hello fellow brides! i got married at home this past friday..in TX you can do that..so if there's anyone living in TX that wants to get married, i'd highly recommend the officiant who oversaw my at home ceremony...its called bexar county marriages..mr. jensen was a real doll. while the 'ceremony' was small and very intimate..just me, my husband and mr. jensen..it felt so incredibly blessed and i couldn't be happier with having such a great memory made in our new home. i decorated and wore a cute white sundress..my husband was in khakis and a nice shirt..we ended up having friends over to help us cut the cake, do toasts and have dinner... frankly, it was perfect and i wouldn't change a thing... i look forward to holding our beach wedding in a couple of months but friday's 'at home' wedding will ALWAYS hold a special memory for my husband and i. until next time, happy planning!!! awww..you guys are too sweet.. ok, so i've been thinking of NEW DIY projects..and here's the latest... custom drink umbrellas..not really sure if these will make it to jamaica..i may do them for my 'bachelorette breakfast'...but the jury is still out..here's a peak at what i did... the wrapped "sticks" next to the umbrellas are hard candy sticks..wrapped and flagged to go with the rest of our stationery suite... just thought i'd give ya'll a little 'sumthin...sumthin'.... thanks, ladies and as always....HAPPY planning!!! i got married on friday..here at home and so my honey and i are technically doing a vow renewal on our big day in October...its actually cheaper...i decided to just cut out all the international paperwork and get hitched at home. most of our guests know that we jumped the broom on friday but i don't think it'll take away from our actual wedding. many DW brides do this...if you want it to 'appear' like a bonafide wedding ceremony vs. a vow renewal, ask if you can say your own vows and work with the officiant..i'm sure he'll be happy to design your words to go with exactly how you and your husband/fiance wish to be married...afterall, they're there to make you happy. until next time, happy planning!!
