  1. The dresses are so gorgeous...can't wait to start looking for mine!
  2. I've seen photos of brides wearing veils that were blown by the wind...I thought they looked really beautiful and elegant. Maybe wear them just for photos if you're worried about it being unwieldy while you walk down the aisle during the ceremony?
  3. I like the dress as-is...very simple and classy. If you want a bit of color, maybe use a colored sash?
  4. Thank you for the website...I also never thought to look for dresses at Martha Stewart.
  5. Wow, the Coronita message in a bottle is so creative and cute! You did such a wonderful job...congrats! Hope you don't mind, I might steal you idea and use mini Red Stripe Beer bottles for my wedding in Jamaica :-)
  6. Glad to hear that your fiance is being more helpful and responsive!
  7. I'm definitely not having a bridal shower....if you really have to register, go for the honeymoon registry!
  8. Sorry that you're feeling frustrated, Bmadzia1. Don't let other people's opinions and comments bother you so much (although I know it's hard to ignore). I feel the same way...I'd rather book a standard room and save the extra money for our honeymoon too!
  9. Wow, what a beautiful dress. I haven't started looking for dresses yet...to early for me to decide!
  10. Thank you Daisymable! I didn't even know that these things existed.
  11. Stacey Clarke does both photography and videography. We not interested in videography, but got a proposal from her for photography. Her price list indicates that you can add videography for $200. Her bio on her website states that she started as wedding videographer. http://www.staceyclarkephotography.com/
  12. The last time I was in Jamaica, it was so hot that I never wore make-up. If you had a beach wedding, is it comfortable wearing make-up and does it look natural? I wasn't even thinking of wearing any make-up for wedding...just sunblock and some lipstick. Hmmm...
  13. Does anyone have the current 2011 price lists for wedding arches and bridal bouquets from Floral Fantasies? Thank you.
  14. This is really cute. My fiance doesn't want to use real starfish though and the fake ones are not very pretty!
  15. My fiance and I review every contract together, and do a lot of research on hotels and vendors before selecting. I think the reality for us is that it'll be very costly to pursue any legal action internationally, and probably not worth the time and money. We just hope that we're establishing positive relationships with our hotel and vendors, and they value their reputations.
  16. So far, my biggest stress is worrying whether my family and friends can afford to attend our destination wedding. In the end, I know I need to focus on the people who do come to our wedding and not to worry about those who don't or can't attend.
  17. We're thinking of doing our ceremony at 4 pm, which will be less than half an hour. We'll probably do cocktails for about an hour while my fiance and I take some photos. The dinner will then probably start at 6 pm. We don't want to be away from our guests too long and don't want them to have to wait too long before dinner.
  18. OMG...that villa is gorgeous! What a wonderful choice. Have a great time in Jamaica next week and keep us posted!
  19. I think there are very few brides on this Jamaica forum who are having weddings at villas or non-inclusive hotels, but you'll still get a ton of wonderful ideas from other brides. My fiance and I are having our wedding at a small, non-inclusive hotel. It's not a villa, but we do have to handle everything except for the reception dinner which is being catered by the hotel. Luckily, we have an outside wedding coordinator who's implementing everything for us.
