Fake starfish..?
futuremrstgun replied to azulskies's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
guys, i have fake starfish that you can't even tell...i've painted them...some purple and some silver and i've even left a few white...(pics below) i personally have a 'thing' about using a 'dead' starfish in my decor...maybe its just me..i'm not an animal activist or anything but i find it kinda creepy plus i think if the 'fake' ones are well made no one will even be able to tell the difference. as always, happy planning!! 50 larger Jamaican coins please
futuremrstgun replied to beachesSB1412's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade or Freebies!
to be frank, i don't think i've ever seen large coins...and isn't it 'technically' illegal to transform valid currency into 'art' or a keychain...i know, i know...who am i to question a fellow DIYer..just thought i'd throw that out there... i'll be in jamaica in october and i'll take a peak then. you might get input from brides who are en route sooner. good luck and happy planning!! ladies... the dollar tree is where i found the Scrabble book..its been a few months though..so good luck finding those. confetti is a ratheri inexpensive way to decorate and/or keep the wedding theme going with martha stewart punches, etc...i can't say enough about martha...i wanna scream MARTHA..MARTHA..MARTHA! she's a freakin' genius!!! i've got a million things to get done w/in the next few weeks..so let me get back to it... until next time, happy planning!! ladies..i wouldn't 'wait'...if you can..order as soon as you can..and i wouldn't ALL call w/in days of each other... i think that's part of the problem...the tourist board has been overwhelmed with requests so they ran out.. since the publication is printed multiple times of the year, i would call during the months of printing...that way you're pretty much ensured to get the latest and greatest copy. if you can, have your TA call and get other freebies too. good luck and as always, happy planning!! good morning, fellow BDW brides... so, i'm up early perched at DIY central feverishly working to complete multiple projects. here's a peak at my well wish cards...hope ya'll like em. thanks to martha stewart, the well wish cards are all dressed up and ready to sit atop each guest's placesetting at our reception. well, brides, i gotta get back to it... as always, until next time, happy planning!! passionsarcasm... you're so kind... i'm loving this entire process...and i'm up EARLY working on more DIY projects...i'm cutting and pasting and putting it altogether. if you head to michaels, be sure to go online and print off the coupon..this week there's a 40% off any regular item coupon AND if you have multiple locations in your area..head to ALL of them and use that bad boy for amazing savings!!! if you don't have a home printer...make a note of the coupon's barcode and give that to the cashier to take advantage of the savings!!! until next time, happy planning!!! good evening, MJKH... i DIY everything myself...except beads...but all bows, etc are hand-tied...the bow that you see in the pic is a double knotted bow..i've been perfecting bows for years...ya'll oughta see my Xmas giftwrapping..my kids are like, for real? mom, you should REALLY go into business..but i don't...instead i do stuff for 'us'... this whole planning process has allowed me to tap into my creative side..thanks to ideas found online and the things that i think are pretty...or elegant..or simply beautiful for a wedding...yet simple enough to DIY.. thanks for the input on the program...i'm pretty sure i'm going to go the traditional route..and i can't wait to unveil what i come up with. welcome to the forum and i hope my thread can be inspiring and helpful...let me know if i can be of any help. as always, happy planning!! good morning, fellow brides... THANKS for the input..you guys have helped me tremendously...i'm pretty sure i'm going to go the traditional route..now i just have to design the darn thing...woo hoo! ok, so for today's post...i'm doing custom confetti...yes, ladies, confetti...and it has to be custom because EVERYTHING must coordinate... so, with the help of martha stewart's seahorse and sand dollar punches and her genius heart punch..i've started punching out confetti...each guest will have a vellum envelope full of confetti on their seat at the wedding...to shower us after we're announced as husband and wife...take a peak!! this is yet another inexpensive way to customize the wedding...as always, until next time, happy planning!!! these are adorable...and you did an incredible job..you should have no problem adding your destination and date...i bet you could make it into a circle in and/or around the whole monogram. ok, so here's my only 'recommendation/suggestion'...everyone or at least ALOT of destination brides do palm trees....have you considered shells or flowers or something less 'DW-typical'?? there's alot of inspiration online....and even on here...maybe a more 'traditional' monogram with a small 'starfish' or a nice nautilus shell or something of the like would be very nice...something sorta like these?? just some thoughts...i'd be happy to help you with the adding the text as a circle, etc...just let me know until next time, happy planning!! ok, ladies... i need some help...i'm going back and forth about my program..should i go the passport route or should i do something a bit more traditional... plus the passport is ALOT of work..initially i was going to do a single 8.5 x 11.5 sheet of paper doublesided but then i wasn't really 'in love' with the concept..plus i feel like its so 'destination wedding' and i didn't want to keep doing the 'norm'...so here's a mockup of a program, i'm thinking i may incorporate into my stationery suite. i need ya'lls opinion...passport program or more 'traditional' program? please share your thoughts, suggestions, recommendations, etc..i could really use the help... oh and here's another 'taste' at what's included w/my stationery suite...hope ya'll like it. ok..i'm headed back to finish up some DIY projects.... as always, until next time, happy planning!!
