  1. ok, fellow brides...i'm pretty serious when it comes to my planning AND i know that i won't be able to hand-hold the WC while i'm getting ready on my big day..so in order to ensure that my vision comes to life, i thought i'd do a mock up table setting that way i can show her what i want at the reception..my plan is to do one long table as we only have about 20 guests coming..so in order to have the reception feel 'very low' key and fun, i'm opting to do one long table..here's pics of the mock-up...(i found a way to incorporate my love of Scrabble, afterall) enjoy!!! R~
  2. beautiful pics! i'm not brave enough for a boudoir session but i applaud those brides who've done them...amazing!!! R~
  3. i'm an iberostar rosehall bride so i'm partial to iberostar...their properties are beautiful....i know you can't go wrong with those... good luck w/your choice! R~
  4. hi ladies! today's DIY projects are my luminaries... i saw some incredible luminaries on marthastewartweddings.com and so i had to have them... i plan to purchase vellum and print these for use on our reception tables with the battery operated tea lights..here's a sample of the 'soon to be' finished project...enjoy!
  5. torilynn...i'm using the ones previously posted for the ceremony and they'll be tied to the ribbons on the back of the chairs....i'm using the ones below for the rehearsal dinner... they will be placed at each place setting for the rehearsal dinner...i'm trying to keep our reception very low key and fun so we won't have assigned seating except for the groom and i...so the ones below will be used to reserve our seating.
  6. hi, samantha.i didn't really use a template per se...i'd been wanting to do reserved signs so i googled reserved signs and then designed one to go along with my stationery suite which includes shells so i simply cut and pasted a few shells and a starfish into a Word file...made a custom size paper 4.5 x 6.5 and used the same fonts that i've been using on all of my stationery items..passport, boarding passes, etc. i printed the signs on the 4.5 x 6.5 card stock...glued them to a silver 5 x 7 card..put the ribbon between the cards and then put them together...fairly easy and cost efficient... my supplies are as follows. purple ribbon - Dollar Store ($1.00/spool - 6 yeards per spool) card stock (came in a Correspondence Kit from Office Depot with 20 piecs of both white and silver cardstock) - can't remember the price on those but i think it was about $7.50 (on sale) elmer's gluestick i can send you the file if you like, but the fonts were downloads so they may not work for you...you can download free fonts at dafont.com..the ones i used were Scriptina and Riesling. until next time, take care!! oh and as always, happy planning!!! R~
  7. ladies..you are are so incredibly sweet...i'm having a BLAST with ALL of my DIY projects..the problem i'm running into is..I KEEP ADDING PROJECTS..so i think i'm going to trim my list and try to keep it as simple as possible... redginger..i'm contemplating that..but because i'm a sanitary freak, i think its best if i keep the table and aisle shells separate...feel free to steal the idea, i too couldn't find ALL shades of purple so i simply visited a craft store and Home Depot..bought some spray paint and some water colors and got my paint on. :-) its been a blast... ok, so for today's post...i did RESERVED signs for the aisles..still working on these..but here's what i've got thus far. enjoy!!
  8. hi, fellow brides! its been awhile..i've been swamped with work and lots of planning and so, here's my latest DIY project...shells...well, painting shells. my colorscape includes all shades of purple and platinum (silver)...so i've been mixing metallic watercolor paint to perfect the best shades of purple..some lavender, some dark purple, some indigo and well, you catch my drift...following are pics of the finished shells...woo hoo!!!
  9. here's our wedding favor CD playlist. Lucky, Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat One Love, Bob Marley You're All I Need To Get By, Mary J. Blige & Method Man Beautiful Surprise, India.Arie Just The Way You Are, Bruno Mars Make Me Whole, Amel Laurrieux So In Love, Jill Scott and Anthony Hamilton Til the End of Time, Timothy Bloom my honey and i have an ecclectic taste in music...i enjoy pop songs...and R&B..he's all about reggae and hip hop..so i think we've got a nice mix of flavors for our guests. 11. pintsize, please visit the Iberostar Rosehall Sisterhood of the Traveling Starfish thread..and add your name to the schedule...however, we need a Suites starfish for your big day...my big day isn't until October..so i'll leave a starfish for the Beach brides joining the sisterhood and having weddings AFTER my big day..but if there are brides that are getting married beforehand and wanna participate AND have a starfish that they'd be willing to leave behind with the WC then great...check out the thread for the 'low down'. THANKS, fellow Iberostar brides!!! R~
  12. daisymable...not sure if you'll like the hairdryers installed...they were the 'standard' hotel dryer variety...i stayed at the suites last year and my hair is short...but it still took awhile to dry...i'd bring my own if i were you...i'd hate for a 'bad hair day' to be in your future. good luck, girlie! R~ ps...are you doing a planning thread, i'd love to see ALL of your goodies...
  13. girl...YES!!! the mojo was on hiatus...the thing is..i got overwhelmed! with..plans to lose weight...which dress to choose..what will my hair look like..makeup ideas...then there's the overall wedding plans...trip plans...paying for this..paying for that...my mind was like ENOUGH ALREADY! so, i took it easy..enjoyed the engagement and decided i would restart 4 months until the wedding...that way, i could BREATH..and still have time to get everything together..i'm a planner by nature..so i tend to research...recycle and restart multiple times until i get EXACTLY what i want..i'm now there..i have the dress, the shoes, the decor on lock...my stationery suite is all set and now, i'm like, OK..I CAN DO THIS! it'll come to you...relax..enjoy your man..your new status and when the time is right..the mojo will show up and you'll be rockin' and rollin', baby!!! until next time, happy planning!!! R~

  17. GOT SHELLS!!! for everyone who has inquired about the shells...here's a peak at my loot and ALL of them have come from ross..(price range $6.99 to $11.99) there are other websites and stores that sell shells including the dollar store but i had a specific sort of shell in mind for my big day. i'm also including the inspiration behind what they will ultimately be used for...(to line both sides of the aisle and to serve as decoration on our reception tables...can't wait to post the AFTER photos)... R~ here's the inspiration of what my aisle will look like with all of the shells. (THANKS martha!!) i hope to convince my WC to add shells to my bouquet too. i wish i was crafty enough to make this...as i think it would be really beautiful for the wedding..but i'm not THAT crafty and i don't know how i'd get the darn thing to Jamaica... more planning pics to come...stay tuned!!! R~
