Yay! It is hard to decide on bands...and I didn't think they would be so costly. I started making name cards this past weekend...can't believe how time is flying by!

Thank you Pucca! My DW dress is a little more fun and modern, with floral beading and flower petals. As my brother, his fiancee, and my nephews and brother in law will not be at our wedding in Mexico, I kind of want to wear a wedding dress for our civil ceremony here.We plan on doing it at a indoor botanical garden then go out for a nice dinner. I agree with you, I love this dress!..I feel sexier in this one. I am going to try both of them on this week and take some photos and then maybe I will ask you ladies again for your words of wisdom. I may even take both to Mexico, they are both light and can be packed in one garment bag. I could wear this one for the reception... Never thought I would get two dresses and all under900$!!!

Hi Jenn, Okay, I saw someone mention Sears and I thought I would go and check for ya! I got my BM dresses there and I recently looked at a turquoise dress that I may get for me for Mexico. I remember that that is one of your colors so I went and checked what sizes they carry and they do carry size 24! Sears also carries petite and regular fit in most dresses. I included them link, these dresses are on sale right now for 75$..not bad. Since one of my bridesmaids backed out and has her dress in Scotland, I almost thought of getting these dresses for my other two bridesmaids as we had bought red dresses, long before my fiance decided to get his kilt (turquoise). Hi Jenn, That is too bad. After your wedding, you girls should make a big bonfire and set them on fire...lol...Not trying to make light of it. I would be peeved too. So here are a few ideas: 1. Le Chateau- Try the main stores and the outlets 2. For you and other Alberta brides, I found out yesterday that Davids Bridal is opening up a store in Edmonton, at our South Edmonton Common, just as you come into town from Calgary! The sign is up already so it shouldn't be long...wish it had been sooner. I will let you know if I find out when it's opening. Have you thought of trying Beyond the Rack? I know it is online but if you order all of the dresses at the same time they should defintely come from the same dye lot and their return policy is pretty good. I ordered two dresses from Haute look last week for 45$ each, going to keep one for my rehearsal dress and dinner. They have dress events once or twice a week, and there have been quite a few that would be nice as bridesmaid dresses. Good luck!

Hi Ladies, So below are two photos of the dress I bought today! I am having a small civil ceremony here to make our marriage "legal" before we head to Mexico. I really didn't want to wear my dress twice...wanted to keep it as a surprise for my fiance and our other guests in Mexico. So a local store has an annual sample sale and I went with my best friend. This dress is retailed at 1900$ and I got it for 200$! That was my budget exactly! Once I get nice photos with it on I will post them. My dress is ivory, I think the dress below is white. But I love this dress...maybe even more then my more expensive dress! Thoughts? Thanks

My fiance...you are going to laugh at this...First , you need to know that he is right from Scotland, which makes him very determined and very stubborn! I was making post cards like yours on Vistaprint and showed them to him. He said, Darlin, I want post cards will real writing in the sand! What? So he has promised me that when we get to Mexico, he plans on writing our names and the date of our wedding in the sand , take a photo of it and find someone nearby to make us post cards...lmao Ok Darlin....We shall see if someone who speaks Spanish and also understand a strong Scottish accent...So I think I will secretly order some post cards anyways..it case my Darlin Scotsman doesn't succeed. We shall see...he is VERY determined once he sets his mind on something. Take Care!

Hi Manda, How is your planning going? How many days left now? lol...Yikes..I have one day less then you! In your package you are mailing out this month, what are you including? We are doing something similar, we are sending a pocketfold invitation -informal but want to include some information and luggage tags too. Hi Ladies, So I saw something really cool today for centerpieces either at your DW or at your AHR. Safeway has purple and green chinese lantern branches(dried) for sale in buckets. I wish those were my colors!!! I may try and locate some that I can paint.

Hi Sheena, What book are you talking about? Is this part of the package they send you two months before your wedding? We get married Jan 4 and this is one of the last resort things i am worrying about. I have been pricing out tulle...I like organza but have you priced out online too? i may order mine online as it is hard to find organza or tulle in the turquoise that I need. If you can let me know which book you are refering to, I will request it from my wedding coordinator. Thanks!

Hi Trista, I wrote a reply to you and someone lost it! So I understand your frustration in regards to the flowers. I did receive the attachments from Natalia with the photos so I have attached them for you. You are getting married two weeks after us so I can let you know how things work down there. From what I have read, it shouldn't be that big of a deal to extend your reception an hour or so...tipping your waiters I have read helps. I know a lot of past brides has said that the disco is pretty good...depending what night of the week it is. I am sure you will be tired by midnight...funny how the heat does that to you! Decor- I will post a photo for you tomorrow of what I am doing for centerpieces. I spray painted tall round aluminum containers red. We will put sand in them and use them to hold the bridesmaid bouquets and my bouquet. This will be part of our decor. I am also going to email Natalia this week about renting square or rectangular vases. I am making fabric pomanders that I plan on putting in the vases on top of sand and painted shells. I am also going to price out green orchids like in the bm bouquets and possibly put them in the square vases with turquoise gel/beads(our other color). We are getting two free centerpieces with our ultimate wedding package. I wouldn't mind your thoughts on my ideas for decor for the canopy. Are you getting married on the beach? I don't want to bring tons of fabric but if they think they are going to charge me 400%$ or so for just the fabric, forget it! I attached a photo of what I am thinking, white fabric that is hung to look like curtains, a bit of turquoise tulle/organza and red flower garland(I am making) Happy planning! Tamandrob, I have attached tags I made using Powerpoint. I used the same image as the bride in the Maraca favor tag thread. I am going to print them then copy them double sided so I can fold them into a booklet like tag. As for the starfish, I got my larger ones from Michaels' they were the garland they had. It seems they don't carry them now that summer is over. I did find smaller ones, two different types at a store here, Chintz and company, a home interior store. I may use the smaller ones, that I painted with pearlized paint and glitter as place card holders. The starfish did smell but I put them outside. Someone had said to put them in the oven on low heat...I didn't try that. I found that once I painted them that the smell went away for the most part. I sent myself a photo of my painted starfish and shells to show you ladies....still hasn't showed up in my in box. Will post it tomorrow. nite nite! maraca tag sayings.docx maraca tags.ppt

Hi, We are giving oot bags but I want to put something on the table. So I am buying maracas down there. Each person is getting a maraca with a thank you note and maraca tag- I can send it to you. Guests shake the maraca instead of chinging their glasses so you kiss. I plan on ordering the smaller ones or something smaller for our AHR...or we may do shell chocolates for our at home reception. Hope this helps.

I have to officially place my order, Judy at Bloom Bridal is great for ideas! We have been emailing back and forth and she has given me photos and ideas to help me incorporate my two wedding colors. I may add some thin turquoise feathers in them as my fiance's kilt is turquoise and that is our accent colour. Janet, I love yours so much I may ask for red roses and less callas with my orchids!! Tori, here is the projected cost. 10 inch bridal bouquet with callas and orchids(just like Janet's)-122$ 2 bridesmaid bouquets of orchids- 40$ each= 80$ Flowers below are for on my wedding cake in Mexico and AHR 8 individual orchids-2.70$ each= 17$ 10 rose buds-3.60$each= 36$ Shipping=23$ Total=264.60$ includes HST 5% I think that is pretty good given the cost the resort wants. I have to decide in the next couple days if I am going to add boutennieres or not...the real ones from the resort aren't that nice. I am still going to get my bouquet included in the wedding package, may just use it to decorate the table! The nice thing for you Tori is that since you are near Toronto, you may be able to pick them up and save shipping. I would highly recommend her...even though I didn't get my flowers yet. She gets back to you quickly and I know I will get my flowers in time. She helps you decide what flowers would or wouldn't look good together.

I agree, gorgeous flowers Janet!!! I am ordering mine from Bloom bridal out of Toronto and hope they are as nice as Angel's. She was fully booked when I checked her out but she does beautiful work! Only 15 days til your big day! When are you leaving?

Hi Camy, So I am trying to make similar labels to yours on Vistaprint as they have a great sale going on. Did you order your different labels/ postcards at the same time? How can I put them in my cart and get more then one set of post cards for free? I tried to remove on order then add it back in and it wants to still charge me 29.99$ for one set of post cards. How do I get the deals I saw in the email, do I search on the web page? Thanks

If you look in the art/craft section at Dollarama, they have sealable clear bags, small to medium. The medium ones I have aren't big enough so I am going to go back to Dollarama or other dollar stores.

Ouch, I am really sorry to hear that. My dad is coming with his new wife but we had to beg him to come...yes...beg..he said he had an important meeting conference so we changed the date so they could come. I found out from him last week, that his meeting was changed...imagine that! And..they are staying longer...we were glad they were only coming for 5 days as his new wife has been quite nasty to my sister and I. A good friend said to me, Weddings and Funerals bring the worst out of people...how true. My father also informed me last week that he can't help us out financially until Feburary.......ugggh...My mother passed away four years ago and I would love her to be there for my wedding date. The other brides are right, it is about you and your FI...but it still hurts when parents disappoint you. Hang in there!

Hi Camy, I would love those extra bags/labels if you don't need them!! I made some stuff on vistaprint the other night but need to do a few more projects. How did you do your labels? oversized post cards? did you put the labels on both sides of post card then fold or just on one side?

Hi Steph, Their balance was due this week. They could possibly book later...although it would be great if they both can come, I would be happy with his stepbrother being able to come...he is his closest guy friend... Our real legal wedding will be back here anyways and they said that since it will be a month and a half after our wedding in Mexico, that they would try and make that one...

Yes, well what is upsetting is that we have bought their outfits and sent them to them...good thing I haven't ordered my flowers and a few other things. We were their only wedding party last year when they came to Canada to get married and we have been talking and planning over the past year for this...so in a way..a bit of a surprise.
