flops will lighten the vibe a bit.
  8. Does anyone have a good planning checklist? I am working on mine now but am so crazy that I keep doing and re-doing it!!!! Wondering if anyone has a good foundation to work from!!!
  9. TRUST ME YOU WANT TO CARRY IT ON!!!!!! Gawd forbid your luggage gets LOST, or is DELAYED getting to your destination at LEAST you will have your dress!!!!!!! Nothing could turn a bride BRIDEZILLA faster then an MIA wedding gown. I think we will carry FIs suit on as well just to be safe!!!!!!! I even carried on my BM dress for my friends wedding last weekend just to be safe!!!!!
  10. OH THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I am so so so so happy for you!!!! I don't know London well so I wasn't sure how many Michaels (if any) were there, I always find Michaels are in weird locations and not in every town! I am so glad to hear it!!!!!!!!
  11. I also plan n laying it on top of the luggage in the overhead bins. If you are travelling with friends and family get you, FI and them to basically take over a bin and lay your dress in that one, shut it so that no one else tried to stuff more into it and you are good to go
  12. LOL I know I cleared out both michaels in the Buffalo. NY / Amherst, Tonawanda areas lol I can check out our michaels here in Ptbo for you tonight, I haven't seen them here but I'll keep you posted!!!!!!! 15 right?
  13. Holly just saw your date and if you aren't crazy like me and don't NEED to have your bags done 7 months in advance I would suggest waiting and ordering them when they come back in stock on the dollar tree website next year (February/March I am told!) You can order them by the case and even have them delivered to a dollar tree in buffalo and go over and get them! At least that way you are sure to get them, otherwise you could just make a trip and hope they have been shipped and are in store!!! Hope this helps Quote: Originally Posted by hatfiehm Hey Tori or others. I went to some dollartrees in wisconsin but could not find ANY of the totes that everyone loves so much. 14. Sorry just saw your post, I would suggest NOT going to Buffalo as I think my mom and I hit EVERY dollar tree in buffalo, amherst, tonawanda, niagara and the surrounding areas lol We were on a mission. Another bride on BDW mentioned she had called the warehouse and they are officially out of stock (probably a month or 2 ago) coming back in February 2012 (too late for me!) and what the stores have left is all there is. They are EXTREMELY popular, I even came across an ebay seller selling them for $10 a bag which just made me ANGRY as I know he bought them for $1! If this is the style of bag you are set on I recommend checking out the Oriental Trading bags, they are slightly more expensive I think 12 for $20 + shipping but they are the same style etc and you can get them all in one colour! Let me know if you would like the link!!! As far as I have heard from brides on here and other pages the Dollar Tree Jumbo totes we all love so much are pretty much SOLD OUT everywhere!
  15. MJKH: I don't know how but in the hustle and bustle over the last week and a half I must have overlook your post!!! I am so so so so sorry!!!!! I am so glad to hear you were able to get the sewing kits, they are $1.50 in Canada (I picked up a few more at our Michaels here just in case) but I think it is still such a great deal because I LOVE they they include the little scissors. I am sure the ladies will throw these in their purses our travel bags for the future so that makes me happy and the plastic case keeps everything safe from getting torn up or anything like that! I picked up one of the jute bags from Dollarama as a sample but we were able to find the dollar tree bags, Ijust love those jute bags too but they were hard to find. When other brides were posting about them they weren't around and then I just happened on a bunch. My mom loved the one I had so much I went and bought about 15 (3 different versions) and she is taking some of them to use at gift bags at christmas!!!!! I thought it was a genius idea as you pay $1 for a gift bag anyways, may as well give a cute reusable tote!!!!! I am using my Jute bags to carry all my wedding and DIY stuff from room to room in our apartment, they have officially become my wedding bags!!! I love the tag idea as opposed to the iron on transfer as it allows guest to use them again without our names plastered everywhere!!! Did you do an OOT thread? I would love to see what other items you are including in your bags!!!! The bags I got are 19" jumbo totes. They are the perfect size and fit a bath/beach towel no problem. Unfortunately they sold out VERY quickly online and in the dollar tree stores from what I understand. We went to 5 or 6 stores to get mine and just lucked in at ONE store, the rest were sold out. They came out with a 14" tote that I saw online I am wondering if this is what you saw (solid colour) they are the same quality but more of a lunch bag or small purse size. I didn't think they would be THAT much smaller but when I saw them I was SHOCKED! Your OOTs would definitely be full but I don't see the bag itself being re-used! Hope this provides a little clarification!!!!
  16. At my friends wedding this past weekend (I was MOH and therefore had to sign) she signed her Maiden name. She wasn't sure either but in rehearsal she asked the priest who informed her to use her maiden name. I think this is pretty standard!
  17. We are going to do real touch flowers because 1) I think the price for real is ridiculous and 2) I don't like how they look when they wilt and am afraid they will be wilted by picture time My friends wedding this past weekend in Halifax the flowers were turning before we even got to the church, I am sure they will photograph beautifully but why risk it when I can be sur eI get what I want by creating my own real touch bouquets! Thanks luvmoo, the grasses are just from... you guessed it DOLLARAMA!!!! They were only $1 so I think I will go pick up a few more before they are gone! I am afraid they will break in transport but think they will probably fit nicely into our LARGE suitcase where we will only pack light items with it! I am nervous to carry them on because even though they are "fake" I am not sure about importing them into the DR, I have heard brides have trouble convincing them their real touch bouquets are fake haha I am thinking of doing the bases with sand and just a few shells on top instead of the whole vase with shells!
  18. Thanks for the info, I figured if our "guests" on our flight take one overhead bin together than my dress would be safest above the luggage there. Also that way we know no one else will be shoving anything in with it!
  19. I'll have to take an inventory of how many I have today and see how many I may have left over!!! Did you get ur mom to check in London??
  20. ahhhh I'e seen these placemats!!!! I think Jysk here in Canada had them at one point!!!! I can't remember where else I have seen them but they are fab!!!!!!!
  21. Ya I love those flats I may have to go ahead and order them, I keep forgetting sandals will be tough to track down before my Feb wedding!!!!! LOVE LOVE the Tory Burch sandals you posted!!!! But I think the second pair are more "weddingy" and blinged is so nice!!!!
  22. Ya I got them for $1 in the states, unfortunately in Canada they are $1.50 (I ended up picking up about 10 more when I got home just incase) but at least they have them here too!!!!!!!! I wanted all green but ended up getting other colours too because I was afraid I wouldn't have enough! Better safe than sorry!!!! I am sure michaels is going to wonder why they had a run on sewing kits HAHA I will not be doing an iron on transfer, originally I wanted to but I didn't like the shiny outline it leaves and then I thought I want my guests to be able to reuse them so we are just doing a nice bag tag. It says "Bienvenidos" and it simple but I think it does the trick! Glad to hear you got a few more!!!!! I am sure I will have 5 extras so if you don't find them somewhere else I'll be able to help you out!!!! SKU 4 00100 84751 0 Travel Sewing Kit 20pc (saw you ended up tracking them down but for any other brides who are calling this may make it easier!) HAHAHA I am glad to hear it!!!!!! How many do you need all together?
  23. Thanks girls you're the best!!!!! We were a little behind with our booking I think and didn't start our group til May (also when we booked) so we'll see what happens. I am just hoping people get BOOKING.... I don't want to remind people but I also don't want them to forget!!!!
  24. Oh the decor dilemma .... Our resort does a basic ceremony, dinner and reception set up and then there is a cost for different decor packages. The basic package includes white chair covers, white linens (at dinner and reception) and that type of stuff. We can add aisle runner, chair sashes, colour on gazebo or chuppa arch etc. We have opted for the basic set up package as i did not want to spend upwards of $1000 for decor that I don't even LOVE. There is only one or 2 elements from each package that I even like. SOOOOOOOOOOO here is what I have decided. Ceremony - Shell pomanders on 3.5 ft sheppards hooks to line the aisle - no aisle runner - no additional colour to chuppa - no chair sashes - reserved seating signs for parents I am considering doing raffia and starfish but they would have to be pinned to the backs of the chairs and I just don't think it is worth it so I will likely just keep it nice and simple. I am loving incorporating white into my colours so the white chair covers and white billowing curtains for my arch I think will be perfect! Dinner We are doing a semi private dinner so I do not want a TON of decor. - MR and MRS chair signs for FI and My chairs at dinner - Reserved seating signs (same as ceremony) for parents - Possibly using tule (i bought for another project and ended up not using) in our colour to run down the middle of the table - 4 or so centre pieces on the table I cannot decide whether to use the BM and my bouquet as the centre pieces and save on some cost or do something a little different... I really like height in centrepieces so this is what I came up with let me know what you think (sorry the picture is sideways.... the second is a close up of the shells at the end of the grasses) Reception - centrepieces on all round tables - maybe use the sheppard hooks with lanterns around the site of the reception (battery operated tea lights in lanterns) I really just want a romantic simple elegant feel and do not want to be lugging a TON of stuff, I already have all my OOT stuff to bring. Let me know what you think and where you think I should maybe add stuff or if you have any ideas!!!!
