  1. well, i agree..i doubt that my guests will be googling to find me on BDW.com; however, if they google Jamaica or tourist or even the name of my resort, all of these posts are likely to come up in the google search...just can't 'risk' it, right now AND unfortunately, alot of our guests know my honey's nickname which is part of my BDW.com moniker. in any event, its a lesson learned. as always, happy planning!! R~
  2. if you're designing the template in powerpoint, there's a wealth of footprint in the sand pictures in the clipart section which can be easily inserted into the document. i found that powerpoint is much easier to manipulate for graphics, etc when working on passport and/or boarding pass templates. search for footprint in the sand in powerpoint and make sure you have photographs clicked in the clip art area and you'll see all sorts of beautiful pics. good luck! R~
  3. yeah, fellow brides..i was alarmed and didn't like that at all...i came across it because i was searching for information on jamaica information and a thread i started about the FREE jamaica tourist guide popped up and i thought...well, all be damned..there i am..EVERYTHING..so there won't be any more updates... i'll likely do an official planning thread closer to my actual big day or maybe right after..but this thread will no longer be updated. as always, happy planning!! R~
  4. UPDATE: ladies, i won't be posting much else on this thread as i just realized that ALL of my posts end up on google...i'd like my guests to be 'surprised' at the wedding so, until i get closer to my big day, i won't be posting any further daily updates. thanks for understanding and as always, happy planning!! R~
  5. thanks, torilynn... my honey 'suits' up every day for work..and he's in fashion so i had to find a super 'fly' bald guy for his invite....needless to say, he LOVED it! R~
  6. you could do a simple confetti on the tables and maybe even do some place cards... head over to michaels and visit their weddings section..there's usually a small section there for bachelorrette party items...also party city could be quite useful too. good luck and happy planning!! R~
  7. welcome to the site! i chose iberostar rosehall beach hotel because at the iberostar resort in montego bay, there are three hotels within one resort compound and they hold only one wedding ceremony/day..plus the resort is a 20 minute drive from the airport so our guests can get their vacay started almost 'immediately' after deplaning. my fiance and i decided on iberostar rosehall beach because its the most cost efficient of the three hotels within the iberostar resort compound AND its kid-friendly (although none of our guests will be bringing kids). you will find that iberostar will be a bit higher priced than other resorts in jamaica, but it is by far, the most beautiful and the service is top notch. my fiance and i have visited jamaica every year together for the past four years and so we're very familiar with the island and its resort offerings. we've stayed at sandals montego bay, breezes runaway bay and i even stayed at sunset jamaica grande with some girlfriends a few years ago and all pale in comparison to iberostar. good luck with finding the perfect spot for your big day. until next time, take care and happy planning!! R~
  8. hi, islandgirl910... i found those in the scrapbooking and sticker aisle at michaels..they're removable so the shoes can be work well AFTER my big day! until next time, happy planning!! R~
  9. THANKS so much, starfish0512...i'm absolutely loving ALL of the DIY projects and wedding planning. i appreciate your kindness and look forward to posting more, soon. until next time, happy planning!! R~
  10. there is a box of luggage tags that are like $19.99 at michaels..they're silver and always available in the wedding aisle..there's a 40% off coupon that starts tomorrow...if you really want tags and silver is part of your colorscape...those are just as cute. good luck! R~
  11. uhm, disregard my message..i guess if i took the time to actually read the thread instead of just the pictures, i'd see that you posted what the Tshirt said...lol! R~
  12. lisa..your wedding was ABSOLUTELY specactular. CONGRATULATIONS!!! i love EVERYTHING...can i ask, where did you get the Tshirts that you put in the OOT bags and what did they say?? also, the drink flags are ADORABLE..i actually made some last week but my fiance is really 'anti-drink flags' right now...so seeing yours, i thought WOO HOO..someone else had them..so maybe i'll just do them and sneak those bad boys in my purse..and whip them out...lol!!! CONGRATS!!! R~
  13. canadiangirl... i will be calling for those luggage tags too...let's hope they do them in the US..so THANKFUL for the heads-up. until next time, happy planning!! R~
  14. ladies, i believe if you're having your wedding at the suites and/or grande and you're a beach guest, you will be forced to pay a day pass fee to enter that resort for the wedding. i'd recommend checking with the respective hotel's WC for confirmation but i'm pretty sure that's the case. my fiance and i stayed at the iberostar rosehall suites last year and we were able to roam freely between the suites and the beach..also, you can pretty much walk the shoreline between all three hotels; however, you will run into problems gaining access to bars, etc based on the color of your wristband. please keep in mind that the disco and the spa are in the suites property while the japanese and cajun restaurants are in the beach property so you're likely to get to visit both areas if you're a suites and/or a grand bride. R~
  15. canadiangirl...any idea what the luggage tags look like? are they plastic/paper, what do they say??? i need some details...please... anyone??? R~
  16. any ideas of what the luggage tags look like? please send a pic when you get those..i'd love to see them. THANKS!!! R~
  17. canadiangirl... i started the thread, love..after i got mine so other jamaica brides would know about a GREAT FREEBIE... a picture of the actual book can be found on the first page of the thread. its a glossy magazine type book that's very informative. take a peak on the first page for details. R~
  18. VERY CUTE! sure wish they came in purple or white...love those! and the price is very nice, too!!
  19. canadian girl... i believe they'll be coming out with a new issue this month which is probably why you're running into the problem of getting some. i see your big day isn't until april...take a moment and give it a few weeks then contact them again. i bet they've been swamped with calls for them because BDW.com brides now know these are FREE... if you live near the jamaica tourist board location in canada, i'd recommend that you drop in...or give it a few weeks or maybe even a few months..like, call again in september when i'll bet they'll have plenty of the newest version. as always, until next time, happy planning!! R~
  20. hello, ladies..i found the cutest luggage tags at Michaels this past weekend...and they were only 40 cents/each. now i did have to do some digging and scouring AND had to visit multiple Michaels to get mine..but they are SUPER cute and worth it... if you live near a Michaels..go online, print off the online coupon which i believe is 25 or 30% off this week and you'll get those for even cheaper (almost FREE). i think they're completely worth it and even my fiance agreed. go to the clearance aisle and/or the $1 deal section and that's where you'll find them. here's a peak at the SUPER cute tags. as always, until next time, happy planning!!! R~
  21. good morning, ladies! i'm so glad to see this thread...as i'm feeling the same way but so many people wanted to host a shower or buy bachelorette gifts that my honey and i have opted to have a bachelorette breakfast and a bachelor breakfast..on different days while we're in jamaica. my sister and my daughters will 'host' my breakfast and my son will host the bachelor breakfast. mine will be on friday (the day after most of our guests are due to arrive) and my honey's will be the morning of our wedding. i figure this will give our female guests quality time with me and the male guests quality time with my honey plus, for those that want to impart words of wisdom or shower us with gifts..then they can... female guests will be formally invited using the invite below and male guests will be personally invited to the bachelor breakfast. the invite has a small note that gifts are welcome but not expected...that way if guests just want to come and hang out at breakfast with either of us..they can feel free to do so and not feel obligated to bring a gift... ii hav have decided toiidkdjdi idheras always, until next time, happy planning!!
