  1. I got my Sandals from Steve Madden. they have a few different styles of silver sandals with "bling"
  2. LOVE!! LOVE!!! LOVE!!! I really like the way you had the chairs done... Everything looks sooo pretty!!!
  3. I know Mayte has almost anything you want and if she doesn't have it, she most likely can get it for you. A lot of the things she set up for my wedding she purchased or made based on what I asked for. We didn't got through a mock up of the tabel setting, I just showed her pictures of what I liked and the colors I wanted and she gave me her ideas to approve or change. She does come to you with a lot of great suggestions and ideas. I know it's hard to say don't worry (I stressed a lot before the wedding) but seriously she really does know what she is doing and has it all under control. For the cake I would recommend fondant. I know they can do buttercream, but for me fondant is a better option. It looks neater and keeps the cake together better... not to mention it can withstand the heat better than buttercream. The flavors I had were: banana cake with creme brulee filling and Rum cake with Mango filling. The rum w/mango was DELICIOUS!!! The banana was ok, but a little heaveir for me... the guests enjoyed both flavors. Hope that helps!
  4. I debated this for a LONG time... I almost when with DJ Mannia because they had the LED dancefloor and everyone raved about them... but i didn't like the fact that they had a 4 hour time limit with the max of extending only 1 hour and they were pricey! I ended up going with Mayte's DJ and she was able to rent the LED Dancefloor for me too! The price for the DJ, MC and Dancefloor was WAY less than the DJ Mannia quote and I had them for as long as I wanted! They kept the dance floor PACKED. It was a great party, they may have played one song I didn't like, but everyone else enjoyed it and was dancing so it didn't really matter (besides I didn't give them a do not play list). They also played any song that my guests requested. It was a great time and well worth the money. I recommend Mayte's DJ 100%
  5. That chef's pasta was AMAZING!!!! now I'm craving some!
  6. We had our wedding cake and a sweet table (both paid seperate from the dinner) and honestly it was a lot of dessert... Just an FYI... I wish we would have cut the cake a little bit earlier.. We waited to long after dinner and as soon as my husband and I cut the cake everyone went to dance.. by the time Mayte came out with all the slices and placed them on the table a lot of people didn't eat them
  7. Thank you for the compliments! The sandals that my bridesmaids wore were by Sam Edleman called GiGi they got them in the silver boa print... here is a link to them: http://www.zappos.com/sam-edelman-gigi
  8. We got the bridesmaids dresses from a small local bridal shop. But they are by Mori Lee Style 831
  9. I'm finally getting around to posting some sort of recap with pictures of my day! I'm a very detailed oriented type of person so I put way to much stress on myself before the wedding.. but let me tell you Mayte has it covered. I did bring stuff with me, but she had a lot of great ideas of her own. We struggled for a bit in the beginning because I told her I wanted vintage glam with fushcia and Orange and she told me those colors were too bright. But after I had showed her what I brought and my husband told her we watned 'vintage hollywood' she pulled it off brilliantly. The weather the morning of the ceremony was beautiful. At the resort is was SOOO Hot... but once we got on the Jellyfish the ocean breeze was so refreshing that everyone was comfortable. After the ceremony, there was a HUGE wind/sand storm! The centerpiece on our sweetheart table toppled over and shattered and everyone was getting sand in their face and decorations were faling everywhere! it was a little crazy! The wait staff rushed to lower the "walls" just in time for the rain storm! luckily it only lasted for about 1/2 hour. During the rain storm, our videographer (Diego Cores - LOVED HIM!) wisked us and our photographers away to the second floor to do some video of us in the canopy beds (these are some of my favorite pictures). But then there was a power outage right in the middle of announcing our bridal party After the rain, a beautiful rainbow was in the sky! The food was DELICIOUS! After dinner we had dancing on the beach. we rented an LED dance floor (it was my husbands only request) and it was the hit of party! The dance floor was packed the whole night! The House DJ was great.. we didn't give him a song list.. However, we wanted latin music... so we told him merengue, salsa, bachata and top 40 and that's what he gave us. Some of the guests did song requests and he accomodated that too. If you have specific music you want though... definitley do a song list. We loved our party! We also had the fire show that everyone loved! Overall, it was the perfect dream wedding! Feel free to ask any questions you may have Here are some links and Pictures: My photographers Blog: Most of our teaser pics from our photographer are here... you can also read about our day through their eyes - http://www.amandablythe.com/?p=5752 A short video my photographer put together of our pictures: http://vimeo.com/45096704 My photographers facebook album: Alot more pics are loaded here - https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.490544604293045.124222.145543862126456&type=1
  10. Nope that wasn't me... I did a Vintage Glam Fuschia and Orange theme... It came out beautiful!
  11. Hi all! I wanted to check in and let you all know that our wedding at the Jellyfish last Friday turned out AMAZING! I know every bride that comes back says you have nothing to worry about with the Jellyfish and Mayte but it's absolutely true! And I'm sure some of you remember the few freak outs I had Everything looked beautiful..even after the few catastrophes, Mayte (and I) held it all together. I'm working on a detailed review and will post soon... I promise! There are a lot of pics up on Facebook now from my photographer, but she will be adding more too... If you would like to add me as a friend just message me or find me on the jfish brides group. -Jen
  12. The price list I have (which is the one currently being used) is the older one that's posted on here. I have it saved on another computer if you want me to repost it I can later. In regards to my actual quote, We were able to choose different options that brought our cost down considerably. I can't wait for the wedding on Friday!
  13. Sounds Amazing!!! Now I'm even more excited for my turn next week!!!! I hope your wedding day is Fabulous... can't wait to hear all about it.
  14. Hi! It stayed at the $7... but I didn't question her on it. It seems like a lot of the recent brides have been quoted $7. I was able to work with Mayte to make different choices on food and so forth to cut the cost a bit... Plus we ended up having a few less people than originally expected so that lowered the cost. Mayte will be arranging 2 bus trips back to the hotel (one about and hour after dinner and another when everyone else wants to leave) so I figured the $7 was worth it and left it alone.
  15. Question for past brides... Did anyone wire a portion of the money for the final bill to Mayte before traveling? We wired our deposit, but I was considering wiring a portion of the money due so we don't have to travel with so much cash. Do you think that would be a good idea or not?
  16. Borrow Away!!! I got the bottles at Michaels in the wedding section. They come in a set of 18. They were 24.99 but I bought them with a 40% off coupon so at 40% off they were worth it.
  17. Thank you very much! I ordered my parasols from Luna http://www.lunabazaar.com/ They are good quality and they processed and shipped the order quickly!
