  1. When I started looking I tried to get a sense of how easy the trip would be for my guests. I checked out sites like farecompare.com and http://www.travelmath.com/nonstop-flights/. Some locations may have more direct flights to/from your airport than others. Ultimately I found working with a ta who specialized in weddings to be the most helpful in narrowing down my search to two destinations. Knowing about how much my guests could/would spend for a long weekend, we looked at resorts in that price range and compared a few at a time until we ended up with the top 2. Only one had the date I wanted available so that made that decision easy You've got some time though. I planned my wedding in 8 months. I wish we had more time for our best friends and fam to save for the event. (However,we'd probably have more ppl attending - some we want and some we maybe wouldn't reeeally want) Now is the time to also start the conversation with the people that you really want to be there so they can start thinking about saving. A lot of Wedding TAs have payment plans so once you pick your resort, your guests will be able to spread out payments which should make it easier for them.

  3. Vettie, I love lots of bands! I had considered at one point just getting a variety of bands rather than a traditional Ering. Are you going to wear the Ering on the same finger as all three bands? The pink sapphire is so unique and beauuutiful!
  4. A lot of places have clear bulbs especially around the holiday season. I also found some on save-on-crafts - http://www.save-on-crafts.com/glassballs.html?cmp=froogle&kw=glassballs
  5. I just found this super cute idea (thanks pinterest!). Create your own wedding ornament keepsake using your invitation ... or sand from the beach at your wedding. You could use your bouquet charm, left over ribbon, place cards or OOT tags to decorate it. So many possibilities! http://christyrobbins.blogspot.com/2011/07/wedding-invitation-ornament.html (this site has step by step directions) http://oneartmama.blogspot.com/2011/11/homemade-holiday-gifts-1.html
  6. The invitation isn't a legal document. It's your wedding and your invitation so do want you want and is true to you. People may not even notice it. You could also consider, if FH wanted, to leave his last name off too.
  7. Those mini wedding cakes are soooo cute. I want to throw an AHR just so I could make those. I went with a reg vanilla flavored cake but hearing about all these fun cake favors - coconut, ganache, passion fruit- makes me super jealous and HUNGRY! Nomnomnomnom
  8. Oh MJKH Im so sorry. I can only imagine how stressful that is. Did they tell you when they expected the dresses to arrive when you ordered? I agree with Cateyedcutie. "don't call us, we'll call you" isn't acceptable. They should be able to give you a rough ETA.
  9. Thanks imadore and brenners!! FH told me he thought I should carry a cala Lilly bouquet. I think he imagined long stem calalillies (oh well) so I hope he likes what I picked!
  10. Ohh I wanna see your cake but I have to download it Only 25 posts to go until I can download... so close.
  11. I don't think I've posted my shoes yet... If i already did oops sorrrry! These are my reception heels: My fiance might wear a seer sucker jacket, so these would match. I might wear these wedge sandals if I can walk in the sand in them. I'm going to test when I get there. If not I've got a backup pair of wedge sandals.
  12. Congrats on finding your resort maridr2012! Although I'm getting married at PPR, hearing glowing reviews about it's sister resort PPC still makes me feel more comfortable with my choice (I did originally want PPC but my date wasn't available!).
  13. Here's my bouquet inspiration. I don't even remember where I found this pic now (probably somewhere on here, let's be honest!). I'm going to do an aqua ribbon on the stem for a little color.
  14. Congrats JBean!! I love that dress ... and that last picture -- LOOOOVVE!
  15. I ordered my band after seeing a mold of it last week. Im nervous i didnt pick the right band - i went for a curved band rather than a regular band becuase the gap was too big. Im worried we're cutting it close to our wedding date but it should be here in 2-3 weeks. I'll post pics as soon as it arrives!! Fingers crossed!
  16. Welcome and congrats! Island time is the worst when you're waiting on info but don't worry - they always get it done in time.
