  1. My fiance and I really don't want any gifts or cash, as we know that our guests are spending quite a bit of money coming to our destination wedding. We indicated on our wedding website that we're not registered anywhere and hope that will discourage people from buying us gifts.
  2. Is anyone doing different gifts, favors or OOT bags for children? We'll have a number of children attending and would like to get them something different from the adult guests. Thanks for your help!
  3. So cute...did you dye the starfish yourself? If so, what did you use? I'm looking for bright orange starfish, but haven't found any yet.
  4. These are really cute and love that you used the area names for seating...has a very personal touch.
  5. I haven't started looking for a wedding dress yet, but would ideally like a dress that won't wrinkle easily if packed in a carry-on luggage. What's the best type of dress material to consider? Thanks for any help.
  6. The bouquet is very pretty, Ehpage! They look so real.
  7. Congrats Jszy10! The bouquets are beautiful...I really like the orange flowers! The starfish boutonnieres are cute and unique. Love the fact that you did it so cheaply too.
  8. The bouquet is really beautiful and looks so real!
  9. 100 invites...wow, that's a lot! I'm not sure how early you are in your wedding planning, but could you do the passport invites later when you have a sense of how many guests are NOT coming at all? If it were me, I wouldn't spend money on invites on people I know can't or won't come.
  10. Like Chocolate fudge brownies with nuts (after you work-out)?
  11. Wow, I wish I found these a month ago...really wonderful!
  12. I don't think it's wrong to tell people that you may decide to have an AHR after you have certainty around guest bookings for your destination wedding. It's already a bit stressful planning for the wedding...I'm sure you don't need this extra stress of an AHR planning so early in your wedding plans.
  13. I think it's fine to send out invitations without travel or travel agent information...we included this information on our wedding website as that kind information can change and should be updated as your plans progress.
  14. I know that people are more laid-back in Jamaica and always hear that they are on "island time". To be honest, I get so frustrated with our wedding coordinator and vendors -- who all seem to take weeks to respond to emails. It's frustrating when we're trying to make monetary-related decisions and need their feedback or information. Do I just need to accept and live with this slow response time? If you're a vendor on this forum, please consider that this slow response time is not typical in most professions.
  15. My fiance and I are also thinking of using our IPOD for our ceremony and reception, because we already have extensive playlists. We're thinking of renting the sound system equipment from a DJ company in Jamaica, so we don't have to carry all of this on our trip. We're still doing research, but equipment rental ranges from $200 - $300 including set-up. It would great to get some current feedback from recently married brides how their IPOD reception turned out.
  16. Who is the current BDW travel agent (and email) specializing in Jamaica? I emailed the Wright Travel Agency last week but haven't gotten a response yet. Thanks.
  17. Like Being a couch potato on the weekend?
  18. These jute bags are really cute and cheap! Wish they came in orange and red...our wedding colors. What did you get then for your male guests? Thanks!
  19. Oh, sorry...just noticed that your wedding was last week! Hope you were able to get help before the wedding.
  20. My fiance and I were in Jamaica earlier this year and stopped by Hi-Lo Market in Montego Bay, which is one of the largest supermarkets. They have tons of alcohol, including wines, rum and beer. Hi-Lo is very close to the Montego airport...about 10 minute drive.
