  4. Hi Jess, my FI and I are traveling to Punta Cana this March to scope things out before booking our wedding in March 2013. We will be staying at RPPC, if I collect any info I think is helpful, I'll be sure to come back and post it here.
  5. My FI and I will be visiting the Riu Palace Punta Cana this March, as well as the sister resorts. Let me know if there is anything I can check out for you while I'm there. I just could not stand the thought of booking a wedding at a resort (and country) I've never been to!
  6. My cousin's gf is a cake decorator. I'm hoping our resort will let her in the kitchen to decorate our cake the way we'd like it.
  7. Great tips ladies, I'll definitely have to include this info somewhere. I'll let you know if I pick ip any other tips on our upcoming trip to the DR in March.
  8. Yeah, what is some good local food/snacks to try while we are there or to bring home?
  9. Great ideas ladies! My FI and I are traveling to Punta Cana this March to scope things out before booking our wedding in March 2013, I hope to gather some good ideas and learn some things about the local culture while we are there.

  11. Hi ladies, I am not a 2012 bride but do plan on getting married at the Riu Palace Punta Cana in March 2013. This thread has been very informative so far, I'm definitely taking notes. My FI and I will be travelling to RPPC Feb 28-March 6 this year to scope things out to be sure this is where we want to have our wedding before making such a huge commitment. I'd like to meet with the WC's while we are there, do you guys have any other suggestions on questions I can ask, or things to look for while i'm there? Anyone getting married WHILE I'm there??? That would be pretty cool...
  12. I've had my arm pits and brazilian area done, I found the numbing creams didn't work that well for me, taking some ibuprofen before hand helps a little. But the best thing I did on my own, was put some water on a maxi-pad, put it in the freezer, and after the bazillian laser, put the cold pad on, feels so nice!!!
  13. Ooops, still learning how these forums work. Just a quick FYI, if you have any people that live closer to the Michigan border, like I do, they could fly out of Detroit (or probably Buffalo) for a significantly cheaper price.

  15. Or maybe instead of the pounds lost, we can post how many times we've been to the gym every week. My goal is to go 3-4 times a week....but I kind of got out of the groove over the past few weeks. I've been cheating too much on my "healthy diet" too . Plan is to get on track tomorrow, and head to the gym as soon as I get up. I find that paying for a gym motivates me a bit, if I don't go to the gym my monthly payments are going down the drain!!
  16. my hair dresser today mentioned silk lashes, and said although they are pricier, they look alot better!
  17. What kind of things have you ladies been doing to get out there and get active? I need some ideas, especially now that the weather is getting colder and drab. I enjoy taking part in the body pump classes at Goodlife, but I need some more ideas. My FI and I play indoor volleyball once a week, we've signed up for salsa and merengue classes in Janurary, and I'm signed up for indoor soccer once a week.
  18. Hi ladies, my FI and I just signed up for salsa and merengue dance lessons starting this Jan. hopefully we'll be able to show off some of our new moves in the DR!! Need something else to pass the time seeing as it's still too early to start any kind of planning.
  19. I've just returned from the Mayan Riviera in early February. I'm not sure if misquitos are seasonal there but we did not have any issues with bugs at all! I'd go back myself in a heartbeat, I hope you enjoy!
  20. This is a great idea, I'd like to include somthing like this into our OOT bags, which I hope to give to guests before our departure.
  21. I love this!! I am sending out STD postcards and considered using the same photo of the starfish. You found it online right? I'll try making my own using vistaprint, but have to wait until we book with the resort. I will also be getting married in Punta Cana but at the Riu Palace.
  22. I think I'm going to give the "Zone Diet" another try. I did it back in my first year of university, along with going to the gym 3-4 times a week which included 30-60 minutes of cardio and a quick 20 minute circuit of the weight machines. That was the best I ever looked and felt! The zone diet is fairly easy to follow once you get the hang of it, and is not so much about limiting certain foods or calories, but is more about balancing carbs, protein and fats at each meal and snack. I'm going to head to the library tomorrow to see if I can get a copy of "Enter the Zone" so I can familiarize myself with the program again. If you're interested I found some information on the diet here: http://library.crossfit.com/free/pdf/cfjissue21_May04.pdf. BTW I've been to the gym every day for the last 3 days and am planning ongoing to a yoga class tomorrow, Yay! Wedding dress and bikini here I come!!!
  23. I bought Instead a couple of years ago and gave it a shot then. I didn't like it at all. After reading this thread I may give it another go. It works OK for periods that are quite light?
  24. I had my eyes done about 6 years ago. It was the best decision I've ever made (besides saying 'yes' when my FI purposed). I used to wear my contacts from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to bed. I now see better then 20/20 and would recommend it to anyone!
