To Veil or not to Veil?
pacificgirl replied to juliboley's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Your dress is beautiful! Personally, I'm wearing a veil because...well, when am I EVER going to get to wear one again? I'm wearing a fingertip length for the ceremony and pictures only, and then I'm taking it off for the reception and putting a hair flower in place of it. It's truly up to you! If you're worried about cost, Etsy has quite a few sellers that are very affordable. Also, they are very cheap to make and not to mention easy! It's really up to you in the end though hon. Personally, I think veils make wedding pictures that much better. Especially on the beach! -
Dress Shopping Help
pacificgirl replied to kisha311's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I remember my first dress appointment my consultant was amazing. She shut the curtain for the dressing room and said "All modesty got left the second that you stepped through the store doors, strip!" She made me feel really comfortable, like I was with a friend. I'm also used to changing a lot at motocross races so it wasn't that big of a deal for me. Definitely wear a strapless bra. If you're a more typical bra size, they'll usually have a bustier for you to wear. I didn't get that lucky since I wear a 34DD. Then some more covering undies, like boyshorts. I never tried on a dress that color mattered, but it's up to you if you're going to be trying on thinner dresses. I know this thread was already solved, and I'm so happy you found your dream dress! Just remember ladies, the consultants see it ALL every day! There's nothing to be shy about. -

Dress doubt - help requested!
pacificgirl replied to jello's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
My jaw just about dropped when I saw your current dress. It is GORGEOUS! I wouldn't aim for "princess" so much as "goddess" though. You look incredible in that gown and honestly, I can't imagine why you are second guessing it! However, I have also been in your position and wound up with a different dress than I originally wanted as well. As principessa said, it all comes down to what you want and what makes you happy. If that dress is truly what you want, then you need to go with your heart. However, from an outside opinion, the dress you have now is breathtaking and looks amazing on you. -

Thank you so much! I love how the ruffles replicate the ocean waves. I was thinking of barefoot jewelry! Wasn't sure what anyone thought of it if they'd worn it? Is it comfortable? I'm not sure about a necklace just because I don't want to take away from the neckline. Maybe some earrings and a bracelet that are more simple? But what! haha. I am on Pinterest, I'm just awful at accessorizing, LOL! -

Thanks so much ladies! She's the polar opposite of what I pictured myself in, but I couldn't love her any more than I do! Sorry, I should have mentioned we're going to be directly on the beach. So a kitten heel won't really work =/ I'm thinking wedges, but I'm having the hardest time finding elegant and low ones! Who knew shoe shopping could be so hard? I will be wearing a fingertip length veil for the ceremony, but taking it off for the reception. Hugging and veils are no bueno! We're doing shades of blue. I think the best way to portray our theme is through the cake....so bare with me, LOL. -
Hey ladies! I finally got my dress! Well, I'm going to put the deposit on Friday and then am going to do payments on it. But it's a sample so no need to order! Anyway, I am going to be wearing my hair up and completely out of my face and I don't want to be too flashy either. I do have a hair flower that my friend made for me (picture below) that I plan on wearing. But besides that I'm at a loss. I'm awful at this sort of thing, LOL! Also a bit lost on the shoe front, so any help would be appreciated! I want to keep them elegant, and FI is only an inch taller so I'm thinking flats or low wedges. (sorry, huge pictures. This is my first time posting photos on BDW)

What are you walking down the Aisle to?
pacificgirl replied to reevesbride's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I'll be walking to Get Lost by Chris Ayer. I had never heard it before yesterday, but thanks to Pandora I'm glad I found it! This guy is an incredible musician and has barely ANY views on youtube! I don't know how. But anyway, this song is just gorgeous. Listening to it I close my eyes and start to cry because I know in just over a year, I'll be walking down the aisle towards the man of my dreams to this beautiful music. <3 -

Share your ceremony script!
pacificgirl replied to aeroo's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
This is ours! I have all of you wonderful ladies to thank though! I couldn't have done it without all of your beautiful scripts WELCOME Joshua and Halsey, you have known each other for 3 wonderful years, from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. All those conversations that were held riding in the truck, lying in the hammock in the backyard, or during those days that you overlooked the valley from high atop the mountains - all those sentences that began with “When we’re married†and continued with “I will and you will and we willâ€- those late night talks that included “someday†and “somehow†and “maybeâ€- and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding. The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “You know all those things we’ve promised and hoped and dreamed- well, I meant it all, every word.†Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another- best friend, companion, lover, motivator, motorcycle riding partner, and even teacher, for you have learned much from one another in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. For after these vows, you shall say to the world, “this is my husband,†and “this is my wife†The Blessing Of The Sea Halsey and Josh, as we stand by the ocean, may your love always be as constant and unchanging as these never-ending waves that break before us, flowing endlessly from the depths of the sea. Your love came softly upon each other's hearts, just as the sea foam lies softly before us, and just as there will never be a morning without the ocean's flow, may there never be a day without your love for each other. As the tides ebb and flow so to, do the fortunes of life. Footprints in the sand are washed away, driftwood moves on its endless quest for a peaceful harbor. Only a deep and abiding love can withstand the tides of change in two lives. Pledge yourselves to each other this day, and promise to be as faithful and dependable as the tide. Just as these waters nourish the earth and sustain life, may your constant love nourish and sustain each other until the end of time. HAND CEREMONY As an expression that you are joined together in love - will you please hold each others hands, so you may feel the gift that you are to each other. These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind. These are the hands that will wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch. Vows *Still holding hands from Hand Ceremony* Josh, do you take Halsey, to be your wife? Do you promise love to her, respect her and care for her, under all conditions and circumstances of life to be a faithful husband to her for the rest of your lives together? [i do] Please repeat after me: Halsey, I love you. You are my best friend. Today I give myself to you in marriage. I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle. I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems difficult. I promise to cherish you and to always hold you in highest regard. I promise to support you and to be there for you, through the good times and the bad. These things I give to you today, and for all the days of our life. Halsey, do you take Josh, to be your husband? Do you promise love to him, respect him and care for him, under all conditions and circumstances of life to be a faithful wife to him for the rest of your lives together? [i do] Please repeat after me: Josh, I love you. I promise to support you and to be there for you through the good times and the bad. These things I give to you today, and for all the days of our life. RING CEREMONY Josh and Halsey, your rings are intimately associated with your intent to honor and treasure the vows you have made today. By exchanging rings, resolve to live your vows and not to let them drift in shallow promises. Believe and trust that the words you have spoken have the capacity to create the marriage, family and life of your dreams, and that the rings you exchange will have the power to return you to your vows. Josh, please place this ring on Halsey’s finger and repeat after me. “Halsey, with this ring, I give you my heart and I promise from this day forward, you shall not walk alone. May my heart be your shelter and my arms be your home.†Halsey, please place this ring on Josh's finger and repeat after me. “Josh, with this ring, I give you my heart and I promise from this day forward, you shall not walk alone. May my heart be your shelter and my arms be your home.†Closing Josh and Halsey if there is anything you remember of this marriage ceremony, may it be the love that brought you here today, it is only love which can make it a glorious union, and by love which your marriage shall endure. Today your separate lives with your individual memories, desires, and hopes merge into one. You are now taking into your care and keeping the happiness of the one person in the entire world whom you love above all others. You are adding to your life not only the affection of each other, but also the companionship and blessing of a deep trust as well. You are agreeing to share strength, responsibilities and to share love. May you be a blessing and comfort to each other, sharers of each other’s dreams, consolers of each other’s sorrows, helpers to each other in all of life's challenges. May you encourage each other in whatever you set out to achieve. May you trust each other, trust life and be unafraid. May your marriage bring you all the exquisite excitements a marriage should bring, and may life grant you patience, tolerance, and understanding. With friends and family, along with the sun, the sand, and the sea, I have the pleasure of announcing you as husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride! -

Any bride who wears this dress will truly feel like Cinderella on her big day! I got this beautiful gown for an inspiration shoot. I wore it for about 20 minutes and was going to wear it for my own wedding, but I have since fallen in love with another gown. It's very light, and will be perfect for any destination! The bodice is beautifully beaded and adorned with a soft, sweetheart neckline. The stunning skirt is full of bustles and finishes off with a beautiful lace and beaded bottom. This gown truly is, THE princess dress. There are a few marks on it, but not noticeable ones as they are on the underside or where fabric comes up. I'm sure they can be taken off with a simple cleaning, and I have adjusted the price to allow the buyer to do so. I wear a street size 6, and this gown is a size 10. It also has a corset back closure, so it can fit a very wide variety of sizes. The length of the gown has not been altered from its stock size, so it can be changed as needed. I am 5'6, wore 2 1/2 inch heels, and it was a perfect length. However, as I said it can easily be altered. A bustle was also added for the inspiration shoot. If you want a gown that will make you feel like you just stepped out of a Disney movie, this is it! Asking $700 OBO +Shipping. Paypal only. Will ship to anywhere in US. If you would like any more pictures of the dress, or have any questions, please email me at [email protected] Photos copyright HF Photography and RedFred Productions

pacificgirl replied to acireta's topic in Just venting or funnies
I totally agree! I was on another wedding forum for a long time, but I'm sick of the fakey two-faced members. I graduated high school years ago, I intend to stay away from the drama. Although I'm still very new, all of the ladies on here have been so sweet and welcoming! Cheers to some of the coolest brides I know
