Sosodj, no you still pay per stamp, however Rexall has 5-10% off stamp sales once and a while, but you just get the regular canadian ones.

Thanks again for your help everybody, I went back to the store the next day and bought dress # 1 instead, Allure 8815. I have no regrets, I'm really happy with my decision now, and can't wait till it comes in so I can try it on again!! I'm making my own veil, bought the tulle a few days ago; anyone else have experience with a diy veil? -

Wedding dress hanger
philanab replied to sunlover2013's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hi ladies, I've made a tutorial. Check it out http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/80563/diy-wedding-dress-hanger-tutorial -
Hello ladies, I love the custom wedding dress hangers and considered buying mine from etsy, but couldn't bring myself to pay $20+ knowing I could make it myself for only a few dollars each. A couple ladies asked for instructions on how I made mine, so here it goes, my first tutorial ever... Please let me know if you have any questions. What you'll need: Wooden hangers (preferably without the wooden dowel) - bought on sale at Zellers 12 guage aluminum wire - from Michaels in the jewelery section (3 yds is enough to make about 2 - 3 hangers) Wire cutters Lipgloss or something else round Paper and pencil Drill and some sort of glue (not pictured) Decorative flowers - from Michaels, or ribbon First I had my fiancé help me pull/break off the wooden dowels from all the hangers Then drew a template by tracing the bottom edge of the hangers onto paper and drawing my letters to fit Using the template start to shape your letters using your fingers. Make sure you leave enough straight wire at the beginning that the top of your first letter will not touch the bottom edge of the hanger. You may want to have some extra wire on the side to practice with, if you make a mistake on your project it is very hard to unbend and get the wire straight again. Use the Lipgloss to wrap the wire around to make circular shapes Leave enough straight wire at the end of your word that the top of your last letter does not touch the bottom of your hanger. Next you drill a tiny hole on each end of the inner side of the hanger. Cut the wire so it will fit in the holes and put a tiny bit of wood glue on the tip of the wire before putting it in the drilled hole. Add your flower, these ones come with a sticky backing, or tie on a ribbon and voila! You're done, now make one for all the ladies in your wedding party. Please let me know if you have any questions, and post pictures of your creations. Have fun!

Please help me pick my dress!!
philanab replied to philanab's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hello again ladies, so....yesterday I went to try on dress #3, this time I got pictures because I picked it, I put down a deposit, but now I'm having second thoughts. I've called the store back today and asked them to put a hold on my invoice. I keep getting the feeling that I chose the wrong dress. I feel like I'm going crazy!! Did anyone else go through this? Anyways, here are pictures of me in both dresses, any differing opinions now that I have pictures of myself in both dresses? Here is dress # 1 again - I've only tried this dress on once, but it was my first day of wedding dress shopping almost a month and a half ago. I love the shape it gives me, I like the beading on the top, the true sweetheart neckline and the fact that it is a corset back. It also looks good with my mom's pearls. and the back... Now here is dress # 3 - found towards the end of my shopping experience, this is the dress that made me decide that I wanted the mermaid/fit-and-flare sillouette. I like that it's different - I haven't found pictures of a bunch of other girls wearing it. It does come with the flowered belt, but I can remove it and add my own jeweled belt like I've done below. It has a zippered back and is very light weight. I think I would make it into a slightly deeper sweetheart though. and another... Any thoughts? I wish someone else could make the decision for me! -

Thanks for your votes and comments everybody, I've narrowed it down to #1 and #3. The issue is that I tried on #1 in Michigan where they let you take pictures of yourself in the dress; I tried on #3 in London, Ontario and they will not let you take pictures until you buy it. I feel like I need to compare side by side pictures of me in both dresses to really make up my mind. Thanks again ladies, I'm getting closer to choosing! -
Hey ladies, I didn't realize that I was so picky and indecisive until it came to wedding dress shopping. I've narrowed it down to 3 dresses, all with a sweetheart neckline and mermaid/fit and flare sillouette. Please help me choose!! I've got less then 10 months until the wedding and really starting to feel the crunch! This is me in dress #1 Above is dress #1 on a model Here is dress #2, now imagine it without the shoulder strap and slightly less ruffles. And below is dress #3, all tulle, to which I would remove the flowered belt and put my own smaller flower or jeweled belt. Please let me know what you think, I'm really lost!

Here is the first hanger I made for my Maid of Honor, I still need to find a pretty ribbon or flower to put at the top. My Mother of the Bride hanger is going to have two rows. I got 8 hangers at Zellers for about $5 because they were on sale, and 12 gauge wire at Micheals for about $3.50 with their 40% off coupon. That's almost $1-2 per hanger, I plan to make one for all my bridemaids, mother of the groom and myself as well. -
Hey ladies, I just wanted to let you know that Canada Post has new commemorative stamps out for spring featuring daylilies! I was so excited to find these because the flowers look tropical and are pretty fuchsia and orange colours, which are my wedding colors. I'm going to stock up because my STDs are going out soon. These can be purchased online or at the post office

Riu Palace Punta Cana 2012

Hi ladies, I recently got back from my site visit. We had the opportunity to meet with Clara, one of the WC while we were there. A few prices that she gave me were if you want a private reception at the brazilian restaurant it's $1000, a semi-private reception at the steakhouse is $600. I struggle with this because we ate at both restaurants, the steak house is beautiful, close to the beach and gazebo, and open, BUT I was very disappointed with the food. The brazilian is a fairly small closed in room with pillars in the middle of the room, the the food is SO much better. The prices are for 6:30-10:30, and would be $100 for ever hour after. There is a price of 12.50 per guest over your 15 or 40 guest limit (depending on which package you choose). Which I understand is to cover the cake cutting and champagne service pp. The house MC and DJ is $700, or DJ only for $550. I also learned, if you don't Want either you can rent the DJ equipment and bring your own CD or Ipod to plug in. They also have fire dancers or cigar rollers at an extra cost. An open bar, with private bartender comes at an extra cost, otherwise you have the option of beer, rum or house wine. If you want bouquets and boutonnieres for the bridal party you'll pay extra for each. We also met with the house photographers Antillana and viewed their photo packages, which I was impressed with, they seemed very open to customizing a package to your liking. Remember, they will need at least 1.5 days to edit and print your pictures if you would like them before your departure. My fiance and I made a video tour of the resort, if you're. Interested in seeing it let me know and I'll give you the Facebook link. Let me know if you have any questions about my visit, I'll try to help where I can!!! -
Hi ladies, my FI and i are doing a site visit in the first week of March, if anyone wants me to take pics of anything or ask questions while i'm there...I'm going to try to gather as much info as i possibly can... seeing as it's quite hard to come by.

Wow, you guys brought up alot of points I haven't even thought of yet. The prices for the 2013 year are not posted so I can't even begin to plan, but I can imagine they will only go up from here. So much for choosing a DW to save money! I'd love it if you ladies would share pictures of your weddings.
