Custom Linen Suits $99!
Lindy S replied to FoxyBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hi Fortune2012, I actually ordered the ties off Etsy. I couldn't find any I liked in the stores, so I have them custom made. The seller I worked with is great and so helpful. The shipping and communication was quick and easy. Here is the link to her site. She also does discount pricing if you order more than 2. I ordered five ties and 2 child size bow ties. Let me know if I can answer anymore questions for you! http://www.etsy.com/listing/84824621/the-beau-mens-preppy-plaid-necktie?ref=pr_shop -

Hi! We ordered ours from Kohls...They are pretty good quality and I really like the slim fit. Here is the link: They were around $15 with free shipping and % off. Just look for coupons on sign up to receive them via email. Can't hardly beat the price. http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/dressapparelmen/dressshirts/slimfit/PRD~767520/Croft+and+Barrow+SlimFit+Solid+NonIron+SpreadCollar+Dress+Shirt.jsp http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/dressapparelmen/dressshirts/slimfit/PRD~767520/Croft+and+Barrow+SlimFit+Solid+NonIron+SpreadCollar+Dress+Shirt.jsp -

Here is the suit we ordered from Studio Suits in Tropical Light Beige Linen and custom size. My fiance is very happy with the suit! I think it looks awesome (minus the fact that it needs to be pressed)! Please let me know if you have any questions. The suit took about 10 days to be made/shipped/delivered. I was very impressed with how fast we received it. For the groomsmen pants (they are not wearing suits), I took a chance, and ordered linen blend pants in flax from JCPenney with a coupon and free shipping the pants came out to be about $22 a piece. It is almost impossible for me to tell the difference from the groomsmen pants and the suit. I am very happy I took a chance and everything turned out as I hoped it would. Here is the link to the pants if any of you are interested: http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1d59575&DeptID=70673&CatID=71050&SO=1&SelDim=8%7e&x5view=1&NOffset=0&Ne=4294957900+5+587+15+12+8+1031+949&N=4294950696+1260&Nao=0&PSO=1&bcCat=3&CmCatId=70673|71050 -
Hello. I don't remember Shades of Pale giving me a choice about level of accuracy. I believe Amalia (who I talked to) stated they could make the dress very close to the original but didn't use a percentage. As you can tell the bodice top is different for the replica, but I was okay with how it turned out. As far as the organza, I chose the upgraded organza. She stated I could choose the other kind for a lower price, but I wanted to pay a little more for it to be better quality. I have felt some organza that is very rough and stiff and this does not feel like that. I'm not sure if I really answered your questions, but I this helps.

Okay, sorry ladies. I am just now getting around to answering your questions. I have been so busy! Yes, I did try on the original and others similar to it before I chose this design. I had previously ordered a "grecian goddess" looking gown from a different seller, but decided I wanted something a little more sassy instead. The skirt fabric of the replica is very similar to the original. However, the bodice fabric is a little different (the original is silk organza) and I believe the replica is regular organza (not the shiny crystalized kind though (thank goodness). The material reminds me of various other dresses I tried on similar to this. The skirt is pretty soft and flow, which I am happy about, because I was worried it was going to fill like billo pad. I paid for more premium fabric than what Shades of Pale considered normal replica fabric...whatever this means!? The ordering process went really well up until the last few days before it was shipped. I had been in contact with Amalia regularly and then all of the sudden I hadn't heard from her for a few days, and then she emailed me stating my dress had been shipped without my final approval. I was a little worried, because there were still some changes we were discussing through photos. Shipping was very fast! However, when I received the dress almost all the changes had been adjusted. I was a little bummed b/c I had asked for the dress to have a bustle, but one wasn't included. It wasn't a huge deal though, because Shades of Pale only makes you pay a 50% deposit, and then you pay the rest before shipping, but since mine was shipped without my consent I hadn't paid the remaining balance. Amalia informed me I could use the remaining balance for alterations as needed. I believe the dress was shipped so soon because the wear date I had requested was quickly approaching. I had given them an earlier date than my actual wear date to allow for needed alterations. I was able to have the dress tied up tight and it looks awesome...so much better than the photo I have posted below. I did decide to have some width of the bodice taken in to allow the corset and hip area to fit correctly. I am also having a bustle put in. I go in on 1/24 for a fitting. I can't wait to see how it looks! I have also decided to add the flowers with crystal centers to the crystal sash. I will show you all a pic once I have everything complete! Please let me know if you have anymore questions. I hope I answered them with this post, if not let me know!

My Shades of Pale Allure c166 replica has arrived! I just received my dress today! Overall I am very, very happy with it and it is very close to the original! I had some changes made to the original design. I had the one shoulder changed to a strapless sweetheart and I added two different interchangable sashes. One is a crystal sash and one is a satin sash with flowers and crystals. I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the floral sash. Let me know your thoughts. I had the dress made into a corset back instead of buttons (due to my large rib cage...lol). I wasn't able to tighten the corset up like it needs to be in order to have the dress fit me like a glove. I know it will look much better once I'm cinched into it! I just didn't have anyone here to help me besides my fiance...I had to lock the doors so he wouldn't sneak a peek!

I haven't had a chance to look all the way through this site, but my friend ordered her husband's suit from here. She said they had a good experience with the company and couldn't complain. I'm not sure if they have the color you are looking for, but you can can at least check. The site appears to be very similar to Studio Suits. Hope this helps. http://www.makeyourownjeans.com
