canadiangirl! Yeah I was considering the Palladium. A guy I know got married there and highly recommended it but I have heard bad reviews about their service. Wow! You have looked into a lot of resorts! Congrats on the new addition by the way! Will he be coming to the wedding? Hi ladies! So I REALLY want to be an April 2012 bride but haven't confirmed anywhere yet (mostly because the resort hasn't gotten back to us)! I'm getting really anxious that I don't have a date or resort picked. I was originally really concerned with the cost for the guests but I feel like there isn't a ton I can do about that right now. So where I'm at right now is finding the resort that I like and booking a wedding date with them. We have a TA but its my FI mother and I believe she's a little newer to it. What are the next steps after confirming with the resort your wedding date? I'm working on the STD to send out as soon as we have the date. Oh and I'm also working on our website but I feel like there is just soooo much to do!!! Questions: 1. Am I supposed to book a bunch of rooms at the resort for my guests? (How can I do this if I don't know who all will actually go?) 2. Do guests typically book with my travel agent or do they find their own rates? 3. Should I be really concerned about the airfare that comes out for April 2012 right now for Jamaica or will it go down in a few months? Thanks in advance to any helpful suggestions etc! Ok, confession....if I cld think of a juicy confession....which I haven't yet, I would be worried ppl I know would see it....? Ok.....I got one! If my dad doesn't come to my wedding like he has offered (to stay home w/ the grandkids) I will basically disown him!!!!

I agree, the guest situation has been a stressor but I keep reminding myself that it can't be personal! I have had a hard time with my guests telling me one thing before I officially decided on having a DW and then changing their mind once I decided. For example my sister who I am pretty close with (especially her children) told me initially that she totally wanted me to have a DW so that her and her family would have a reason for an "awesome vacation" Well she later told me that bringing children to Jamaica would not be a vacation for her and her husband! At the time this was very upsetting to me because I am very close to those kids and wanted them all there! If she would have told me they may not be able to come....I may have not gone with a DW?? Anyways, I have gotten over that problem. If she wants them there, they will be there. If they don't end up being there, I will survive and the wedding will still be beautiful even if I don't have a super cute ring barrer or flower girl....:-( I now understand that having 3 children under the age of 8 would be a lot of work and $$$$.

Marie, I do not think you are over-reacting in the least! This is your wedding! Why would anyone ever want their FI's ex's at their wedding and what type of people would be that stupid to invite them!!! I feel bad! Wish I had advice for you! You sound like a very nice girl and probably wouldn't do this but what I would do is tell that person who invited her to uninvite her! I also wouldn't pay extra $ to have her at my wedding especially if she was causing problems when you 2 first started dating! Those type of girls disgust me! I say tell your FI BF's GF to uninvite her!!!! However she wants to do that is up to her but she caused the problem and now she should fix it!! Good Luck!!

Thanks for the info. That's great that you were able to get a cost adjustment! I really want a beautiful wedding and it sounds like Iberostar has this!!! Sounds like they are having some issues with a WC currently, so I'm anxious to see how the reviews are from the brides that are there now like Chan_porty!

Does anyone know about their cancellation policy? I am trying to book at Iberostar Beach but they are not getting back to us :-( they said that if we cancel once the legal paperwork has gone thru we wld be charged $100. but the airfare for when we are wanting to go hasn't cone out. So when they do come out, if it's over $500 we may need to consider other places to try and keep it affordable for our guests..... So what im asking is how long do i have to decide before im charged the cancellation fee? Thanks to all the wonderful and helpful brides! :-)

So far my biggest and current stressor is deciding on a resort. Taking into consideration the cost for the wedding package and guests travel expenses. Everyone wants us to have a date and know what resort! I'm doing the best I can but know that cost is an important factor and if it wasn't we'd be booked already! This site has been awesome for me. I come on here to get support, vent and get great ideas! Its the best!

Yeah that's a great idea! I'll tell him the photo shoot will be foreplay and he'll get the rest when we get home! I'll try it! ;-)
