  1. Hey, Thanks for the post. I hadn't even thought about tipping, but it completely makes sense. It's just something that slipped my mind. I read the bottom part, about tipping the wedding planner. Our hotel is providing a wedding planner for us, but correspondence with her is minimal. How much should we tip her? Thanks,
  2. Agreed. I don't know if I'll be able to reach the required number of posts. I actually didn't know this was necessary until I tried to open the document. If anybody does have access to if, please email me at [email protected] Thanks so much
  3. Hey, We used Paradise Catamarans. We heard really good reviews, we looked everywhere and couldn't come up with negative feedback. I believe it came to just over $3000, but it comes with a separate para-sailing boat, lunch, drinks, transport and gear for 60 people. I"ve attached their website, and contact information. Hope that helps! Have a great vacation/wedding:) http://www.paradisecatamarans.com/ [email protected]
  4. Hey, We struggled so much to make the same decision. We decided that since it is your guests vacation too, they might want to be able to explore without running into people they know everywhere. We also have a couple guests who would not necessarily want to be running into each other all time time. For those reasons, we chose the Grand Sunset Princess. We got in pretty early so the prices were really low. We also get two chances to lower the price for all the 'early bird' rsvp'iers. This means that we might be able to surprise our guests with a lower price. We definately wouldn't have been able to make this decision without our travel agent. We also went to a couple photographers (Moments that matter) websites to see pictures they had taken at the resorts we were looking at. I hope that helps!
  5. Hey everyone, I'm wondering how I should coordinate from the end of the ceremony to the end of the evening. We'd really like to use the a la carte dinner (we have sixty people, we've been told this is possible still, but we'll see once we get down there). I'm especially wondering what we should do after dinner. We have access to another room to use after dinner, but I can't think of how to get people interested in dancing and having a good time if I have to lead them to a separate room. I was thinking I'd use the included 1 hour cocktail hour, and hire a bartender for a couple hours. We have a Bose Sound System, but I'm not sure if that alone will be enough. Any suggestions? Thanks:)
  6. Hey, I'm so glad I found this thread. We bought a portable Bose sound dock, and I'm a bit worried it won't be loud enough, or 'surround sound enough' for the reception. I believe we'll be either outside, or will have a private room somewhere in the resort. We have 60 guests, but don't anticipate that many will get up to dance. Has anybody used this with success? I"m worried that it won't sound very loud, especially with background noise. Thanks,
  7. I was reading a couple posts about give away bags. We decided to do something a little different. We wanted to thank everybody for coming down, so we contacted a catamaran tour company. They're taking us out for a 4 hour trip, all inclusive (although we'll limit the beers a bit, we don't want any bad hangovers the day before) trip. It includes drinks, lunch, snorkeling, a trip to a private beach and parasailing on a separate boat. We thought this would be a good way to say thanks to our guests for coming such a long way to see us get married. We also thought it would be a good way for everybody to get to know each other. Anyways, I hope that helps somebody if they're looking for a good gift idea for the guests.
  8. I feel like I should be doing more! I've organized the venue, bought my dress, bought the bridesmaids dresses. Does anybody know if there is a 'more accessible' list of 'things to do'? I'm six months away and have no idea what else I should be doing!! Thanks everybody (I didn't know about the number of posts, I don't know if I"ll be able to get that many in just a couple months)
  9. Hey, I'm also looking at getting married there and am wondering about the ceremony location. I am very worried about all the gawkers. We've decided on a sunset ceremony (5pm) and are hoping the beach will have cleared out, but are hoping to be able to change to the white gazebo if it doesn't look like the beach will be any less busy in the evening. Any suggestions?
