Hi Sheena, I am just curious as to which wedding package you are getting. I emailed Natalia my coordinator last week in regards to the fee for them setting up decor that we bring and she told me it was 4$ a person. I know that if you get the Dreams of Love of Ultimate package, the set up fee is supposed to be covered. I know if you have more then 20 guests, you do have to pay the set up free. I just wanted to make sure that you and I both got the same information. Happy planning and thanks for the measurements!

Tori, I would also check kijiji every few days in the Peterborough area. I did a search for turquoise ones and someone in my area is selling some! If I don't get them from this person, I will likely order from your website suggestion. If you can find some on kijiji, at least you could save the shipping!

Hi MJKH, Do a search on thee Smart deals web site for stores in Saskatchewan. I did a search for Alberta and found one in Edmonton...didn't even know there was one there!!!

Hi Camy, I can relate to what you are saying. My mom passed away almost 4 years ago and although I will still get to do the Father/Daughter dance, planning my wedding and doing all the stuff you would normally do with your mom without her has been extremely tough. I get excited about wedding stuff then turn around and shed a few tears...lol...Good thing my Fiance understands, he lost his dad 16 years ago. So regarding tributes, I thought I would share with you our ideas. I think Tori's friend's idea is very touching. I also had a friend recently get married and she had lost both of her parents. What they did is they had photos in nice frames on a table in front at the ceremony and reception, with a candle lit in front of each(votive). Then when it was time for a toast, they put a glass of champagne by each photo. We are planning on doing the photo idea at our ceremony. I have also seen others put a nice poem in a frame by the photos. For speeches, I think we are both going to say a word of how his dad and my mom would have loved each of us...more of a funny tribute...with a few tears I am sure. I.e. My mom would have loved him as he is a clean freak like her..... I am also going to carry a photo of my mom in a small frame tied to my bouquet...so she is with me:) Anyhow, there are a few ideas. Did your dad like any funny or crazy songs? If you are comfortable playing one, you could all get up and dance like crazy in honour of him!!

You don't think travel mugs would be used more?? I found some nice red and teal metallic ones at Canadian Tire for 5$ on sale....I was thinking of just getting some for our wedding party but there is only 13-15 people going...Thoughts? Tumblers or Mugs? For everyone or w. party? Thanks!~

Hi Tori., How are you getting the shepherd hooks to Mexico? Do they come apart? Thanks for the info about the tumblers. I think I am going to return them. I found some nice insulated cups in red and teal/turquoise at Canadian Tire for 5$. I think I am just going to get one for our wedding party... Found nice turquoise sand at Pier One , it even has sparkles in it...going to use it in my centrepieces. They also have pearilized shells but were pricey...18$ for 20. The ones I painted with metallic paint were just as nice. Sea glass!!!! They have turquoise blue, green, white glass in bags for 9$. I bought one bag and plan on using it to decorate the table. I checked online and pricey to get shipped.

Thanks for the head up and for the info about the ribbon you find at my colors at Dollarama...it seems like you have to go every few days since they are always unpacking stuff! I am heading to B.C. on Weds for a week so I will check their stores and maybe will find different deals.....I hope I have internet access or I may go crazy with no BDW site and chatting!

For Ladies looking for nice sewing kits, I found the Singer ones...really nice in a clear little box for 2.99$ at Zellers. The same one was 7$ I think at Fabricland. I couldn't find any at Michael's and the ones at dollar stores were too big. I only got one for us but nice find!

Although I didn't seem much else there, Giant Tiger had bug repellent wipes by the tills. I want shout wipes too and think I will have to order online or get FI to get them when he goes to Vegas on Conference...I so want to go in the suitcase...just so I can shop!!lol....

Thanks! Are you hanging the lanterns on the chairs? We were going to have the white chair covers and turquoise sashes so I am thinking it may be too much on the chairs. I could rent the stands. I starting making red pomanders but now don't know how I could use them. I like the idea of starfish on each side but I want to add some color. I may or may not use the aisle runner they have...sand color. What do you think about paper puffs like these and starfish in between? I could do red, turquoise or both? They are made out of tissue paper, I would have them tied and cut , flat and ready to puff up.....I would make them smaller then in the photos and have to stick them in sand somehow or take to side of runner. Hi Krysta, Which travel company is your package through? Air Canada, Westjet? I am in the same position as the other brides. We are leaving Jan 1. and we don't have to pay in full until November. But, if you want to get the deal and save a fair chunk of change, you have to pay in full by Sept.15. Before you talk to your TA, maybe double check online if you can the policies with the company...it is usually them that dictate the payment not the Travel Agency..And like the other girls said, remind the TA how many people may cancel if she can't help you out... Hi Natalie, I am in the same predicament. I had bought the plastic tumblers but after thinking about it and my FI asking me where I was going to put them...lol...I plan on taking them all back and getting just travel mugs for the wedding party. I looked at the bubba mugs site today too...I need to figure out the cost. They bigger ones are on sale right now at Canadian Tire for 7.50 I think. The smaller and thinner ones are 10$...those are the ones I want ...how much did one mug work out to being? The only thing is that they don't have a lot of colors...Have you tried Ebay? Tori made a good point, some people may bring them home with them and some won't...I would like to think if it's a bubba mug they would. It depends on your guests. Canadian Tire has nice thermal coffee mugs with different metallic colours on sale for 5$. They have my colors, red and turquoise but I think they had green and purple and possibly place. What are your colors or does it matter? Anyway, let me know how great the deal was. I did look at Walmart but they only had imitation bubba mugs and not as nice.

That is a good idea! I may get a couple more and keep them together for garland. I was looking at photos of past ceremonies at my resort and if you hung the starfish garland vertically on the gazeba or chubbah?..it would look pretty..maybe three hung. I am going to order more sugar starfish on Ebay and put some on the front of the gazebo with turquoise tulle. I may also put a starfish on each chair with the turquoise chair ties. What do you think about using fake rose petals? The hotel is charging a crazy amount for them and I was thinking of getting the fake turquoise petals to line each side of the aisle...I am making red fabric pomanders, was going to hang one on the end of each row of chairs, but now thinking it may be too much if I use chair sashes that are turquoise. Do you have any thoughts? I have looked at lots of photos but a bit frustrated on how to incorporate both of our colors, red and turquoise...

Tori, Silly question, but how did you know your starfish were fake? I am pretty sure mine are real...sugar starfish. I just figured that if they stink they must be real! I know I saw some at Winners, smaller ones and wondered if they were real or not, they were mixed in with potporri.
