  2. WOW, Sharan!!!! WOW!!! i'm completely and utterly SPEECHLESS!!! the pics are beyond beautiful!!! love it!!! CONGRATULATIONS to you and your husband!!!! R~
  3. FIRST OF ALL..I'M NOT 45..thank you...and even if i was..i'm still fly..but i won't be the big 4-0 until december..thanks!!! second of all..i'm not judging you..not once have i judged you..rather, i've walked and talked my faith and beliefs and tried to provide 'proof' as you asked...i've been kind, considerate and even listened to what you've had to say. i even sent you a heartfelt bit of luck for your big day...how that could be seen as anything other than kind, considerate or even tolerant is beyond me. third, because i don't agree to disagree..you decide to 'blast' or vent your feelings online? REALLY? uhm, that's childish in my opinion and frankly, unwarranted, but you do what you need to do. i'm disappointed that you decided to take it to BDW.com but OBVIOUSLY you did what you feel you needed to do. i'd much rather you would've been woman enough to say, listen...my feelings are hurt or whatever...send me a text..texts do go both ways you know. funny thing is..my feelings aren't hurt in the least bit..despite the fact that you pretty much told me that my beliefs are offensive..rather, i took it in stride..it didn't rattle me or make me change how i feel about you or anyone else. i plan to continue to pray for you and everyone or anyone else that has the same 'pessimistic' (your words not mine) beliefs as i always do. this is an unfortunate set of circumstances which, frankly, i can't even begin to fathom your reasoning for 'venting' on such a public forum..but hey, i'll take your lead and put it out there too... SMH...goes to show you...its not home training that some don't have..its immaturity..frankly, if you were mature and had home training, i bet your training would've taught you to go to the person who you felt wronged you and say just that..instead of 'venting' so others could 'back' you up..afterall, immaturity is the incapacity to use one's intelligence without the guidance of another.... enough said... 4. hellow, ladies... well, i'm ALMOST done with my OOT bags...here's a peak at a few of the FREEBIES..i dressed up for my guests.... sew in love kits (FREE kits - vellum from hobby lobby for almost free - gartner studio labels from michaels) i'm also including packets of blue star ointment, useful for bug bites or any other skin issues our guests may have while on vacay... the packets were FREE too.... gotta loving knowing just the right people...woo hoo!!! alright, brides..its late and i'm tired..so, off to bed i go... until next time, happy planning!! R~
  5. welcome back, tori!!! i've missed you, love!!! girl, i've been a busy little DIYer...gotta get it together as i'll be dropping off my OOT bags labor day weekend..OH BOY!! i'll send you the program template... until next time, happy planning!! R~
  6. hi, islandgirl... yeah, we chatted about the stickers before..but its all good..no worries. visit the stickers section at michaels...i bought sparkly letters in blue and red...put together the I Do then stuck them on the bottom of my shoe. you could likely find letters in your wedding colors...i may end up changing mine to purple, afterall. the red ones that i bought included the beautiful sparkly heart that adorns the shoe along with the I Do. stickers cost between $1.99 and $3.99...check out the michaels website for this week's coupon. happy planning!! R~
  7. SONIAG...you looked amazing..tears and all!!! beautiful...i hope you share more pis once you've gotten some proofs from misha... congratulations!!! R~
  8. good evening, fellow DIY & destination brides!! after customizing some pill boxes i found at michaels earlier in the week (for my For Better For Worse kits), i decided it wouldn't be right unless i made custom ones in our paisley print for the dark chocolate kisses (the purple foiled ones) i plan to give our guests...so i made one... i used the ones i bought at michaels as my template...cut paisley printed cardstock, glued the two sides together, folded the ends, embellished them with my eyelet wrap and logo label...and voila...custom pill boxes. feel free to take a peak and let me know what you think... brides, i'm SUPER proud of these...one down and 14 more to make...luckily, i only have to make 15 OOT bags to put together...woo hoo!! as always, until next time, HAPPY PLANNING!! R~
  9. awwwwww..asia..you're so kind. take your time, love...it'll come to you. you've got plenty of time to gather your thoughts and create a game plan. my thought has and will remain...EVERYTHING must COORDINATE...so, i took my husband's love of paisley and found one that was purple (his favorite color) and viola i had the basis of what i would use for my stationery suite. there's LOTS of inspiration on this site and others....i bet you'll come up with some GREAT DIY projects, etc. and i hope you'll share what you end up doing so others can be inspired by your planning as well. as always, happy planning!! R~
  10. both gentlemen have information on FB... i'll tell you this... alain's photos are beautiful, he's going to cost considerably more than roan...i believe roan's pricing is so good because he's a new photographer. you'll get different photographs from each photographer as their styles are very different. alain is the more experienced of the two so his photographs are very artistic while roan's photos are classic photos...so i'd take a peak at their FB photo albums and then go from there. a fellow destination bride..not sure if she's on BDW.com but she HIGHLY RECOMMENDED roan and that swayed me toward him. good luck and happy planning!! R~
  11. hi, jbmarch... glad you like it...the file is quite large so i can't upload it here..PM me your details and i'll be happy to forward a blank template to you via electronic communique. until next time, happy planning!! R~
  12. good afternoon, fellow destionation brides!!! i've been contemplating as to whether or not i should upload pics of my revised program..well, i'm sooooo excited with how my latest DIY project has turned out that i simply must share with all of you. please keep in mind... this is a 'mock-up'...i've got a little tweaking to do but i'm in love with it!! feel free to let me know how you feel about it... woo hoo!! until next time, happy planning!! R~
  13. AWWW....mrsjdh2b...you're so sweet...the pill boxes are very reasonable AND there's a 40% off of a single item coupon this week at Michaels.. i can't wait to see it all too..i'm SUPER excited..next week will mark 7 weeks till my big day and tomorrow...well, tomorrow is 2 weeks being legal..woo hoo!!! R~
  14. WELCOME to BDW.com, anudrm... make yourself comfortable..there's a wealth of info and great brides on this site...i trust you'll find lots to love and share... happy to be of some inspiration...feel free to let me know if i can share any templates... until next time, happy planning!! R~
  15. i was going to do a Love is Brewing and offer each guest some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee...but i nixed that idea when I found a San Antonio blend of coffee...my honey and i now reside in SAT and we got engaged here so i thought it would be cool to have a little piece of 'home' in our OOT bags. but i still like the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee idea. just thought i'd share. as always, happy planning!! R~
  16. good afternoon, brides and DIYers... i've been busy with so many projects including a new program which i'll detail for you in my final planning thread. (stay tuned) in the meantime, i've been putting together 'kits'...an In Sickness & In Health kit (aka first aid kit) and a For Better or For Worse kit (aka bug repellent, shout wipes, meds like antacids, tylenol and the like)...so the first aid kit was a simple label with our logo. originally, i was going to do simple envelopes for the For Better or For Worse kits but i wasn't thrilled about how they were looking so i decided to purchase some cute pill boxes from Michaels, add some embellishments and viola For Better or For Worse kits now "coordinate" with all of my other stuff. i can't wait to hear how ya'll feel about the latest addition to my stationery suite... until next time, ladies...happy planning!! R~
  17. tropical love... i can't believe you'd lose anything..i mean, i won't lose any money if i cancel at the beach..but i didn't book a 'real' wedding either..i booked the 'recommittment' or re-dedication ceremony so i'd have more options...the nickel and diming is definitely a put off..but the resort is breathtaking..and by far, the best on the island... you're a couple of months out..i'd see if there's anything i could do..maybe move to the suites and/or the beach..see if they're more flexible on not charging the upcharge..you might be surprised. good luck and as always, happy planning!! R~
  18. i completely understand your angst and i hate the fact that their nickle and diming us..but..it is what it is... did you qualify for the FREE wedding at the grande? perhaps that's a way to avoid the cost..and/or maybe you hold an intimate ceremony offsite and then do a dinner at one of the restaurants..if your guests are staying there? everyone could make their dinner reservations for the same day (depending on how many ppl) and just meet up there..or have everyone meet in the buffet restaurant and take over a side of it...that might be a better and more viable option. iberostar is a beautiful resort but they really need to revamp their wedding packages, etc..there are so many other resorts in jamaica that offer FREEBIES and so they should SERIOUSLY consider doing that... i bet if more brides brought up situations like this and/or cancelled, they'd have to reconsider our wants/needs/etc. good luck and as always, happy planning!! R~
  19. can you post pics??? or maybe a link to what they look like?? i bet that would be very helpful for selling these... just a thought. R~
  20. O M G!!! i'm LOVING this journal...everything looks so beautiful! love your DIY projects!!! BRAVO and CONGRATS!!! R~
  21. skygirl... honestly, i can't even remember..but i uploaded the template so you could cut and paste the image into another format, if needed... hope its not too late for you to use it. until next time, happy planning!! R~
  22. CONGRATULATIONS and WELCOME to BDW.com... your situation does sound tricky..maybe you should send a nice announcement after the fact and/or get married at home..have a small reception where those that won't be in the island with you can attend and shower you two with gifts and well wishes...that way the legal part is out of the way AND your friends and family that won't make it to the island can participate...its almost the best of both worlds... you'd still get your DW in the island AND you'd avoid hurting anyone's feelings. as for the MOH..uhm, opt out of it..altogether..just have you and your fiance stand up and let everyone else be guests..if you don't choose anyone..no one's feelings can be hurt...i mean, they could still be hurt but you wouldn't be the one hurting them..hope that makes sense... lol!!! good luck and happy planning!! R~
