  1. Quick question for past brides... So I am about to order chair sashes. I wanted them to be on the chairs for the ceremony, and the chairs for the private reception. Does that mean I should buy double the amount of chair sashes, so that they can be ready and in both places, or will the resort move the chair sashes for me? I just wanted to make sure I order enough. Thanks so much ladies for all your help!!
  2. For all past brides who used Rashel (or another off site make up artist for that matter), where did she apply your makeup. I am planning on having my hair done at the spa in the hotel, but wanted to know if Rashel would be allowed to apply my makeup in the spa as well, or would the make up have to be done in my room? Thanks.
  3. RE: Outside vendors I think there is a lot of confusion about what the vendor fee is going to be (ie day pass and vendor fee 100 v 175 dollars) and whether outside florists are allowed. I just looked at the Wedding Agreement and it says VENDORS OFF PROPERTY: FLOWER SHOP: the hotel works with an outside flower shop called “Tai Floraâ€. All flowers services should be hired through this flower shop. If the couple will choose to use another vendor, a vendor fee will apply. The current fee is $100 per person. PHOTOGRAPHER: the hotel has an exclusivity agreement with the Photoshop on property “Digipix Ltd.â€. If the couple desires to hire the services of any other photo shop or photographer they should pay for a day pass fee in order to allow the photographer on property. The current fee is $100 per person. WEDDING PLANNERS: The hotel does not allow any outside wedding coordinators. Therefore: The fee ought to be $100 per person for each outside vendor, and they seem to allow outside florists. The only person/vendor they specifically exclude in the agreement are wedding planners. I am going to use this agreement in the event any issues come up. It certainly does not say that they have to pay $175 per person for each outside vendor. I have already paid a deposit for an outside florist. So I am not going to lose the deposit in the event that they changed their policy without explicitly letting me know. I don't know if this will work - but I am certainly going to use the documentation they provided me in order to estaiblish what the cost should be, and what vendors they can/cannot exclude. I know previous brides have used Floral Fantasies or Godfrey Guy. So it has been done before. However, there seems to be a lack of consistency in what they tell people. Which makes planning especially challenging. If past brides can share some light on their experiences that would be great. Food for thought anyway.
  4. You could ask one of the replica dress makes to make your dress. Each one would have a different price, and it would be somethign that you would notice with the fabrics, but since it is for pictures alone, I don't how how much it would matter.
  5. I live in high heals, so it would be strange for me to be in anything but. I really wanted to wear colour, and found that for whatever reason, most of the designers were making neutral colour shoes. So when I saw these, being so close to my wedding colours, I had to have them.
  6. I would try going to another jeweller for a second opinion. Perhaps they need to redo the prongs. It doesn't seem like the place you have been taking it to is able to fix it. But since you love the ring, I wouldn't melt it down for a new setting. I think you should be able to fix the setting you have. I think you should have the store pay the bill, since they are unable to fix it properly.

  8. Question for PAST IRHS brides - does the hotel or tai floral offer parisols for sale? Do they have colour options - or am I just taking what I can get? I really like them, and would like to have a few for guests, but would rather get them there. I would buy them here, but they are large, and think the extra cost for the weight of the luggage would even out the inflated resort prices. Thanks!

  10. Not sure what your date is - but I just booked January 5-12 (wedding on Janaury 9), 2012 at the Suites for $1680 all in from Toronto to Montego Bay. SO it is possible. But we are doing a Thursday departure (not sure if that makes a difference to you or not). Obviously some weeks are more expensive than others. Have you tried different TAs?
  11. Does anybody know what day of the week they do the beach party at the hotel? Is it a lunch or dinner event?
  12. For you ladies that had a TTD session, did you go off the resort, or stick with the beach and pool in the resort. I'm just trying to think about locations. I am bringing a photographer and videographer with me, so they won't be able to suggest places to go.

  14. where do you girls get the samples (travel size) medication ie tylenol, advil etc for the hangover hits. I can't find them anywhere.
  15. I am a little confused about the open bar, for any brides that are having, or have had a private reception. I guess I can't get my head around why there would be an open bar charge that is per person, since it is included in staying with the hotel. I can almost understand paying for a bartender. Maybe it's just me. Do any brides know what the price is for open bar at the suites for a private reception.
  16. I have been to the Suites two years ago on a holiday. I really enjoyed my time there. I thought the hotel and service was great. And so it was an easy choice for us to decide where to go. how about you?

  20. Since I am the only one that lives in the City, I wouldn't want everyone to come here for just me. Try and plan a location that works for everyone, and I will figure something out. Although it is possible that I will take you up on your offer CdnBeatPrincess. I am really looking forward to this!
