Hey there Soon2bMrsT....I just noticed that you are getting married a day before me!! So, I guess we will be there at the same time! I can't believe you were having the same issue with the WC as well. Thats crazy how we are leaving so soon yet they haven't reached out to us to get everything confirmed. I received an email today from the WC that was basically a forwarded message from the photographer asking if there was a problem with the photo package that I had selected as they were wondering if I had paid for my package yet. In the next message in the email was the reply from the WC stating that I have not paid for my package yet and she was still waiting for me to pick the restaurant for my reception! I read it and my jaw hit the floor. My reaction was....uggghhhh, I never received an email explaining when I was to pay for my photo package nor had I received info on any of the restaurants for me to pick from. So, how was the WC expecting me to pick a location if I didn't have the list from her? Maybe I will have to contact the manager as well and ask to deal with my on-site WC too. I am so over stressing with this Miami WC. It's bad enough that I am planning my reception with my TA since my Miami WC basically said I didn't qualify for one at MP since there are only 12 people attending my wedding! WHATEVER! They are still getting our money, so why do they care how many people are coming?!? I am just so ready to get there already and enjoy my vacation without all of this drama!

Exactly my thoughts too, CafeDelMar21! I am getting my TA involved since she seems to get through quickly to MP. I will see what they say. Hoping for good news....keeping my fingers crossed! If they offer private functions, why can't I do that but not have the dinner. They hear the word reception and automatically think dinner with dancing but I am trying to do the two separate in order to make it possible. I am sure I am not the only bride who has a small group going. We will soon find out.

Hi JennyLynn, Yes, the photography through the resort is Smile Market and I actually talked directly to them to book my photo package. They worked really quick and emailed back so quickly. Hi Ladies, I finally got an email from Joannis.....but I have a feeling it is only because I contacted my TA and she called MP and told them they need to get going on things and stop leaving us brides that are leaving in less than a month hanging. My reply from Joannis is in my opinion half-assed. I had asked in my previous email to her what my options were for my reception since I noticed that you have to have a minimum of 20 people for a private reception outside. I asked if I could do dinner in a restaurant and rent a terrace for dancing and she replied that I would have to do dinner in a restaurant and that I could not have a private function because 12 people isn't enough. She didn't offer any other suggestions or anything. I literally felt like crying when I saw that reply. I don't know what I am going to do or if there are any hopes of having any type of event that will feel as close to a reception as I can get. I am not impressed with no suggestions as to what my options were. I guess its back to the drawing board and I will have to figure out what we are going to do for a reception. I leave in 21 days and feel like my miami coordinator has not helped me at all. She has just made me more stressed leaving me in the dark. I really hope that my on-site coordinator contacts me soon since I don't even know who that is either.

I sent my preferences to Joannis but no reply from her as far as whether they were available or what not. I was told from the other brides that have gotten married there that they never really confirmed anything until their meeting with the on-site coordinator. So, since I am struggling to get exact answers from my Miami coordinator, I am going to just have faith that MP will make my preferences happen.

I too, haven't heard back from my wedding coordinator in Miami nor have they contacted me to tell me who my onsite coordinator is. I am done stressing over this and just going to trust that everything will work out. I chose MP because I know a few people who have gotten married there and they told me not to worry because they are really good there. Plus we have the brides on here that have already had their weddings and how great they turned out. I am leaving in 28 days....just so ready to go and enjoy our wedding!

How about a money clip with their names or initials engraved on it? Or personalized cuff links for their suits? There are some nice gifts that I found on thingsremembered.com, its a store that we have around my house that you can get gifts engraved for special occasions. Not sure if you have a store located near you but you can order things right from their website also.

So I just noticed once it was brought to my attention on a post on here that there is a requirement to have a minimum of 20 people to have dinner served at a private function such as the reception. I was planning on having a private reception until I saw that. I am having a small wedding with only 12 of us going....wondering if they will make me do dinner at a restaurant versus a private function. Its either that or have dinner in a restaurant and reserve a terrace for a reception just for music and dancing. I don't know....I swear, everytime I think I have things planned out, something gets in the way. I am sure it will all work out in the end but for the time being until we get there...its so frustrating!

Ladydi, You have been so much help to me lately! I feel more at ease knowing that you had a successful wedding! I also was able to get in contact with Katie regarding decorations today. I was surprised by all the great info that she sent me so quickly! One question that I had though....I was just wondering why your cocktail hour wasn't included if you had 30 guests? No one has let me know if my cocktail hour is included or not yet, all they have said was they will let me know.

Hi ladies, I have been in contact with the photographers for MP. Just a FYI for everyone, if you haven't chosen a photo package already, I would recommend doing so before April 1, 2012 as I was just informed the prices will be increasing after that date. Just thought I would let you know to save on some money if you are using the photographers through MP. Sarah

Hello everyone, I am just curious to those of you having issues with the wedding planning at MP. Did you ladies book directly with MP or did you have a destination wedding consultation help you book? Just curious if there is a trend in where the issues are coming from. I hope everything gets better for you. Sarah

Oh my goodness! I just read on here that Ivis is gone? Is that right? No wonder I have not heard from her. I would've thought someone else would have contacted me if she was leaving. WTH! I received my 90 day phone call back in January and was told she would get working on what we discussed and send everything to my email, but I have not received anything. I emailed her a few weeks ago and still nothing. I guess it makes sense to not receive any emails from her if she is leaving. But they should have had someone else contact me though. Don't they realize they are dealing with peoples weddings and brides are not going to just wait around to the last minute to hear any details regarding their wedding? I suppose I should contact MP and see if I can get another coordinator!

Hello everyone...I just discovered this site while doing research on moon palace. My fiancee and I just received our rates for April of 2012 from our destination wedding specialist and they are looking very good! Needless to say, we are in the process of booking and informing our guests to get in there deposits to save our date. I saw a few of you are planning on late April 2012 as well....we actually are planning on getting married April 21, 2012. We will all be a few days apart from each other and probably run into each other while we are there. My wedding specialist told me that to be married on the 21st, I will have to arrive on the 17th because Mexican law requires the bride and groom to arrive 3 days prior to complete all the paperwork and other marriage requirements.
