  1. I would definitely nix the black ones. The clear will look so elegant on their own and I feel like the black would just take away. I absolutely LOVE your idea!
  2. Why don't you do real touch hydrangeas? I'm getting my flowers from Afloral and they have GREAT quality real touches. You honestly can't even tell they're fake. Plus you will be able to reuse them again!
  3. I totally feel it necessary to play the song from Tangled if we did this. Immature? Perhaps, but TOTALLY appropriate! I love this idea, it's so so so pretty! Your photos are going to be INCREDIBLE!
  4. My Paloma Blanca retailed for $2890, but I got the sample for $1152! Alterations got estimated at about $200
  5. I think a few of the different shaped loose beads will go a very long way. That way the veil will compliment your dress, and not take away from it.
  6. You're brave! That song is used in the ASPCA commercials and I would be bawling my eyes out due to the only thing I'd be able to envision is abused animal faces
  7. It looks beautiful on! I think the decision to nix the Dakota was a good one, this one is definitely perfect for a Vegas wedding! And I love that skirt
  8. Glad you got it taken care of honey! I'm sure your dress is going to look STUNNING!
  9. Got pictures in my gown today when I went to put the deposit down! I'm so in love with her <3
  10. I would go for the white, personally. The ivory does look a bit too much against your skin, which is funny because for most of us it is the total opposite! On the other hand, lighting in salons is AWFUL! I would ask if you could walk outside for just a minute (YES, they do this at some salons and give you a little hand mirror to take) and will go outside with you so you can see what the color *really* looks like.
  11. Thanks ladies! I talked to FI last night and he wants to wear a tux. That's not something I'm going to fight him on! Thankfully we're just going to be on the coast here in Oregon so it doesn't get too hot Thank you for all of your help!
  12. I think your watermelon pink and blue idea sounds adorable! I haven't seen it on the beach, but that doesn't mean that you can't! We are actually doing shades of blue. Originally it was going to be purple and orange, but FI has had very little opinion in anything for the wedding and one thing he really wanted was different shades of blue that compliment the colors of the ocean. So, that is how we came to that decision.
  13. I will probably do one with paint (LOVE those) and in a replica dress I order. I refuse to harm my Paloma Blanca. I would die!
  14. I second this. I would search "Drop Crystal bridal necklace" or something to that effect. Someone is bound to have something like that in their shop.
  15. Alexis all of her stuff is adorable! Thanks for the link. FI is going to love your gift!
  16. Yeah I have to agree with this as well. We aren't having a bridal party because the wedding is about us, not who is standing with us. You need to chat with him. It sounds pretty selfish that he "needs" the guys up there with him and you aren't able to have your ladies with you. Why doesn't he have honorary groomsmen? List them in the program, but they sit with everyone else. Bottom line, you need to figure out why he feels this way and express to him how much it hurts you.
  17. Gorgeous dress! And making a veil is VERY easy! There's lots of DIY tutorials floating around on the inter-webs. It's seriously as easy as cutting and sewing a comb on. SUPER simple, and cheap.
  18. I actually did a bit of a twist on a boudoir session and did a siren session. Yes, the evil mermaids that lure in sailors. Think....topless in 42 degree weather. It was cold (read FREEZING) and only 60 outside, but he is going to LOVE the pictures! I'm going to put them into a "Little black book"...literally
  19. You're much braver than I am! LOL! I'm not sure either of us would go for it, but I'm sure it'll be awesome for you guys! We're getting married on the Oregon coast so it doesn't get too terribly hot during the Summer.
  20. I'm trying to figure out what I should show FI as some suggestions as to what to wear. Even though he's literally letting me dress him, LOL! I don't want him to be over the top dressed up (no bow ties, etc), but I know that he still wants to wear a tux. My dress is pretty elegant still and I don't want him to look way too casual next to me. This is my dress Bonus points if you show pictures of your men or inspiration pics!
  21. Mine is a satin/silk mixture. I forget the exact name of it, but it's very light and still very elegant.
  22. This is my inspiration. Callas and hydrangeas! Both will be real touch because I'm deathly allergic to real lillies.
  23. Here's the inspiration for ours, except we're nixing the more greenish tones and aiming for more flat out blue. Starting at sapphire blue and going up from there.
  24. My fiance left most of it to me, but the colors and recessional song were all him! This is OUR day, not just mine, so I wanted him to be a part of the planning as much as he wanted to be. I get weddings aren't as much of a deal as they are for us women, so I don't get hurt when he doesn't really have an opinion. But I can't understand the women who say their fiance has no say....that's just wrong.
