  1. Thank you for that info Brandy. We pretty much just figured out that we will have 18 (including us) total...so we are thinking of doing one of the restaurants for sure. And I saw that one of the ladies on here had her dinner at Schooner's and it was in a secluded area of the restaurant...so we are leaning toward that. I think we will make our final decisions when we get down there.
  2. Hey Ladies! My wonderful fiance and I finished our invites!! Most are already handed out personally, but the rest will be mailed today. Here is a link to them if you'd like to see! I <3 them sooooo much!!!!! And such a rewarding project!!! But thank goodness they are done! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/77921/my-diy-message-in-a-bottle-mib-invites#post_1727673
  3. First I just want to say that this was a very long project from start to finish, but SO rewarding once guests started getting the invites and seeing their reactions. I want to thank so many of the girls on this forum for their ideas and inspiration for my invites. I do not take credit for the ideas here at all, because I could have never thought of it myself! I made these more of my own in some ways, but just borrowed ideas from different girls on the forum. So here they are!!
  4. Well you better get out there girl!! Lol I was told when I went and had only 5 months that there wasn't enough time to order something so I had to buy off the rack...lucky that the one I loved was on the rack and in my size!! Good luck hunting girly and trust me when I say YOU WILL KNOW when it's THE dress!!!!
  5. That's the thing, I know the first dress was beautiful and it looked nice on me, but I just wanted that Wow factor and this dress really has it! That's Vera for ya! Haha I'm so excited to have a designer label dress at such a low cost.
  6. Thank you so much!!!! ))) best feeling in the world to know you found the right one!
  7. And here is my new DREAM dress!! It looks like I am 7 feet tall in this pic but that's because I was standing on a little platform. They hemmed it a little bit for me. The picture doesn't do it justice at all. I so love this dress, and it totally makes me feel like a bride!! I can't WAIT to wear it!
  8. Ok I finally figured out how to post pics!! I have been using my IPad and it doesn't give you the option to post pictures like if you are on the computer...so frustrating! So here is the 1st dress that I ended up returning... the next post will be my new dress
  9. Major dress doubt !!
  10. Hi Mcdoug! We keep going back and forth on whether to do a restaurant or a "private reception"...now the family members that are coming down keep commenting about being around too many kids during their "vacation"..:eek:the reason we are doing Beaches is because my 6 year old son will be with us and in the wedding. Brandy, you had a private reception right? Was it truly away from all the other guests?
  11. Hmmm I don't have this option when I post from my IPad....I even went to the help forum for posting pics...is it something you have to do from a laptop/computer instead?
  12. Welcome Brebon! You should come join the Beaches Turks & Caicos Roll Call thread. It has tons and tons of helpful advice from past Beaches brides and even pics and reviews! Everything you are asking about is definitely an option. It's all just an extra fee. Have you booked your wedding yet? Once you do that then an off site "wedding coordinator" will send you the wedding packet with some of the pricing and info on all the packages. Congrats and Happy planning!!
  13. Brandy thank you again!! You have been such a huge help!! I have been going through every page of this forum reading about Beaches...last night we assembled our MIB invites, they turned out amazing!! Since it was such a long project my fiancé and I got to really sit down and chat about the wedding and we may do the private reception....still not positive, it's going to depend on where our budget comes in but I really want to do a private location to make our guests feel special. I wish I could post pics to show all you girls my things..:slowly but surely Im getting my posts up! I shouldn't have been a lurker for so long! Lol
  14. Susan, I have the same boxes and I did pack a reply card and envelope in easily...I actually put the card and envelope in first and then the bottle... My envelope is 5 3/4" x 4 1/2" and my reply card is 5 1/4" x 4 1/4"...hope that helps! Oh and if they were any bigger, I really don't think the box would have closed!! Lol Good luck!!
  15. I just wanted to let you know that your MIB invites were a huge inspiration to me...my fiancé and I made ours yesterday...it was hilarious because he seemed to think it was going to take no time at all to do these...we were going on 4 hours of working on them when I looked at him and said "see.....a project like this isn't easy!" and he stuck in helping me out the whole time!! We have about 10 more to finish today but we took some to our family last night and personally delivered them and it was so rewarding to see how much they loved them!! Ladies if you are thinking of doing it, DO IT! but know that it is time consuming.....so rewarding though!! Thank you for your tips Sunshine!! Best of luck with your wedding!!
  16. Brandy thank you SO much! Do you know if they allow you to pick a restaurant to have the "reception" dinner at? I think what we are going to do is, the 1/2 hr cocktail reception right after the wedding, and then go take some pictures and have everyone meet up at the restaurant for the dinner. I keep hearing that the 1/2 hr cocktail reception is when you do your toasts, cake cutting, 1st dances, etc...is that enough time?? And do you get to pick where the cocktail reception is?
  17. Hello Beaches Brides!!! I am sitting here with my wedding budget and spreadsheet of all the expenses in front of me and starting to freak out! LOL I have a quick question for past brides...I am going with the "free" wedding with the Beautiful Beginnings package...I know I have seen that a few of you have just had your "reception" at one of the restaurants and didn't have to pay extra since they are all inclusive....My question is, have any of you had around 20-25 people doing this? We are looking like 20 max, but to be on the safe side I want to say 25....I want to see if anyone thinks this will be an issue to have the whole party together at one of the restaurants...and ANY advice you can give would be excellent!!! We are trying to save some money and figuring since it's an all inclusive this would be the best place to start.... Also in regards to the "cocktail reception" I know you have to pay extra per head over the 4 people included in the BB package for this...and I have seen some say that the 30 mins only include the waiters walking around...so does that mean you can definitely stay in that area for a longer period of time? And if so, how long did you stay before going to a dinner at one of the restaurants, or your reception? Thank you for ANY advice you can give!!! I have 4 months...and the stress is starting to kick in! ~Jess
