  1. I've been to Hi-Lo Supermarket, which is a major chain in Jamaica. There is a Hi-Lo less than 10 minutes from Montego Airport. I didn't buy any candy (I bought mostly Red Stripe!), but they have everything you can think of there. If you can, stop there after you arrive at the airport and browse.
  2. Love the flowers and colors, Canadiangirl! The peacock feathers are really unique!
  3. Your story is really beautiful! And, wow...love the wedding dress and your DIY projects! I didn't know that Ross has seashells and sealife...I need to get myself to a store. Did you paint your starfish and shells purple? If so, what kind of paint did you use? Thanks for sharing!
  4. We will also need to arrange for roundtrip airport transfers for guests. I was wondering if these tour/transportation companies will have carseats for toddlers? We will have many children attending our wedding. When I was previously in Jamaica, I remember some parents saying that many tour companies don't offer carseats. If they do say they have them, they may not actually bring them.
  5. Have you checked out Ebay? They have tons of cake toppers, including bald grooms. I'm not sure what your groom looks like, but check out this link. If it doesn't work, just go to Ebay and type in "bald groom cake topper". Good luck! http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=bald+groom+cake+topper&_sacat=See-All-Categories
  6. Sorry, Torilynnsmith...sugar starfish is a type of natural starfish. They're not made of edible sugar :-(
  7. Hi Ladies, I found similar similar starfish couple cake toppers on Ebay. I actually like them better...they each stand on wood sticks (rather than a single base). And they're about $30 - $35 bucks! I got the sugar starfish! http://cgi.ebay.com/Bride-and-Groom-Dancing-Starfish-Wedding-Cake-Topper-/260598221383?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cacdd4a47 http://cgi.ebay.com/NR-Bride-and-Groom-Finger-Starfish-Wedding-Cake-Topper-/260732720245?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb4e19475
  8. Me too...love the seashell basket! Where did you get it?
  9. Yes, I do! I'll email it to you...I don't want my fiance reading my posts on this forum :-)
  10. Congrats Sandra! You looked so gorgeous and the wedding looked beautiful! Did you get legally married in Jamaica...are you happy with that decision?
  11. Our colors are orange, fuschia, and plum. We don't have a theme, but the wedding is on the beach. The cake is really important to my fiance (kind of like how a wedding dress is important to us brides)!
  12. My fiance and I would like a whimsical wedding cake, and haven't found one that we really love. If you have cake photos or ideas, please post. We found some that are creative and interesting, and I've posted them here! Topsy-turvy shapes:
  13. The edible decorations are wonderful...but I'm also worried that they will melt. I might ask if our baker can make them for our cake.
  14. Very cute! I was thinking of doing flowergirl pails too, but I didn't think to add starfish! I think the girls would love the starfish...so thank you so much for the idea!
  15. DestinationIDo (on Etsy.com) made a custom logo for our wedding in Jamaica. I gave the vendor information only about our wedding location and date, and she created a beautiful, colorful and creative design for us. Since I started the wedding planning, I noticed that my fiance hasn't been very excited about decorations, themes, favors etc. -- although I know that he's very excited about the wedding. When I showed him the logo, he was so thrilled and excited about it! He asked me to post the logo on our wedding website, and now wants to spend money on OOT travel bags with the logo print! I highly recommend DestinationIDo! The vendor is also a destination bride with an upcoming wedding in Jamaica too, so I'm so happy to see a bride turn her wonderful talent into a business!
  16. Thanks Jamaican. I checked the website but Helen G is a wedding coordinator. We just need to rent chairs directly from a vendor.
  17. Stacey00: I think you should be able to post pictures even if you're still a newbie. I was able to post photos prior to hitting Junior Member status (150 posts). I think you just can't download attachments if you're a newbie.
  18. Hi Ladies: Are you renting chairs for your ceremony or reception? Our hotel doesn't have wooden folding chairs, so we will have to rent them. If you know of any vendors that deliver to Negril, please let me know. Thanks!
  19. We're thinking of these same ideas too. We'll either have our guests sign a map of our destination and we'll frame it later when we get home, or have guests sign individual seashells. If anyone else have alternative ideas to guestbooks, please share. Thanks!
  20. I haven't seen any brides on this forum who are having weddings at Secrets Wild Orchid (or their sister resort St. James). You may want to check out Secrets Facebook page and TripAdvisor.com...I have seen brides or travelers who've posted reviews there. Good luck!
  21. A fun photo shoot where you play in the water (ocean, waterfalls) and get all wet! Some of the brides are doing this after the wedding day.
