  1. Congratulations! Don't feel bad, I didn't know they gave a welcome fruit basket. Totally agree about gazebo! We had them setup cooler and ice and we tipped the bartenders to give us 2 gallons of rum punch and this other vodka based drink. It was definitely a good investment
  2. They did put tableclothes down, but it looks like they had like an underlying layer that was printed. Here's a picture at Dolce: Not sure if you have a TJ Max, but they normally have them or even Walmart. IKEA may also have them.
  3. Thank you much! That is everyone's favorite. A photographer here told me that it took some skills (and a great camera) to get that to look as good as it did. Thanks to my hubby helping us with the process. One good thing I liked about our photographer (well 2)...not only was she fun and professional, she was creative and she knew the areas very well (because she lives there)...so she knew when the water would be a certain color, or when the clouds/sunset would be at it's best.
  4. I used Sungold photography, Antoinette and Clayton were my photographers. Here is the link to see my photos. Most of our trash the dress shots were towards the end. http://wpajamaica.com/show/assoc_ag/Tekeya-Telley/
  5. I did take my paperwork, which ended up getting us in the Club Golden room because it was documented that we would have an upgraded room, not floor. Other than the notarized birth cert and passport, Chandlyn had everything else. She took notes and the meeting with her went really well. I can't speak for Donnalee.

  7. FleetMac bride, I had issues with the "upgrade" situation promised in the free package also. What Chandlyn said is that it upgrades you to a higher up room on the floor and the amentities in the room (the slippers and robes), but not an "upgraded" level. There is an upgraded level that allows you access to the Internet Room, free safe, and liquor in the internet room. This comes with the "Club" level. There is a newer side to Gran Bahia that was built only a couple years ago...I had to request that we were on that side. That's probably the different building your agent is referring to.
  8. Yes they are still available. It can easily go in a priority mail shipping envelope. PM me
  9. My travel agent recommended island routes, www.islandroutes.com. We did our excursion thru them and I also recommended them to cupcake. They provide free roundtrip transportation in the price and pick you up from your hotel.
  10. how about I am just seeing this.....ahhh cupcake ;-) Loves ya girlie!!!
  11. The resort created the menu cards being that we didn't finalize the menu until Thursday before the wedding. You have the option to switch up items on the menu. Once that is finalized, Chandlyn creates the menu cards and it's personalized with your wedding (has your names in it).
  12. Here's one of the inside pages. I didn't want to post the wedding party page to have respect for other's privacy. The last page was modified but I don't have a pic of it, just the finalized wording. We shortened it. 13. I didn't give their minister anything, like you said, I just paid him $200 to only pronounce us and do our sand ceremony. It wasn't even 10 minutes. I purchased my cousin who officiated most of the wedding Tiffany earrings. We tipped the waiters, bartenders, cab drivers as we used them. We gave the housekeeper some leftover welcome bag stuff and $20. We gave Antoinette (photographer) $20 and my trash the dress dress. She could easily sell that for $$$. We gave the videographer $200 because he stayed overtime 4 hours.
  14. Totally agree with cupcake!!! Technically, my guests helped them out with putting the reception decor together, and they weren't there to actually coordinate much of anything. If you do give them a monetary tip, I wouldn't give them much.
  15. Hi BusyBee, I gave Chandlyn a gift onsite, it was a custom made wine bag, and one of the welcome bags we put together for the friends. I was waiting on my thank you cards, but plan to mail her $50. Not giving Donnalee anything because I only worked with Donnalee at the last minutes (the night before and a few minutes on the day of the wedding), and can't say she put in much work.
  16. Hope this helps, these are pics others took at the reception. I am convinced Gran Bahia kept some of my freeze dried rose petals for their usage ;-( because it was supposed to cover the tables more. my table numbers were printed the wrong way accidently ;-( . All good. No one noticed ;-) This is a pic of the menu card Gran Bahia provides.
  17. Hi Natalie, I wore heels. The path is cobble stone, so like cupcake said, if you are not an experienced heel wearer, be cautious. Recommend that you take them to rehearsal with you, so that you can get a feel for the walk. It is a pretty long path, my song played the whole way thru. I had my lady in waiting keep my flip flops on hand but I wanted to wear heels for the height. I will say, the wind was blowing so darn hard, that my dress kept getting caught on my heels...it was funny because every few steps, I had to stop and regroup it on the fly ;-) But because after the ceremony we IMMEDIATELY went into picture mode, and we took several pics on the cliffs/rocks, I knew my heels would show and wanted to make sure I showed them off ;-). My bridesmaids also opted for heels
  18. I can't believe they said that about Dunn's River Falls. I have been also and had a GREAT time. My husband, who is really not into stuff like that was also glad we went. Surprising.
  19. Hi there, No they provided the chair covers, I took my own chair sashes.
  20. I fortunately didn't need to steam mine, but we purchased a cheap travel steamer from Bed Bath and Beyond to take with us for the bridesmaids dresses and his suit. The resort only has an iron.
  21. Paper Lantern Lights are Sold. I will create a new post with all the updated leftovers. Thanks
  22. AWESOME~~~ I am totally happy for you and everyone else getting married in the next few months. It's an excellent feeling and everyone is still talking about it. FYI...on your way to the resort, make sure you stop at this popular jerk house, I will see if I can get the name of it. It has the BEST jerk!!! Everyone on the island knows the name of it, and it's on your way, on the left...pretty nice size building (I think it was a red color). The jerk on the resort is Okay, but it's not like the jerk that is off the resort.
  23. Congrats!!! I totally know how you feel. It didn't hit me until we were on the way to the airport, as I talked to my self in the limo, "NUT you are getting married, the day has come Joy Joy!!! ;-)!!! I am glad you got RoxRoy, he's an awesome guy. Who did you go with for the photography?
