  1. Ugh... I'm sure almost every bride goes through this at some point during their wedding planning... at least I hope I'm not alone. As I was searching for my dress, I fell in love with a particular dress Rhianna Royale by Maggie Sottero (For the longest time I have had a love/obsession for Maggie dresses) well, I couldn't find it anywhere to try on by where I live. And I didn't feel comfortable ordering it with out seeing it in person or trying it on. Well it's a semi-popular dress so I keep seeing it on brides. this is the dress: Well, when I went dress shopping I tried on a bunch of dresses... but when I tried this one on, I did not want to take it off! It was super sparkly and had so much texture. while I had it on, I had no doubt I was in love... my only debate was whether I should get it in ivory (like the sample) or white. I went with Ivory since that's what was reccomended and what I tried on. Here is my dress... It's an Allure C175. on the model: and on me: Anyway... so I'm going back and forth in my mind about whether or not I picked the right dress or if I should have just ordered the Maggie and hoped for the best. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me feel better.... did I pick the right dress?
  2. I can't not wait to hear how everything turned out! I hope you are enjoying your weddingmoon. :-)
  3. If possible, can someone that has successfully done a wire transfer with the Jellyfish PM the Bank Transfer infoto me? They sent me the info, but it's missing their zipcode and I'm a little unsure about some of the spelling. I need to do a wire transfer to them this morning and I don't want it to be delayed. Thanks!
  4. I know there are a few girls getting married there this month so hopefully one will chime in. But I would suggest you don't put times on the Save the dates. I would just include the date. Alot can change in the next year as far as what you want and how you want the day to pan out. On my save the dates I only included the Date, Location and Venue. Not sure if that helps...
  5. For the options I want and the amount of people I am expecting it was a lot cheaper to have it at the Jellyfish. I really think it depends on what you want.
  6. Definitely check out this thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/35759/my-oot-bags-the-big-hits-and-the-things-that-werent-used There are alot of great ideas in there. Also, there is a whole board with mutliple posts for OOT bags... very good info and suggestions. Hope that helps :-)
  7. I was originally planning on doing that, but just recently during my planning I decided to move everything to the Jellyfish. We are still staying a Melia, but I wanted the more personal feel fo the Jellyfish. There is a really detailed thread about the Jellyfish a few posts down, you should definitley check it out. :-) Happy Planning!
  8. Hi! I'm coming by to introduce myself... I'm also a midwest bride and a chicago bride! My name is Jennifer and I'm getting married June 29th 2012 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This is a second marriage for my FI and I and I have three kids (15, 9, 4). So between work, kids and wedding planning I'm a super busy and a bit stressed. But I am super excited for the wedding and vacation :-)
  9. Thanks! I had to use that Burgues Script...I just couldn't find a font that would compare. The Glyphs were hard to work with because it took a while to get it to look right, but I think after awhile I was able to get the hang of it. I do think some letters look more goregous though.. like the G... man if only my name started with G...LOL
  10. My shoes arrived... and although they are as pretty as they were online..there is one thing I'm unsure about. They fit good and are actually more comfortable than I expected them to be.... well as comfortable as any 4 1/2 inch heel would be... BUT I find the flowers to be different than each other... I'm not sure if it's just from them being in the box, but one looks bigger and more spread out than the other. I have them stored standing their bag instead of the box hoping that they "fall" into place. Is it obvious or am I just being picky??? Do you think they will look ok? Here they are:
  11. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!! I was wondering about this!!!!! This is a great idea! I have my heart set on heels, but want to be barefoot or with flat sandals but was very worried about the length of the dress. I really wonder if I can do this with my dress... if you don't mind me asking, what style dress are you wearing?
  12. Bondgirl... this set is gorgeous!!!! I will definitely have to check it out!
  13. I've been MIA for a few days... but can I just say great minds think alike!!! I've been eyeing this invite for months! I actually got the template from another bride here who had borrowed it from another bride here.... I love how helpful everyone is! I just finished working on mine! here it what it will look like printed: I will just need to burn the edges:
  14. Hi Megs! Once again...thanks for all the detailed info!!! Question...on your invoice I see that you had a bonfire set up. Was that on during the whole reception or did they light it up towards the end?
  15. I tried to post the menu's with the prices here but it gave me a hard time... Torilynn... check your mailbox...
  16. No Problem...anytime! I'm probably going to order them this week.... I'll make sure to post a pic when they arrive :-)
  17. These are actually new are are available for pre-order. If I were to order them today they wouldn't ship out till the end of November they are called Glaare. Here is the link: http://www.stevemadden.com/Item.aspx?id=61717&np=127_282-710_390. I saw the Grooom ones too but I think the crystals/rhinestones on Glaare have a more "jewelry" like pattern.
  18. Question... what is everyone doing about dress length? I bought my shoes, but didn't really think about it until after I ordered them. The heels are 41/2 inches... so if when I switch to sandals, my dress will be dragging on the floor... i'm sure I'm not the first bride to buy heels and switch to flats... so I'm looking to see how this worked out for others... anyone have any experience with getting heels shortned? thanks!
  19. Coquine, Ideeli is having a sale now till tonight with some Badgley's ... you might want to check it out. I bought, well ordered, my shoes last night!!! And for a steal at $99! I am crossing my fingers that they fit when they arrive. Here they are: I'm considering ordering these sandals:
  20. I love all those pics!!! I'm really liking the crystals and flowers for the arch... I may have to try and make something like that! I do have a logo that I had made when I sent out my STDs, I had made it. I could definitely work on a new one that could be used for anything on the actual wedding day. This is the logo I had made:
  21. No rush! I've been in training for work this week so I haven't had a lot of time to come on and post... I really like the suggestion of using the colors for "pops"... I already sent out my std's and they were Orange/Fuschia/blue... unfortunately they weren't very "vintage" since I didn't have this direction at the time. this is what they looked like: I definitely want to do the colored shoes...I've been on the hunt for hot pink heels, and will definitely be doing the bird cage veil. I had already bought the supplies for my invites (again, before I decided on this theme) and they are Message in the bottle invites, but I'm going to be trying to add a vintage flair to them some how. And with the BMs dresses I have no idea.... The inspiration I have for the ceremony arch is this: (this is actually the ceremony site for another BDW bride marirocks...) How do I take this inspiration and make it vintage and then have BM's to match? lol Not sure if this helps any... but this is some of the stuff I've been thinking and now need to re-think
