MyMy, yes I will go with the private reception. The $75 one, since we have 10 or more rooms, it will be discounted to $60. There is a time frame to get the money to the resort, I think its either 30 or 45 days, I would have to check. The ask for a guest list and all of that. My wedding is in October, so not many have booked yet, so I'm kind of estimating 40. We will see what I really get. The area... its outside, so you will be in sand, I ran across a guests pictures on one of these threads, if I happen across it again I will post it. But from what I understand tables are in the sand under a wooden tent??? I cant find the correct word at this hour. My question will be where is the dance floor. I will have to pay for the guests upfront I believe. To my understanding everything is paid for 30 or 45 days upfront. Hair/Makeup... My sister is a cosmetologist and my maid of honor, we will try my hair style out that I have chosen one of these days. For makeup *sigh* I may have to break down and pay the $100 for them to do it. There is a $30 trial charge and a $70 wedding makeup charge. Such a ripoff!!! I'm praying that my makeup artist cousin comes with us. Krystina, your flowers are absolutely stunning. Are they silk or the real touch I've been hearing about?

I would like to see the silk flowers as well Krystina, I'll PM you. Since I am not prohibited from bringing my own items for the wedding, I thought I may just get away with going to pick up my flowers, I would put them in bags if I had to. I mean what are they going to do, take them from me as I walk down the aisle. However I am not opposed to silk, I have heard of many brides doing this, I just need them to look real. I guess Renee is everyones WC lol, she takes a while to get back to you. I'm still waiting on her to email me a price for a grooms cake, I think it has been a month. MyMy, my wedding party has dwindled from 8 to 5 girls. We are budgeting for 40 people to show up, but booking has been really slow.

drfoune, yes my WC told me that it is discounted by $15 if you book 10 rooms. I'm curious as to how the wedding planning works as well, cant help you with that one. MyMy, I will go to pick up the flowers, so the vendor will not be on site. However the owner says she has delivered to Beaches before, I dont want to chance that. My next task is figuring out what to do as centerpieces because I refuse to pay $100 per table for a vase of orchids.

I'm doing the Beautiful Beginnings wedding as well, however I don't care for the orchids and prefer round bouquets so I'm getting them from Floral Fantisies. Also, I found from another thread that Beaches will provide free tables (with white table cloths, china, glassware...) for free. So essentially I would be paying $100 per table for a pink matt and a vase of orchids to be added. Thats crazy, so I'm trying to figure out my own centerpieces. We are doing the 3 hour reception, and since we will have over 10 rooms, we will do a $60 per person dinner, which is the $75 one discounted.

If I remember correctly, it was if they are guests of the resort. I just went through my emails with the WC, but I guess we verbally discussed that one. I would ask her or call the resort if I were you. With that said, if your photographer doesnt have lighting etc, seems to me it shouldnt be an issue if they snap you. The same as if you were to pose for another guests pictures.

I'm getting married at Beaches Negril Oct, 2011. I would love to do a grooms cake for my fiance'. Has anyone done this in Negril? If so, where did you get it done? I would like to find a bakery. My WC is getting a quote from their bakery, but I know it will be an arm and a leg. Can anyone help?

I asked my WC, she said as long as the photographer is a guest and brings no equipment we were fine.

Georgous Pics Tennyt1. I noticed your sand ceremony, Did you add this to your wedding, or provide your own stuff? If you provided your own, did you have to pay $50 for them to set it up?

Herwecome, were the guest able to here all the vows? Did you guys have mics? I've been reading comments about ipods and cdplayers... Does this mean noone got or is getting a DJ. Do you think its unneccesary to have one?

Herewecome, Congrats on your recent marrige. I will be getting married at Beaches Negril Oct 15, 2011. My wedding is at sunset, 5:30 they told me. How do you feel the weather was around this time? Windy, hot??? I'm sort of scared it will be dark before I take all of my pictures. Did you do any set up of your own? This is kind of my main concern, I'm wondering if there is security in the ceremony/reception area that will stop me from doing things. Small things like putting favors on the tables, or creating my petal aisle, which my WC said I could do. I have also been talking to a florist there about getting my bouquets through her. I'm wondering if I pick them up will someone tell me I cant use them. She has such resonable prices.
