Yeah, I am silly...really wanted to not walk down the aisle in my bare feet...think I would walk better in sandals...may reconsider it. We may upgrade our wedding package and if so it includes the crazy carpet runner and a few other things. Are you making your own bare foot jewelry. I have Chelsea's contact info from another thread, but looking at Michael's today I was thinking I could make them myself...for the bridesmaids.

Hi Ariane and Congratulations! We spent a couple months going through resorts but here are the main factors that made us choose DT. Location, like another bride said, further away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun and Playa del Carmen. We wanted a more intimate location...smaller resort. I have heard that the beach around Dreams Cancun is not as private. The other thing,..golf course..my Fiance is from Scotland so his family really wanted to be at or near a golf course...I don't really care:) I also read better reviews and our TA recommended it over DC. Good luck with your decision!

Hi R, here is the image. I am trying to copy it and overlap two of them together. I wanted to crop as much of the background out as I could from one star fish and them over lap it over them other one...maybe I would be best to pick a different star fish image but I like the angle of it and the sand...Thanks for you help!

Luvmoo, Thank you for the ACV info. I emailed my TA today but I am thinking that we sadly won't qualify for the upgrade as our guests didn't all book with our agent so we couldn't have a group booking People from the UK, and U.S...couldn't count as they flew with diff. carriers and others used airmiles. Maybe Air Canada will be gracious and bump us to First Class:) My best friend is flying with us so maybe they will bump her too! Congrats on buying your dress. Let me know if you post pics in the other dress thread, I would love to see it! Question,. are you getting married on the beach? I was going to make my own aisle runner to save money, resort wants 100$ to rent me one but looking at Michaels' runners, not sure if they will withstand me walking on it, plus it is long....and if we don't get the 3 bag allowance...there is no way I will have room for it... Happy Planning!

Hi Ladies, I found a few great deals for the Oot bags. First, small jute bags at Dollarama for 2$. Does anyone know if you can put iron on transfers on Jute? I haven't bought the bags until I know for sure. Superstore has a great deal on Plastic double wall tumblers, they are clear but have different colored lids, I got blue and red ones as those are my colors. I think they have orange and green, maybe yellow too. Only 5$...most places want 7-9$ and compared to the online prices with shipping, Superstore's prices are the best. I plan on putting on a logo of some kind on them. I thought they would be nice to use for drinks at the resort or coffee...can hold warm drinks too. The cups and glasses they give you are usually small. If any other Canadian brides to be have any unique ideas to put in the bags, I would love to hear them. I don't want to spend too much on them...the cups were the big expense. Side note...not sure if you are giving your bridesmaids a gift, but I found really nice silk like pashminas at Le Chateau Outlet store, off white, 20$. Another bride said she was doing that and getting each girl's name embroidered on them. I may just get their initials embroidered in a corner...just an idea!

Advil for OOT bags in Canada
amjohnson replied to JBean's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
If you live in Edmonton, most Dollarama's carry Advil...I have been to so many looking for Oot bag deals, I honestly can't remember which ones had them. Sorry! -
Hi, I totally understand. I was playing around with powerpoint and having a few issues. If you can point me in the right direction that would be great. I used the help bar but still couldn't crop the image I wanted completely...there is still a white box around the star fish. I am trying to overlap two star fish. I got rid of the background I didn't want but for some reason, I lost some detail that was on the starfish....I will continue to play around but if you can give me any pointers when you get a chance, that would be great. My Fiance is an I.T. guy for Microsoft but he knows he stuff so well...he gets frustrated when helping me and I get impatient ...haha...so I want to show him I can figure it out on my own;)

Hi , The monograms you made for other brides off the cuff are amazing! So I am hoping you can help me out. If you want to play around with my ideas that would be great. I am pretty creative but having a hard time figuring out how to put my images together. I made a few a few weeks ago and wasn't happy. Is Powerpoint a easier program to use to manipulate the images and their colors then Word? I am not familliar with Photoshop so don't dare dive into that. My weddingn colors are a cranberry red and light vibrant blue. We are getting married January 4, 2012 at Dreams Tulum, Mayan Riviera Ann-Marit & Stuart (Thomson) Thanks!

Hi BDW brides to be, So I have found many great templates on different threads, but I came across a great site yesterday that I joined. You can do a free 7 day trial but it is great. Lots of invitation templates...nice and professional looking, monograms, thank you templates etc. Check it out and let me know what you think! I didn't know if this was the right thread to post it on or not. http://www.weddingclipart.com/category/wedding-invitations.html

How to Download ATTACHMENTS (updated 1/18/2010)
amjohnson replied to TammyWright's topic in Forum News & Updates
Okay, so I paid the Supporter fee, this may be a silly question. How do I find the templates? Are they in different threads or kept in a separate forum? Still new to this. I am getting way more out of this site then the templates and love sharing my own ideas and info, but I am a little frustrated when looking for some things. Thanks. -
HI luvmoo, I am not sure if you got your dress yet but I also suggest Urban Bride, the owner is Christine and she knows her stuff. Another option, which I didn't plan on doing is buying your dress in the States at David's Bridal or if you can make a trip for some reason to Toronto, they have two stores there. We went to Vegas in March and I was just going to look and only buy if I found the dress...well three hours later, I came out with the dress and only paid 650$...satin dress, Galina, bead work. It would have costed well over 1000$ here in Canada. They had a lot of other nice dresses for under 500$. A drive to Spokane for the weekend may well be worth it! Good luck!

2012 Brides - Roll Call!
amjohnson replied to jmred's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Thanks Chelsea, I have checked out your website about the barefoot jewelry you make. Silly question, do you have your prices posted? I am wearing sandals down the aisle...silly but I want to wear shoes with a heel so my dress doesn't drag in the sand and I really don't want to get it hemmed...it is the perfect length with a short heel and I know I will walk better with a heel...silly..I know. I am interested in getting matching barefoot jewelry for my bridesmaids, possibly clear and red beads mixed, the bm dresses are a cranberry red, our accent wedding color is a light but vibrant blue. If you can give me an idea of how much one pair would cost, including shipping. I live in Alberta Canada. Thank you! -
Hi January Brides! We are getting married January 4th, 2012, at Dreams Tulum, any other DT brides? I have a question for you? I am thinking of making my own aisle runner, the hotel wants to charge 100$ to rent theirs and it is sand color and not that appealing. I can make my own for 40-50$ and it will be personalized and I might be able to use it back home when we renew our vows in our church. Michael's has aisle runners, fabric ones but I am wondering if they will be durable enough. Any thoughts? It isn't that heavy but will take a bit of room in my suitcase. I am making my own fabric pomanders, look really nice, light and cheap and will save money on flowers! Let me know if you want to see pics, I did post them in another thread.

Hi Avens, Where are you moving from? I live in Edmonton! Maybe we can get together and talk or help eachother with wedding stuff:) We actually went yesterday to Derks on the southside of Edmonton and bought linen pants for the groomsmen, more pricey then we thought but they are good quality, Perry Ellis. My fiance is going to get the suit, pants and jacket so he sticks out. They are ordering their shirts from Marks and Spencer in the UK because he is from Scotland and two of his groomsmen still live there...also amazing quality. We are getting married January 4, 2012, Dreams Tulum. Good luck with your move to Edmonton. I am doing quite a few DIY projects so maybe we can swap ideas! Check out derks.ca for the menswear. Take Care!

2012 Brides - Roll Call!

Congratulations Everyone! We're getting married January 4th 2012, Dreams Tulum. How is everyone's planning going? Cheers! -
Hi Ladies, So I have asked a few questions already but I want some feedback on the different DT wedding packages. We have booked the Dreams of Love Package, but now looking at the difference in price, I am wondering if the Ultimate package is better value for your money. Before I email the wedding coordinators, maybe past DT brides can clarify for me a couple questions regarding fees. If we get the Dreams of Love package, do we still have to pay a 165$ set up fee for the beach reception? chairs, ..etc. Does the Dreams of Love package include any fabric or decor for the canopy/gazebo? In the ultimate package, how long does the mariachi trio play for? Any hidden fees that aren't mentioned in either package? From what vlynnw said, we could dance outside by our pool reception without paying for a dance floor?.... I was thinking of just bringing an ipod dock and speakers for the dinner instead of renting the sound system again...Has anyone done this? Feedback? Thanks!
