I think my dress is Satin, funny cuz I just went to look it up on the website and all it mentions is the Crystal Tulle thats the top layer, my dress is about 8lbs, I know this because I had it sent in the mail and that was the weight of the box, even tho its a slim a-line dress (Sottero Midlgey jsm1235) its got ALOT of beading. I am going to be so hot. But I love it, and it was an awesome deal. I cant flip flop on this one because its about the only thing thats solid right now.

I was trying to pin down a date for next November, all I know is they dont do weddings on Sunday for sure. But I dont think I would be able to really relax enjoy the rest of my vacation until the wedding has happened. So just for the symbolic wedding you have to be there for two full working days. hmmmm I just having a hard time picking a day thats over a year away. How does anyone pick this random date? Not really any question Im asking but I dont think anyone else I talk to gets how anxious I feel. I mean I picked the resort, I pick the month, the day, pretty much everything. And any question I ask him (because he hasnt googled his brains out about the whole thing like me ofcourse, he probably wouldnt even know the name of the resort) he really had nothing to base an opinion on so its "whatever you think honey" : ) But I do know its gonna be awesome in end, and its only a small portion of the planning that would be required for a wedding at home. I will keep that in mind.

Does anyone know what the maximum numbers are for the difference reception sites? Me and FI were just talking about the guest list tonight and well.. it seems that there will be a lot of invites, I figure before I invite all these people I should atleast make sure I can have what I want even if a lot of them come. Got a big family on my dads side and well I just went to a family reunion this summer and our wedding was what most asked and even some said that cant wait to go so I figure sure, why not, lets just see how many people will actually go. 100 ppl atleast on that side, and you know how it is, you invite one, u feel like u have to invite another. I dont figure most of them will go but some people can surprise you. Does this sound crazy? And Im not doing it to get a bunch of gifts, I dont even want that, but all this wedding invite etiquette is making me nervous. Some crazy rules.

I have been trying to search this thread for inforamation regarding passed horderves (but there is many different spellings so perhaps this is why) I am thinking of just having passed horderves and snack type foods at the cocktail reception/dance with no sit down supper. I recently went to a Cuba wedding and to be honest after sitting down and eatting a 4 course meal that last thing I wanted to do was drink/party/dance. The best part of that moment of the wedding was the speeches (so very heartfelt). Easily done. Guess the biggest concern would be the timing of it all, Wedding, law low time, for people to grab a bit somewhere, then cocktail reception? And to be honest the reason Im choosing a destination wedding is because of saving money, I have a large family, many of whom have expressed interest in coming (what the grand total will actually be who knows) but if I have to start paying for extra ppl it could add thousands on to the bill. So now, has anyone else thought about doing the same? Gotten any quotes regarding pass horderves or the like? or have pictures of the possible sites for the cocktail hour? I was hoping a terrace or near the beach. A beach party I think would be the greatest, have to decided that one for sure before I buy my shoes.

MY biggest stress is trusting my that with over a year to go that my bridesmaids will not bow out for whatever reason, just because things happen right? I am thinking of just nixing the whole idea of bridesmaids and just having my MOH (my sister who I know will be there) and telling the two ppl (only one of them I think would really care) that just decided to make it simpler. I dont know. I like to make it as simple as possible.

I have watched a lot of Say Yes to the Dress, but obviously not enough because I made the mistake of trying on a dress that I was not prepared to pay for. Sottero & Midlgey JSM1235, So for months now I have scoured the knock off thread, and the used dress websites, and ebay. And just by chance on ebay I happened upon an American Bridal Store selling with the sample for sale, in the exact size i needed, only problem was they did not sell internationally. Well after a few convincing emails, they agreed! And I got it this week. I love my dress.

I actually didnt care if my FI saw my in the dress, BUT when my dress came in, and I had it at home I really wanted to try it on but didnt have anyone to tie it up I refused to have him help me, so I gues he wont be seeing me in it until the wedding He doesnt want to see me in it either, he wants to be surprised.
