futuremrstgun replied to katelynn's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
ANOTHER beautiful planning thread!!! love...LOVE...LOVE it!!! THANKS for sharing and for posting ALL of the great templates..i'm going to use the book of jamaican drinks!!! woo hoo!!!! R~ -
love it all..i'm wondering if i should purchase the ayleebits.com $10.00 passport template..while i'm rather impatient...it looks so good, i almost wanna muster up the courage to make our 'program' multiple pages..but who am i kidding..i know i won't be able to stand doing all of the cutting and stapling, etc....yours look really good though. well done!!! R~

welcome..there's a 'slew' of info and ideas for invitations, etc...as a beach bride...you'll find a plethora of info, tidbits and tips!!! happy planning!!! R~

its so funny because soooo many people have said that i look like a different person..i think my makeup was alot different with the little bit of hair..my fiance says 'i don't have a long hair lifestyle'...i think he just misses the short and sexiness of the 'sassy' do..so i think i need to get to chopping it again and QUICKLY! i kinda like the thought of adding some hair to mine to create a beautiful weave but the fiance hates ANYTHING fake so, that's a no go... (ps..just called a possible hair dresser..the big chop may be done this weekend!!!) stay tuned... uhm, i'm not doing 'favors' per se, rather i'm doing OOT bags with lots of goodies to include the following... a Jamaica Tourist Guide book (got it for FREE from the Jamaica Tourist board - its nice and glossy and looks GREAT) Hotel Info on the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort (printed from their website along with a resort map) pre-boarding passes/Wedding Weekend Itinerary (see the thread of details) wedding survival kit (first aid kit, scrabble word-find book, deck of cards, shout wipes, hand sanitizer, etc.) - hope to finish putting those together soon...will post pics upon completion. all of that stuff will be packaged and sent pre-boarding...so folks can pack ALL of the goods with them and we can avoid having to lug all of that stuff with us to jamaica..i always OVERPACK so the fiance is worried i'll end up owing the airlines BIG $$$ taking ALL of that stuff with us..i'm hoping to save some $$$ by mailing it out... i'm COMPLETELY freaking out! i designed most of my DIY projects this weekend..saved the boarding pass file a million times....but guess what?!? i can't find the damn thing!?! so, i'm close to tears right now, just THINKING ABOUT IT..but...i'm trying to stay calm...fortunately, i took plenty of pics of what i did so if i have to recreate it all, i'll be fine..but DAMN..DAMN..DAMN!?! i'll DEFINITELY check out your thread on shutterfly....i too am looking for a new do..i'm pretty close to taking the plunge and chopping my hair off (again)..you see, i started growing it out in october with the thought that i wanted some hair for the big day..then the fiance tells me...uhm, i miss your short hair..i've been rocking a 'halle berry meets toni braxton' do for years...(crazy that the fiance said he missed the short hair cuz when we first met, he was all, i've never dated a woman with short hair..now he misses it..lol!...that's cuz he ain't never dated me BEFORE...lol!?!) anyway, i think i'm going to go with something sorta megan goode meets jill scott's new do...here's where i was...where i am now..and the inspiration for the chop in the future..thoughts??? BEFORE short and sassy...black then the brown with honey blond streaks... NOW brown with honey blond streaks..growing out...(with no shape hence the headband) INSPIRATION (jill scott's new do, the meagan good and one of the simmon's sisters following her big chop)...

i'm not getting married in cuba but i'm getting married in jamaica which, i bet is equally as hot ANY time of the year and while my dress is a chiffon number its a traditional dress with a train, bustle, etc..(check out my planning thread for a sneak peak) and i'm THRILLED to wear it...girlie, DO YOU..this is your big day and ENJOY the dress, the day and the whole lot...let the 'haters' hate..you, be happy and concentrate on just how terrificly fabulous you'll be in YOUR dress on YOUR day! JandG..the shells came from Ross...in a package that cost about $12.99/each...they have them in the candle section..and they come in all sorts of colors and combinations...some have sea life like starfish in them...everytime i come across some, i buy them...i figure its instant decoration...i'll line the aisles and maybe even scatter some on our reception tables..etc...good luck and happy planning!!! torilynn..yeah, i LOVE pronovias..and i wanted to go with pronovias..UNTIL i tried on the mori lee..which is a FRACTION of the pronovias cost...so it won, hands-down..i wanted to post pics of me in the dress but the fiance nor my family has seen me in it since i chose the dress by myself...so everyone will be WOWed when i walk down the aisle in that baby...i'm sooooo excited! hey, and THANKS again for being so generous with your boarding pass template..it helped A MILLION times over!!! Show us your wedding dress!

torilynn...i LOVE pronovias..i was going to go with a pronovias gown..but opted for a morilee instead..given the fact that this is my 2nd wedding i didn't want to spend the mega-bucks on a gown..so, i ended up with two...who knew! lol!!! i say go with pronovias but find a GREAT seamstress (outside of the bridal shop) who can do your alterations..they tend to be much more cost-efficient... happy planning!!! pintsize1...i did those on wedding paper divas.com...but if i would've found this site beforehand, i would've done them DIY...they were simply cardstock..and now i realize i could've done EVERYTHING myself...but, now i know... they were inexpensive but i'm really loving the whole DIY process that now, i think i could've done a better job for far less $$$... bruceg..not sure what the 'expected' turnout is..i guess you could say its 50% less than what it would be if you were having your wedding at home...then again, LOTS of brides have ALOT of guests..so you never can tell..i suppose it just depends on how the $$$ fall for your guests...if they can afford to travel, i'm sure they will. good luck, all and happy planning!!!
