Oh good point. I think PPC is supposed to have free wifi? PPR does. If you're using 3g you're US provider is sure to charge you a pretty penny unless you have an international plan. ATT and Verizon have international data plans available starting around $30 a month - not too bad for just a month. I think I'm looking at 12-15k just for the wedding, reception and photographer but haven't nailed down all the costs just yet. We have the Aqua package but are estimating 50 people right now (26 over the 24 included in the package) and we're doing a plated meal with an extra entree option (pay per plate). I keep reminding myself that this is way more cost effective than having a wedding in NYC. Who have you ladies been working with so far? P.S. Random related PPC note in case anyone is interested... Paradisus Punta Cana and Palma Real have iphone apps! There's a google map with restaurants, rooms, etc marked. Worth taking a look at. Congrats!! I was debating between Olympus Terrace by the pool and Gabi Terrace... I liked Olympus Terrace by the pool (https://picasaweb.google.com/romanceatparadisuspalmareal/LocationsAtParadisusPalmaReal#5447951346393211650) because it looks like you can have a view of the beach AND the pool. I'll also be able to wear some heels since it's not actually on the beach/sand. Ultimately my decision was made easy because they told me in order to get Gabi Terrace I had to privatize the Gabi Beach restaurant which was about an extra 10k. I'm not sure if the beach area by Gabi Beach Restaurant requires the same fee. I asked Cemone if they had any other pics aside from the ones on their Picasa gallery -- she said no. I have scoped out the photos on Tripadvisor to help me get a better sense of the resort. I'm only 3 months away and you're probably farther along with planning than I am! Keep me posted!!

Has anyone else selected their menu yet? I just got the menu selections and don't know what to pick! Any advice from past PPC/PPR brides?

In my initial research of the Caribbean, I found that Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Aruba had the most AI resorts. Another option to avoid the legal paperwork hassle would be to do the official paperwork stateside before you leave and have a symbolic ceremony there. No one really has to know.

I think both dresses are gorgeous -- you can't go wrong with either! Having tried on Dress 1 and LOVED - i know it's definitely a bit more sexy and fitted than dress 2 so it depends on what you're looking for. Dress 2 might give you a bit more freedom of movement.

@mexbride83 I'm going to have the same problem because my base is round too. Everyone keeps telling me I should get a curved band that fits my ring but I want a band that I can wear solo. My sister keeps telling me that if they're not flush the gap will bother me. I think i'm going to do what i want! So glad to know things are working out for you so far!

I haven't decided on an AHR yet but geez, who decides what "etiquette" is anyway?? Have one and wear your dress if you want to! I'm sure that everyone who couldn't make the trip will be so happy to have an opportunity to see you wearing your wedding dress in person.
