its your day..YOUR WAY...tell the 'frenemy' to step off and KEEP IT MOVING. frankly, i wouldn't even address it..she gets no invite..she gets no 'will you be my bridesmaid' card or convo..hell, you barely even see her..so just DONT see her at all again EVER..and if you do, act like she's invisible...the naysayers and the haters need to step aside...no one deserves this much anguish..don't give her or her antics ANOTHER moment of your precious time...you'll be mad you allowed her in the wedding party and even more mad when she proceeds to take over... my motto..relax, relate, release and bask in the sunshine...not the "rain" this chick is trying to drop on your parade. until next time, happy planning!! GOOD MORNING, fellow BDW brides! for today's planning post, i'll be sharing my latest DIY project, my bachelorette breakfast invite. here's some background, in lieu of having a bridal shower and/or a bachelorette party, i'm having breakfast with my female guests..most of my family and friends still live back East so this is an opportunity for them to have private time with me during the wedding weekend and if they'd like, shower me with gifts...although, gifts aren't expected, they are appreciated. the breakfast will 'look, feel and sound' like a shower hosted by my sister and my two daughters. we'll play games, there will be cute prizes and i hope moments of words of wisdom from my friends and family. so, i wanted to do a really nice invite for the breakfast...here's what i've come up with. the invitation will be mailed separately to my female guests. brides, that's it for today's post, until next time, happy planning!!! april...its good to start hoarding stuff..especially when you find a good deal..the bob marley stuff is 'classic jamaica'...and for $1/each..you can't beat the price (with a stick)..so go for it. check out the dollar store for shells, etc...shells add to the 'beach' vibe without overpowering it AND they're cost efficient. happy to help... jlarruda...run out there...print off the online coupon first though...happy shopping! until next time, happy planning!! Who should get a gift?
futuremrstgun replied to meBonidie2be's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
OOT bags can be super cost efficient..visit the dollar store, michaels, target and the like for $1 deals..or break down BULK items into smaller gift sizes..i'm doing OOT bags and i've found GREAT jamaica finds like bob marley stuf (michaels), luggage tags (40 cents/ea from michaels) and lots of stuff at the dollar store...it can be done for SUPER cheap but not look CHEAP..if you know what i mean...i actually just did a coffee favor for super inexpesive..afterall, jamaica is known for blue mountain coffee..there's lots that can be done for not a whole lot of $$$.. good luck! hi, akamikey! are you an AKA? my daughter is...just wondering. (skee wee, if u are - although i don't think i'm supposed to do that since i'm not an AKA) anyway, about your questions...here's the 'skinny'... 1. How many guest are you planning on having at your wedding. 25-30 (we have 20 booked) 2. CAN I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL I want a goodie bag....hehe lol...i'm about a week after your big day..if you're still hanging out in Jamaica..come on through! iberostar rosehall beach, october 8, i'll be the Diva in the Dress! 3. What type of paper did you print the door hangers on? the door hangers were printed on a white metallic paper that i got from Michaels (.29/sheet)...its a bazzill basics paper that's seriously gotta be the BEST paper ever! love it...its more of a cardstock than a paper though. 4. What are you doing different for your male guests. I am trying to decided what type of bag to get for them. i'm not really doing anything for male guests as i don't really have any single males coming...with the exception of my son. i'm doing the bob stuff from michaels for him along with the goodie box that i chatted about the other day...i'm also doing a goodie box for dad and one for my love..because i just couldn't afford the rolex (pre-owned) that he really wants.. i committed to pay for ALL of our kids (4 - 2 GROWN KIDS AND 2 WHO THINK THEY'RE GROWN) to be at the wedding so that's a priority but i'm determined to get him that watch...ONE OF THESE DAYS! 5. Are you doing a hangover kit...I am waiting for that post. i'm on the fence about the hangover kit..we're 'church folk' although we're not 'churchy'..meaning we do most things in moderation BUT i don't want to offend any of our guests..some of which are 'churchy'..so instead of a hangover kit, i'm doing what i call a wedding survival kit..most things that are in a hangover kit will be in the survival kit along with some other goodies..i won't be chatting about those until closer to the wedding as i'm still hunting for treasures to include in the OOT "kits". and i'm hoping to score a few FREEBIES along the way... stay tuned! well, that's it from here...please let me know if i can be of any other support. as always, happy planning!!! good afternoon, fellow BDW.com brides..its that time again.. for today's planning post, i'm going to talk about postcards. so, i want to have postcards available for my guests upon arrival but i also want to put a unique postcard with it welcoming our guests to jamaica. i've decided i'll purchase authentic jamaican postcards and maybe even some stamps upon landing..i'm pretty sure i can score postcards at the airport. i'm thinking i'll give each guests at least three post cards along with my personal DIY postcard with a handwritten message for each guest or couple. here's a peak at the personal card. the back includes our logo and even lines for the guest's name and address..i'll likely put the hotel's address there so it looks 'authentic'... alright, so today, you guys get a bonus post..because i'm dying to show you my latest DIY project..i like to call this..something is brewing in Jamaica..and what's brewing, you might ask?? well, LOVE, of course AND coffee...take a peak. please keep in mind, this is a DRAFT..i have to perfect the label and getting it to affix to the bag..but i wanted to share. each bag will contain enough coffee for each guest to enjoy one pot of blue mountain coffee (found at marshalls for $6.99/bag). i used the martha stewart stamp for the back (gotta love martha - all of her scrapbooking stuff is 25% off with an online coupon at Michaels). well, that marks the end of today's post. i hope you all like the coffee favors as much as i do... until next time, happy planning!!
