Hi Ladies, I need to share or vent. So my fiance's best man, his stepbrother called him from the UK today to tell him that he can't come to our wedding!!! Understandably he lost his job a month or so again but it is really upsetting for us as we are not having a lot of people and his wife is one of my bridesmaids!! We are hoping his family may offer to help out...trying to keep positive thoughts.

Awesome Job! I have been playing around and want to do almost exactly what you did, and our weddings are only a day apart! I may print mine using Vistaprint if I can get them for free. Are you making your luggage tags double sided by photocopying them? Just curious. lugtag1.pub lugtagBACK.pub AandDtipholder.pub

Love your jewelry! I will have to check their stuff out! I was going to get mine from a woman that sells her jewelry at our local farmer's markets. Her stuff is just like yours but her prices are a fair bit higher. Thanks!

Janet, I love your programs! Do you mind if I ask what program you used for them? Did you do them yourself and print them at home? Could we see a closer shot of what you put on your pages? Awesome Job!

Hi Manda, I am planning on doing a brochure-pre wedding mail out. Going to try and put it together this weekend with all of the Vistaprint free stuff. I will post it once I make it.I found one on here from another bride that I really liked, she made it using Vistaprint brochure. I am also sending the luggage tags with the letter, invite....more of a formality...I ordered them on Zazzle.ca. Anyhow, maybe we will run into eachother at the airport, we fly into Cancun Jan 1, how about you guys?

Hi Avens, Nice dresses! Don't worry,. it will fall into place. We will have to stay in touch once you are settled in Edmonton. I just realized our weddings are about a week apart and both in the Mayan! So much to do! I might get your thoughts on my decor ...It seems to be taking forever to put together.! Happy Moving!!

Hi Ladies, This question is for past brides. We are now planning on changing our symbolic ceremony to a legal ceremony as we don't want to get married here before or after as both of our families can only make it to the wedding in Mexico...fiance's family are all in Scotland. If you did the legal ceremony in Mexico at DT, do you mind sharing our review or thoughts? I know there are a few extra costs, but we think it is less of a hassle having a second ceremony back home. Thanks!

Have you thought of not doing your oot bags at that time? You are talking about your wedding reception, right? I am thinking of giving one large maraca to each guest instead of a set and then I have painted sugar starfish with glittery paint (Martha Stewart) like FUTUREMRSTGUN did.;...check out her thread. I am going to print name place cards and tie them to the starfish. I agree with you though, you don't want too much going on on the table.

Hi Capecodder, If you need anything else for your wedding..i.e. cheap veil etc..I bought my wedding dress at the David's Bridal there, the one by the Palace casino..and I got great service! Make sure you go to both outlets...there is a north and south premium outlet...lol can't get enough shopping! Have fun!

Good choice! Do you mind if I ask how much it was? I really like it and I am considering getting on like it ...possibly for in the water photos day after our wedding! Thanks

Hi Cynlee, I am in the process of making some, they are cheap enough to make on your own...time consuming. Here are some pointers though. I made red ones out of fabric, look nice like the ones in your like but look a bit messy if the fabric you use frays easily. So now I am making some with different fabric, broadcloth but I am also using red tulle on top to make it look fancier and I am using pinking shears...finishes the edges. I made a turquoise one out of tissue paper using pinking shears and it looked great but....with travelling and touching it, it got crumpled up quite easily. I will post a pic in the next few days as I am making them today. I am hoping to use them on chairs, also in rectangular vases on the tables as real flowers are super expensive and not that ncie at my resort.

So it looks like you are almost ready to go/! You must be excited but I am sure running on full adrenaline! I have a quick questions for you about your starfish. I think you said that you dyed some of them with food coloring, did you use food coloring or fabric coloring? I think you said you did some of both, dyed and painted with the glittery paint? I am thinking of dying mine turquoise and red and use them as place card holders with a piece of wire wrapped around to hold the name. I also may decorate the aisle with some like you are doing! Try to get some zzzz's when you can! Take care!

Hi Tori, Thanks for the offer! I may take you up on it if you do go. All I want for my bridesmaids is callas...likely more then 3, I was thinking 4-6 if they are the right price. My sister could easily put them together. For mine, I want red and white callas and maybe some orchids. I am going to keep my eyes out at Home sense, my MOH saw some nice orchids today there but I need to go check them out. I did check out Enchanted memories out but her web site isn't that user friendly... I am going to compare bloomsbridal and wedideas again...like you if I can make them myself and save money, all the better.

This question is for past DT brides. Did you get your flowers with the wedding packages? If so, were you happy? Did you upgrade any of the bouquets? I want to get a real bouquet for me but am hoping to add a few flowers to it. What were your experiences with the florist? Were they flexible at all? I am now thinking of real touch bouquets for my BM and possibly a backup one for me that I can use when we renew our vows in the church back at home. Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks!

I agree with Tori, when you feel stressed about all the planning and diying it is great to know that you ladies are there for support and advice! Okay, so here is what I need your help on. I am starting to stress now thinking I didn't do enough for the wedding and ATR planning this summer and now back at work I am freaking out as I look at the calendar! Flowers- I looked at the flower pdfs the resort sent me and the choices are not that great...I am still wanting a real bouquet for me...may be pretty basic. But I am now wanting to get real touch or nice silk flowers for me and my bridesmaids(3). I know it is hard to get them shipped to Canada with certain companies and I know given the time I have left, most of the shipping dates are gone. I have been looking at Bloom bridal.com and Wedideas. Since you Canadian girls always have great advice, I am asking you what you would do? Have any of you used these companies? They have some ready made bouquets but I think I want to do some changes to those. My wedding is Jan. 4th so I need to act on this now. The other option is, getting silk flowers and getting my sister who had a flower shop to help me put them together....It is hard to get silks that are nice enough without have a flower shop license to go to the wholesalers. Michael's flowers right now are pretty picked out due to their big sale. Advice, ideas??? Thanks!!!

Canadian Real Touch Flowers...HELP!!!
amjohnson replied to soccergurl3's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Hi Bittersweet, Just wondering if you still do floral design for weddings. I see your web site isn't up anymore. I live in Alberta and looking for someone to do my DW real touch or silk flowers. Thanks! Ann-Marit -
Hi Ladies, I can't remember if it was on this thread of the Canadian Oot bag thread, but a bride posted some Vistaprint Thank you post cards that she had made with the attached post card background. I really liked what she wrote on it, and for the life of me I can't remember! I thought I had saved a photo of it, but didn't. Started to look through both threads but couldn't find it. I think the post was in July some time if that helps. If you know which thread it was or who it was can you let me know? Thanks!

Show us your wedding dress!
amjohnson replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hi Peach, I am Canadian also and I actually bought my dress at David's Bridal in Vegas back in March. I booked an appointment before we went for a holiday...I honestly thought I would just look as I heard they had a great selection. I had tried on over 20 dresses here....and everything I loved was over 1000$ which was way over my budget. The dress I bought is satin with floral appliques and petals and fit right when I tried it on. They had my size, cleaned it and steam pressed it for me. The girl helping me was amazing! It was a Saturday, they were busy but when she started an appointment with another bride, one of the managers kept an eye on me. I had been in nicer shops here at home but I didn't always get the help or selection that I got from my sales associate. I guess because David's is a larger company, service may not be consistent. Here is my dress. I may get it made into a sweetheart neck line. Any thoughts ladies? -
Show us your wedding dress!
amjohnson replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Kristen, I have to agree with the other brides. Your dress fits you really well. I really don't think you need to lose 20 lbs, you look great! I bought my dress in March before we had set our date and I too have had some doubts when I see other dresses on here. But then I tried it on again and remembered why it felt right when I tried it on for the first time. I had tried on lots of dresses before I found it! You could change the neck line if you wanted, but I think it looks so nice on you already. Remember to try it on again with the shoes, jewelry and a veil if you plan on wearing one. Then you will see the full affect! -
I love your cake topper! I have been going back and forth about getting one made but now that I have seen yours, I think I am going to go ahead and do it! We have a cat that we feel the same way about so I think I will order it and surprise my fiance. He is wearing a kilt so it may be more difficult to make it. Did you have to send her a detailed photo of you both? and dog?

amjohnson replied to Chris Elias28's topic in BDW Contests
Okay, Am I out of it or ...is the email sign up for the web site your entry form? I looked on the web site and facebook page and didn't see any entry form. Thanks! -
Hi Capecodder, I made my own as well as some for my bridemaids and FMIL. You can check my thread out in DIY projects. It is pretty easy, I can give you tips if you need any. The key is to find the right bling for the middle. It won't take you long to make!
