  1. I just saw you are in peterborough!!!! We moved here in April and I am still adjusting but I got so excited when I saw another bride from Ptbo!!!! You don't see that many canadian brides but I have yet to come across another bride living in peterborough!!!! If you havent found it already join us on the Canadian Brides thread!!!!! Where are you having your AHR? I think that you have to do what works for you! Seating arrangement is SO SO hard! I am still struggling. If his dad and your parents get along seat them together, his parents obviously know they are being children and if they want to act like that you are going to have to treat them this way! (easier said than done but it sure sounds good!!!!) Good luck, I feel for you!!!!!!
  2. Hi to all the new Canuck brides!!! Join us on the "canadian brides" thread and the Canadian OOT bag info (for oot information)!!!!!!!!!
  3. I wasnt going to post this but I am so in love I just have to share!!!!
  4. OH and Kat, just noticed your profile pic!!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! So gorgeous!!!!! CONGRATS ps. 1 month until we are on the beach cannot wait, can't believe it is 2012 already!
  5. Jen did you ship and they never paid you? That is awful... ugh things like that really get under my skin!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Nice to hear you think our rates are good! I have seen some brides on the MC brides facebook group get lower rates but for different times of the year. The hotel is sold out for our week so I am happy that guests never had to worry about other getting last minute deals for nothing... that just doesnt happen with the Majestic and it doesnt seem to matter what time of year you are talking about! We have departures from Toronto, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Halifax I think that is it..... We were looking into do the jellyfish reception idea too but with kids and some older people we decided to suck it up and stick with the majestic as that way people aren't "stuck" and they can go back to their rooms and come and go as they please if they like! I hear the jellyfish is phenominal though, but after 4 attempts to Mayte and never hearing back I gave up (also FI put the kabosh!) Sandra is the WC at the first "info" email and she is awesome but obviously handling a ton of brides. She is away until Jan 7th but will get back to you when she has a chance so be patient. You can always try info2 I believe it goes to stephanie but if you arent in a rush (2013 they wont let you book until 1 year before anyways) than I would just wait. I'd be happy to email you pricing info and whatnot if that is what you're looking for!
  7. We actually moved to Peterborough so I know Bowmanville (and surrounding area) well! We have been looking into hiring an officiant outside of the the city, I have found a few that do the ceremony in their home or chapel for less than what I was finding most of the surrounding municipalities were offering! I believe our license in ptbo is $150, where did you find that does it for $100, was that in bowmanville? I like the sound of that!!! Thanks so much for the help, we too dont care much about our civil ceremony it really means nothing at all but we need it done to make it all legal!
  8. I see you're in Ontario, are you just doing your legal ceremony at city hall? That is what we have left to go and I am having trouble figuring it all out!
  9. Hi DomicanLeila...... I am not sure if you mean Feb 2012, or Feb 2013..... I know Feb 2012 is nearly fully booked now as far as I know. I am in Canada and here we get trip packages, it includes flight, transfer to and from the airport and 7 nights stay, our guests are paying between $1450 and $1530 depending their Canadian departure city, hope this helps!
  10. I was thinking of using the song you suggested Jen as the walk down the aisle song but I had already decided on Train... now I am not sure!!!
  11. They look like the Stuart Weitzman wedges but I am not too sure!!! I know Steve Madden and Michael Kors made similar styles last season as well!
  12. Definitely look into it, some photographers waive or GREATLY reduce their photography fees if you pay for their travel. Sometimes it is worth it especially when you are saving yourself the $300 outside photographer fee!!! Good luck with the search, let me know if you need anymore help, I had a hell of a time finding a photographer as we encountered a few snags!
  13. Do you want someone local Cineart photography is down there a fair bit throughout the year, she is AMAZING Julia Eskin - also down there a fair bit We booked Backroad Photography - she is coming from Texas though. Would you consider flying in your photographer or you want someone local? Local options that I had looked into Jorce Alloco Carribean Emotions HDC Punta Cana If I can remember any others I will let you know!
  14. I adore the ivory stress but you look stunning in both!!!!! Gorgeous!!!!
  15. Walmart in the US will have them again in the spring and theyhave the best price by far. Since your wedding isnt until may I would say wait, I bet you will see them around March/April!
  16. 20oz are definitely a good size and easier to back, the 34oz are pretty big! I think I will be bored of my drink in there before I even finish it to be honest. We went with the 20oz for our guests and 34 for ourselves, bridal party and parents
  17. We also started dating on 11-11! Congrats, your big day is so so soon and everything looks amazing, I can only imagine how perfect it will all be for you!!!! I love your thread!
  18. Norma you look amazing!!!!! What a great choice, and you have nothing to worry about with the scale... it obviously doesnt know WHAT it is talking about!!!
  19. We have a photographer again! YAY! Just finishing up a few things and then we will be ready to go! I think I have decided on my bouquet! Can't decide if I want something similar for the BMs or if I want just white casablancas for them or just white callas.... Originally I wanted Callas but then I found casablancas and fell in love, and I think integrating the green will be a nice pop against the white dress!
  20. I dont think you need a sash, honestly the dress is beautiful just the way it is and I feel like a coloured sash would just detract from it! just my opinion though
  21. I ordered navy sashes and am VERY happy with the colour. I was nervous they would maybe be too royal but they are exactly what I need. We are just using them for a pop of colour as our main colour for decor is the white so I am not trying to match to anything to specifically. What colour are you looking for?
