  1. I can relate on the choosing the date! We were originally going to do it April 2015, then got pushed back to january/february 2015, then December 2014 and now it is officially moved to November 11th, 2014. Talk about stressful. Trying to pick a date went on for a week, trying to make sure the nearest and dearest could make it and we still have some people complaining but I've learnt there are always going to be a bunch in the pack no matter what date you choose. I just made sure immediate family could make it and those I wanted to be my bridesmaids and even then, one may not be able to make it. You still have some time to see who will make it, you have over a year and half. Like csho said above, I would hold off asking maybe until a year before. You are giving people MORE than enough notice, so I can't see why people would complain!
  2. Thank you for sharing! PS you did my cousin in law's wedding this past January - The Kozey/Madsen wedding
  3. Don't know if anyone else is still following this topic, but we have officially booked out wedding at Blue Venado! I would be interested in talking to other brides who are having their wedding here!
  4. Has anyone else experiencing not receiving a reply from her? We were emailing back and forth this weekend and I sent her an email Monday and have not heard a reply and she says she usually responds within 24 hours. I know even wedding planners need time off however I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me being unable to get a hold her. Here is hoping she responds soon!
  5. I will be sending STD magnets soon here but I was just going to send save the dates out and then put the website on the save the date. I don't think it's tacky whatsever. We are having an at home reception summer of 2015, so I will send invites out for that and even then, I will most likely just have another website and send invites out to the older crowd.
  6. Thank you for the reply! We ended up getting a pretty good quote from Daymar regarding having our wedding there and we are 99% sure we are going to get married there - just trying to narrow down a date, which we are doing this weekend. I swear this is the most stressful part – trying to ensure your nearest and dearest are going to be able to come and making sure the price is good for your nearest and dearest. FI wants to get married this November/December which gives me 9 months only. FUN.
  7. Updated post, unless the prices sky rocket when Day sends them to me tomorrow, I think we might book this beach club in the next week! I showed The more I research it, the more I fall in love with it. Would love to hear from other brides regarding wedding planning, ideas and such!
  8. Hi ladies!! I recently got engaged and have been researching off resort options for getting married... they are all coming in at between 10,000 to 15,000 for a reception for 40-60 people. I just crunched numbers for Blue Venado and it's coming in close to 10,000 or slightly over. Are my numbers completely out of whack here or is that similar (I know there are many options) to what you other ladies are paying? Also, they have on the wedding list that it's 50.00 for the night for open bar PP.. do you know how many hours that includes? As well, could you pay extra? Last question.. do you know how much it costs for the DJ to play an extra hour or two? Mucho Gracias in advance!!
  9. Thank you for posting this information! We are looking to get married off the resort and have a budget of around 10,000. Looks like it could be do-able for 40-60 people!
  10. Hi Ladies! I recently got engaged... actually last Tuesday night on the beach in Akumal We love the Mayan, we have been there 3 times now and are looking to get married there next year. I was orginally looking at having my wedding/reception at the Bahia Principe but now we are looking at getting married off the resort. I've done some research and I am waiting on an email back from Kristee at Fresa weddings but I was wondering for all of you brides out there who got married at a off resort site, what did your budget look like? We wouldn't be staying at the wedding location, we would be staying at the Bahia and then just having the reception/wedding there. Rough count of who I think would actually come this morning put us at between 40-60 people. Muchos Gracias in advance!
  11. I'm looking at the Akiin Beach Club currently for our wedding in early 2015! Looks amazing.. Just waiting on to see if it fits in our budget. Past Akiin beach brides, if you don't mind me asking what you spent? We are looking at spending 10,000 or as close to that as we can for 40-60 guests and I am not sure if that is going to be enough or if it is enough.. oh this wedding planning is fun LOL. I reached out to Fresa Weddings, Kristee seems so wonderful already and reading the reviews on her, I am crossing my fingers that the wedding God's shine down and this can work out!
  12. I would be interested in hearing how things went... We are looking at Akiin as a possible venue!
  13. Hi ladies! I have been a lurker on this website for some time but now am finally engaged! He proposed on Tuesday night actually while we were at Coba beach at the this very resort... It was so perfect because we love this resort & Mexico No date yet, thinking next March/April at the Tulum part of the resort. Can't wait! 15 minutes before he proposed, we were walking out of the Don Pablo a la carte and there was a wedding going on.. it looked awesome!
  14. Let me know how appy couple turns out, it looks pretty cool! Not ready to set up a website yet but soon. The few websites I checked out on google using it looked pretty good and very easy to use!
  15. I'm not married yet but we've been to the Coba twice, going for a 3rd time next month and we love Don Pablo's, not sure if that's an option for you if you are staying at Coba for a wedding meal but I would look into it. The food is superb there, we try to eat there twice every trip and are never disappointed, plus the location is right by the ocean at the Tulum resort. I have to say ladies, you guys are offering alot of solid advice and help. I've been a lurker on here for a few years and now am starting to "plan" - I know an engagement is coming this year and we both want to get married at Bahia, just waiting on the proposal. I'm not one to count chickens before they hatch however we have been dating 8 years and 3 months, I'm allowed to start planning a bit in my opinion LOL!!
  16. Hey guys! I have been lurking here for a bit and this is an awesome website! I'm actually starting to post for my sister-in-law, sadly it is not me who has gotten engaged yet. My lovely boyfriend of almost 7 years is paying for his brother & his brother's fiance to get married as they have fallen on really hard times lately and have been engaged for 2 years now. They both want to get married but don't have the finances, so the family is banding together to make it happen for them in Mexico this fall! She hates planning so as her MOH, I pretty much have full reign to help her out with her basic outline of what she wants. I look forward to posting on here and who knows, maybe one of these days I will be posting for myself
